SKL- your chance to hit with attacks, as well as score crits
SPD- if your SPD is high enough, you'll be able to double-attack enemies, also affects your chance to avoid enemy attacks.
LUK-affects accuracy and avoidability, and reduces enemy crit chance.
DEF-affects defense against physical attacks
RES-affects defense against magical attacks
CON- unit's weight. this affects who they can rescue or be rescued by, as well as whether or not they can shove or be shoved by a unit.

From what I can tell the strategy is that you WANT to level up with BEXP once your best stat(s) is capped.
BEXP level ups guarantee you exactly 3 stats, meaning that the probabilities of boosting each of your stats are no longer independent. So if your stats with the highest growths are capped you then have an abnormally good chance of getting points in stats with low growth rates.

I like to give him a Thief Ring for extra gold to get extra gold and not have to worry about paying for repairs on his legendary weapon.

Sety can have many possible fathers in FE4, but when it's Levin (which will be the case for most players, and who is also his canonical father) he will inherit so much speed (on average) his actual base speed (yes, base) will be higher than the max speed of his class (Sage), causing it to loop back around and be really low instead.

The Javelin and Hand Axe users have surprisingly bad accuracy, the map is filled with bushes and a couple Healhedges, and Burger King can just stand still in places to block the physical attackers. If you know what you're doing, and if Micky has at least 12-13 speed - WHICH NIGGER'S HAS - you can get her up to the level cap pretty easily.
