Really Good.

Easy enough to get started.

People love my fake personality and flavor of the month gameplay.

Obviously I'm not going to link my channel here and out myself.

Retarded gamers are so easy to pander to, I've already got 20,000 subs in less than 6 months.

To be fair though some of them are cool but they're totally aware of what I'm doing to get views.

Entertaining retards should have been my job years ago, the money is so easy.

Don't even feel guilty for basically lying to thousands of people, I love the money!

>20,000 subs
>getting money

Why are you lying on the internet?

That's a low-quality pic in general

why start one, you can't make money anymore off them

Not sure what that translates to based on viewer retention, ad block, and other factors that go into monetization, but that sounds like it's some decent side money. Plus, if he's at 20,000 after 6 months, it seems like he's doing fine growth-wise.

Tell me, what do you do to advertise your content, besides playing flavor of the month stuff and having a fake personality? Do you post it on reddit, Cred Forums, or other forums? Also, is your personality cynical and ironic like that DuckStudios guy, hype and ADHD like that Jackscepticeye guy, pandering and "I love my fans so much you guys are great!

The last time I saw this thread there was some guy called WeegeePlays shilling his channel. He now has like 100k subscribers

youtube.com/watch?v=FuxI692S-S8

youtube.com/watch?v=D3thA7mCnJ8

How about you kill yourself.

Of course you can, just monitor trends of famous YouTubers, maybe parody, call out, or "expose" if you have good dirt on YouTubers with more subscribers, but always make yourself seem like the good guy. Controversy gets clicks. Act like you don't like YouTube drama, but make channel-deprecation comments about "haha guys I'm just doing this video for the money." Hell, if you have the personality to pull it off, you can basically seriously admit that you do it for the money and your followers will still eat it up. Alternatively, you can talk about integrity among content creators if you're talking about something shady that another YouTuber has done. You don't even have to find the dirt yourself, just copy from different videos and make it your own, but don't be a blatant plagiarist or people will call you out (do what I did with my high school essays, get different sources and reword them so that the plagiarism detectors don't go apeshit.)

Finally, if you're worried about being seen as a "drama channel", put out some mildly decent content, or if you're lazy, ironically shitty content, so that you can say that you dindu nuffin u just wanna make videos an shiiiet. There is the plausible deniability so you're really a "gaming channel/sketch channel/etc." but people will also flock to you because you have some presence in the drama that's brewing.

How long ago was that? What did he have when he was first shilling? Is his stuff any good, or are there enough people on Cred Forums willing to subscribe to and watch generic shit?

>part 13
>part 19
I ain't watching all that shit.

This channel is a little side project between me and my friends

youtube.com/watch?v=JU9Jf4ZjDgA
youtube.com/watch?v=oRXHr8q-cyw
Tell us how bad we are please

As someone who actually has over 25k subs, I can tell you're lying because you're not getting paid anything equivalent to a real job.

I know it's based on viewership and retention and shit like that, but can you ballpark how much you make? Obviously without saying what your channel is, I don't want you to get fucked over.

Put up a new video about a bootleg Stardew Valley game yesterday--in 24 hours it's become my most viewed video, so I'm feeling pretty good right now.
youtube.com/watch?v=6Zz0wS1z0yU

I wouldn't know how much I could be potentially because I turn ads off on the majority of my videos.

Still doing the jRPG thing and pretty much loving it. Join me, anons

youtube.com/watch?v=oufafejavqY

Is this because putting on ads could get you fucked over by copyright issues or are you not interested in monetization for other reasons?

Still plugging along, writing scripts for a very popular channel and making modest money. Also now appearing on a live internet show once a week that's behind a subscription paywall not on youtube. I'm pretty sure almost no one watches that, but it's still fun to be respected for all this knowledge of videogaming that I have collected obsessively over the years, even if it's just by a few people.

I've gotten on twitter. That's been weird.

You haven't been rangebanned yet for starting these shit threads?

Pretty good, nearing 800 subs.
youtube.com/watch?v=fXV4FySwato
youtube.com/watch?v=uu1xFdz2wZQ

I love taking advantage of leaks, it makes it easy to be one of the first to upload a video of the final boss of something. Too bad I lack interest in making videos consistently.

Hey, until we get a board for this, these threads are here to stay. Don't tell us to go Cred Forums either because it's really fucking hard to have a good discussion over there about anything that's not porn.

Copyright isn't an issue for me, if they claim it I just leave it unmonitized. My thing is I work a full time job and hate advertisements so why put ads on my stuff when all it would do is annoy my viewers and I don't need the money?

I just figure that if I make a channel and it starts gaining any traction, I'd turn on ads for the side-money, and if I ever make it in the big-leagues, I'll probably quit my job. I mean, I work as a lowly security guard so it's not like I'm living that cushy six figure life already; I wouldn't be giving up much.

>>>/reddit/

It's just a personal choice. My only real point is I can't give a good estimate on how much I'd rake in if I really sold out or made monetization priority.

Don't know what to do anymore so I just make random nonvidya videos.
youtube.com/watch?v=SLPXxAecqYo

Just scrolled through trash, it's basically just porn. Besides, no one goes there to browse and contribute, most of the people posting in the threads were moved there from the original boards.

And I don't like the general atmosphere of reddit. Yeah you lose anonymity when you post your channel, but you can talk about stuff in the next post and no one knows who you are even if you just dropped your channel in a few minutes ago. I like how you can discuss stuff without having to worry about your reputation. You can call someone an absolute fucking faggot and your channel won't get brigaded with downvotes provided you're not tripfagging and you're doing it in a separate post. It's great.

My channel sucks, but here's my Halloween video from last year.

youtube.com/watch?v=eyB9KgJ0CZs

You had me at jRPG and lost me at playthrough

...

kys girl gamer

I see. Socialblade is usually pretty accurate, but it's also vague as fuck in the estimates so it doesn't really say much of anything useful.

Different user, by the way.

youtube.com/watch?v=n3E10ipXsL4

getting a few likes here and there

Bump, I unironically like these threads.

>tfw always miss the hype train window for when new stuff happens

my content is shit and all i do is stream me playing nip dominoes or being garbage at video games and saying nigger a lot

Just follow some of the meme channels, monitor Scarce. Of course his stuff is saturated with unimportant shit, but wait for one of his videos to get a lot of views and actually be a big controversy so you know when to strike.

Honestly I know how you feel, I end up procrastinating on making videos until it's no longer relevant. I was going to make a Marina Joyce parody a while back but then H3H3 did one and I could tell it was kind of too late.

It exists. About all I can really say about it.

Alright Cred Forums I'm gonna make a meme channel and quit my job, then I'll be famous and go on YouTube rewind which will kickstart my acting career. One day I'll be a character in a long-running animated sitcom, and collect a check by showing up in pajamas everyday to a recording studio to say some lines, then go back home to my mansion and high-end hookers. Wish me luck.

Webcam?
Mic?
Editing software?

I just started doing TV productions class for my senior year in high school (18 so not underaged) and my school is basically full of macfags, so we're learning to edit on final cut. Is there an editing software equivalent for Windows?

Right now I have a blue yeti but if I ever want to do stuff outside of gameplay then I'll need a good camera/mic that I can take with me when I film.

It's been a while since I've seen one of these threads myself so I'll put mine in cause I feel like it.

youtube.com/channel/UCbMAB6SDyYQWDmNWA9DMCkA

May not be much but I like doing what I do. I do plan on branching out with commentary sorta things sometime, just need to get up and do it already.

>that really small channel that tries it's best but isn't growing at all despite putting out quality content regularly.

Don't give up.

I'm putting in effort, but I'm not trying to get publicity at the moment.

I decided to try commentary for once, it went alright for my first attempt. I played one of my favorite hidden gems that recently got an update.

Feel free to tell me how shit my voice is, I ended up mixing it way too low.

youtube.com/watch?v=nUZGujq9nro

Guys, check out my youtube channel, but be nice please, okay? I don't like it when people are assholes, if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all! , it's free entertainment you entitled trolls

Again, I have to drive home the point, PLEASE BE NICE OR I WILL HAVE TO BAN YOU
youtube.com/channel/UCw-xM7dcZGuVuiiEQC8tZXA/videos

this is my best video, btw youtube.com/watch?v=4Pzw4kivyiY

Goddamn, 16,000 views on your first video after 5 months? What's your secret, man?

Have you been advertising yourself? You need to do more than just make quality content, user. You need to trick people into watching your stuff.

how

sounds a lot like matthewmatosis

Oh so you are that faggot who keeps spamming his shitty channel.

Sound like exactly how I imagine the people here sound

How fast can I open a Patreon if I start making a video game channel? It's the only reason I'd ever make a video game channel in the first place. Because who works for free? Cucks. That's who.

youtube.com/watch?v=N6pHHJRX_bU
finally made another review, i think i'm starting to be less cringey

The video is long, edited, informative, and has no ads from what I can see. It generates high watch time that gives YouTube more of a reason to share it around.

only cucks open patreons lol

Pretty decently. Working on our second Halloween special right now. Could use more subs but the format turns people off I know
youtube.com/channel/UCjU0KCW-MSUHbQzWDbWUh1w

Or people that don't want to create paid promotional videos and stuff a millions ads down peoples throats to raise funds?

It ain't all about making quick cash from some folks. Many just want to make videos that people enjoy without the corporate world owning us.

I make videos of a game with a smallish community, Rainbow Six Siege. I don't get crazy views but I enjoy making videos and premiere is really enjoyable to use so I do it for fun rather than views or to be popular.

Not gonna link my channel

B*ยจ*ie here, pretty good actually, trolls have decrease their activity

It's not worht the effort guys.

No matter how much I put into it, I feel like everything I make is shit, and it doesn't fufill me.

>pretty decently
>can't break 100 views
>videos litcherally in the single digits
there are prepubescent children with more social clout than you

youtube.com/watch?v=oYtDXJTlozo
I made this thing, wanna make similar for other games

I just do whatever feels fun at the moment, so most of my videos are made on impulse and irregularly. I mean, I've enjoyed these myself.

youtube.com/watch?v=ZpQFaLW3HSM
youtube.com/watch?v=x-OcCvjf_R8

youtube.com/watch?v=oap0h3_aUCM

Nice to see that your most recent video is your most popular video. Seems like a good sign to me. Keep it up, user.

I'm afraid if I start a channel I'll end up with SomeCallMeJohnny quality.

i got 200+ subs from one vid due to luck and i have no idea what to do i'm trying stream though which pretty fun when someones in the chat
youtube.com/channel/UCbt-nu24NhGC81vgMe4B8pQ

It's non-existent as of yet.

In the sense that we make content. I don't really care about popularity, but it is nice to have you know?

Pretty non-existent still. Been uploading for about a month now and only got 7 subs. Making lets plays of older games is a sure way to not get many views, but I'm enjoying it for now. Editing is stuff in Premiere/After Effects is surprisingly chill too.
One of the reasons I started was to get better at speaking English coherently, and I'm making big progress on that count.

Seriously, how does one get subs? Shill your videos everywhere on Cred Forums and pretend that you're a random who "just stumbled upon this"?

I got a couple by being earnest and telling people I was posting my video, please feedback etc.
Not a lot but hey, I'm just happy people enjoyed my crap

Enjoy having some random asshole come and moderate your channel content whether you want them to or not

Learning SEO or whatever it was called for starters. Doesn't help if Youtube sends your videos to the ass end of search engine.
Other than that, its pretty coin flippy. Production quality still applies obviously, but for the most part you just need to keep uploading and hope people trickle in slowly.

I haven't shilled anywhere yet, but I might start using Twitter more for that.

what the fuck is this shit, why do they keep fucking with youtube? First fucking with the ui 30 times over, then letting false claims in with no effort, then jewtube red and their retarded copyright blocking unless you agree to it and now this? when will another site take over already?

Thanks, I hope to keep it up but I'm not sure what to do besides posting it to the general once or twice (don't want to be that spamming shill), or these threads. Oh well, a couple hundred people enjoying it is fine by me

It's ok, Bob will take over & fix Youtube one day.

Oh and don't forget google+ shilling

I never thought I'd miss this stupid little shit. I miss the days of YTP and stars and video game bloopers

best video I've seen in this thread so far, partially because it's not a fucking let's play

Voice sounds fine other than your mic is too quiet.
Subbed.

m.youtube.com/channel/UCH4BOX-rNJBSqxQwF6qcH2A
I need to post my budget cuts playthrough. Got five subs which is a small comfy number.

how do i use image sites like gify cat and imgur to get views?

a gifycat of mine got 100k views but my videos only get a couple hundred

Maybe watermark? Might be annoying though. If anything, comment that you made the video on the imgur post. See if it's been posted to reddit, and plug your channel there as well. Be prepared to pander to reddit from then on though.

I have switched my focus, I am doing political podcasts now, with that said I hope it is well received.

youtube.com/watch?v=9PpCSB300So

What's a good mic? I know a lot of YouTube channels use a Blue Yeti, but I want to also get into professional voice acting, and I heard that a Blue Yeti won't cut it. What's a mic that will work for both that and a YouTube channel?

It's going somewhere. I used to do showcases on dumb TF2 mods, but once those videos got popular that's all anyone wanted.

youtube.com/watch?v=-DS3g29LB6s

Now I just do lps of Visual Novels and Paradox games while also uploading random crap, not really caring anymore.

youtube.com/watch?v=ZfiuYgjIhi4

Here's my buddy's newest vid. A smash / cowboy bebop vid. He needs all the critiques he can get.

youtu.be/xBCViAQunOM

Really bad
youtube.com/watch?v=TE8ihg_O7Pg
i really like your stuff

>that national anthem
fuckin kek why are ironic podcasts so hard to come by?

Nice video, the commentary is fine. Hope you upload more of this kind of stuff. Niche is pronounced nee-sh by the way

I use a Rode M3 microphone with a Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer. I keep the mic just off camera but close enough to capture pretty clean audio. I master everything in Adobe Premiere after, but the audio that gets captured sounds good enough to use without mastering in most instances. Also it's a good idea to place your microphone around soft surfaces like blankets or towels to prevent echo and reverb.

This is what it sounds like: youtube.com/watch?v=nE5C7fo9jOE
