JD goes to his dad to show him something he found and what it looks like is crystallized imulsion. in the prologue it shows what is happening to a locust after the weapon adam built to kill them went off. there skin started to hardened and crystallize. so my guess is that the imulsion is still alive, just mutated into something else or all the imulsion on sera crystallized and became a giant fertilizer for the soil somehow and started mutating animals and shit again.

the locust were capable of extreme intelligence. RAAM was a military general who commanded the Locust armies, Skorge took his place when he bit the farm and they had all kinda of elite soldiers who were excellent at stealth operations and surprise attacks. The locust were animals hell bent on killing the humans, however, they were intelligent even down to the basic drone.

only works in close range, even at medium range it isn't great. you expend a magazine so fucking fast that you never expect it. if you don't hit all the shots at a further range it won't do shit. the spread is also ENORMOUS.

probably not, but i don't know yet we haven't seen that much in terms of swarm gameplay. only like 10 minute videos, we have no idea what all the bosses are like.

The juvies that are smaller enemies will rush at you without any thought hopping all over the place screaming, but they crawl into these piles of shit on the ground and evolve within seconds into a smarter enemy (swarm) but they still are nothing more than rabid dogs who can use weaponry. This is all I know right now, it has even been said but the developers that the swarm aren't as intelligent as the locust

The faction is called the Swarm but nobody knows about them yet, but there's an enemy called the Scion that people speculate is a form of Locust that evolved in some way to survive the blast because they look somewhat like Locust and it would make sense due to somebody having to teach the Swarm how to use weaponry.

I'm not going to. I want shit to be a surprise. I wish they didn't release the prologue stuff. That would have been an awesome start to the game for everyone.

Alot of people have been saying that its nothing to worry about, but if you actually, ACTUALLY watch video clips where its used you can easily piece together that any competent player will be more effective with it in close range than even the gnasher. Other than the blatantly strong aim assist (in Core mode anyway, dunno about Comp) the smg is pretty much my only concern for multi.

I'm not worried about it being overpowered so much as I am worried about it being a starting weapon. Honestly I would have preferred the Retro as a starting weapon but then again I'm one of the people who never understood the Retro hate.

They should have made the smg a pickup like the Gorgon was (which was very effective medium to close range in G3), stupid decision to make the smg a starter.

I think gnasher gameplay will still be very healthy at launch.

The problem was the retro outclassed the shit out of the hammy and lancer. It was also a problem because an entire team could camp with Tetris and never be touched. It did to much damage to quickly. It needed a slower fire rate or a damage nerf.

You know what the difference between Gears and Halo is? We get characters who are full of charm and wit, everything is polished well between them and it feels like you are playing with a family in a way. You get q sense that you are playing people that have a mind and thoughts, instead of some hollow shell of a man who's only friend is an AI. Halo is a good game, but it lacks the charm and good feelings that Gears brings and that's why it has stayed around so long, as well as the multiplayer. It's a game where you and your friends can fuck shit up and just have a good time. I ask people all the time what they like about gears and they tell me it's the expierence they had making friends and growing together throughout the series.

This game looks good but it feels like theres not a lot of passion in it if someone gets what i mean. For 3 it felt like cliffy b and epic went all out and added so much to let the series end with a bang. The sound effects, all the character models you could be, the maps, the graphics engine was tweaked to push the 360 to its limits, the 4 player coop, the revamped horde, the new beast mode. I doubt 4 will have that same level of impact as 3 had, which probably intended to be the final one until microsoft bought the ip and made a new one for xbox one

I liked Brothers to the End better, but Wingman is fine. Just give me one of those at least.

The mechanics look solid and in line with the original series (thank god). Some of the levels they showed looked huge with a lot of dramatic set pieces. Which is also good. The graphics look good.

One of the only things I don't like so far is the robot enemies. That shit is so out of place in Gears of War and robot enemies suck balls in shooters. I'm tired of developers using them. Just leave that shit for franchises like Star Wars that knows how to make robots fun and cool.

I played execution ranked all the time. In Gears 2 and 1 I literally played nothing but execution. I've been literally doing the same thing in Gears for 10 years.

They did this for balance reasons apparently. It will probably get toned down, but it's something I can understand considering Gears 4 doesn't really have any distinguishable supreme leader type characters.

I agree the robots seem cheesy but I understand why they were added, it's a story thing. Not meaning to dismiss your opinions as some seem to be valid but I think you're overstretching. Especially on the "343 syndrome" thing. Granted they're basically in the same situation but there are some pretty big differences. Mainly that they haven't completely uprooted the core mechanics. Gears 4 plays exactly like a Gears game should, we can argue about the benefits or detriments of shit like the AR cooldown or bounce speed but the core gameplay seems to still be Gears. It's not like Halo 4 where they uprooted the entire flow of combat with sprinting and loadouts. Not to even mention outside of the lack of elephant feet and a few other things they seem to have not butchered the artstyle like 343 did.

Bouncing like that against good players didn't work. Pop shots, strafe, and bouncing only when needed beats constantly bouncing every time. Twitch bouncing is also much more limited because you're confined to your bounce distance or you roll or don't go anywhere. Basically the method is used by advanced scrubs to pubstomp. Id they try that shit in ranked they get fucked fairly easily.

wall cancel was put on a 330ms delay during the beta so if you did more than 3 a second (easy as piss) you lost the ability to wallslide/pull off. it basically cripled you unless you slowly walked away and waited the 990ms timer out.

in gears 3 (and technically 2) you could bounce as fast as your fiingers could move. there was the issue of those spastics who admitedly took it way too far, but we discussed that in so instead of letting retards be retards, they gimped the entire system. anyone who spastic bounced was a free kill

unintended mechanics may not originally be intened, but if you build on it and let the fanbase run with it for literally 8 years you cant just do a 180 on it, after it coming back in 3 (three) subsequent games you can take it off the 'unintended side effect' list and add it to the 'features' list.

third one is just in game on pc, and ironically the hair seems to be rendered at lower res probably part of some custom made hair aa solution that only works at 1080p on consoles and completely breaks at higher res where the noise used to fill it dosnt match the changed resolution and leaves holes in the render

I wouldn't trust them with a PC version. The Coalition is a new developer and so far every W10 game has run like shit on my computer. Also, multiplayer won't have longevity on PC. However, if you buy the digital xbone version you'll have a free PC version with it, so it's in your best interest to get the xbone version anyway.

For those who played the Gears 1 remaster on PC, controller or M+KB?

Either works. Aiming is undoubtedly easier with mouse, but everything feels more natural on controller.

So gamepad for singleplayer campaign, M+KB for multiplayer domination.

Controller still works for multiplayer too. I'll be using that. KB/M players can still be scrubs and stomped by a good player with movement.
