Amuro had his moments of angst and sadness but those usually came from very human things like being forced to pilot the Gundam every single day and being physically and mentally exhausted, or the death of a close ally Ryu and Matilda

0079 was never about "muh Cyber Newtype waifu" like with Kamille and Katz, or Kamille's "muh pacifism, I hate war" speeches he makes right before jumping in the Gundam and murdering another one of Jerid's girlfriends. Sure it was the first entry in the series and therefore a little less fleshed out but I feel as a whole 0079 was more solidly put together as a standalone story

The atmosphere of the house works out particularly well as it states a metaphor, then while you're thinking about the metaphor, the game changes itself until it takes the metaphor into a literal sense as opposed to the figurative.
