>Keeps playing casual normie games rather than games Cred Forums recommend you but still browse this board

I'm not the only one...r-right...?

are you me?

At least you play games

At least you still play games, I just browse Cred Forums.

Define casual normie games?

Because to me that's another word for AAA games.

Most games Cred Forums recommends is for friendless faggots who erp on Steam.

I keep playing Leagues, Dark souls 3, Overwatch and sometimes TF2, the only thing/v/ got me into was Metal gear rising and Dark souls. But other then that I lack will to play games people tell me is good.

Star sector was one. I bought it since Cred Forums was praising it and having comfy threads about it and I couldn't get into it, I had no idea where to go.

>Spend years browsing Cred Forums
>Last games I touched were Civ 4, Dwarf Fortress and AoS 0.75 several years ago
>browse Cred Forums for the OT threads

Halo. Overwatch. Gears of war. Sometimes Cawadooty and Battlefield. But other then that, anything that's mainstream and I enjoyed and loved StarCraft 2. WoL and HOTS

Ain't nothing wrong with playing casual or normie games I reckon, as long as you are aware they are casual or normie games. Besides, a lot of them can be pretty fun. I like Overwatch myself for example. I'd play League more if I could get the shitty launcher to actually work, although I literally just play that for the waifus.

Still, if it bothers you that much then why not try some other games? Try out.... Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. It's a good way to get into the MGS series I reckon. It's got all the bells and whistles that appeal to casual/normie gamers and the gameplay is pretty solid.

I always imagine people here play AAA but won't admit it as they talk all shit and "Oooh this game is casualized for babies and Chads and it is not catering to my taste!!" But still play it anyways.

Like for example, Gears of war 4, it looks so polished all I see is people bad-mouthing it because it's

1. A Xbox game
2. A well polished and not filled with bugs
3. A dedicated team who cares about their fans and the franchise and do anything for improvement and feedback.
4. It's not hyped or anything. Like No man sky.

I been wanting to get into the MGS series, but the only one i played was Rising when Cred Forums was hyping it out and remember seeing the pc port and threads about it.

Or you know the cover based gameplay of Gears of War just doesn't appeal to them.

I kinda like call of duty though

AAA games aren't thaaaaat bad, but personally I feel like they get rather samey.

>Open world
>Travel around doing the same 6 subquest missions types over and over, or story missions
>Some kind of crafting element
>Some sort of stealth element
>Collectibles

I'm actually thinking of that Mad Max game when I typed that, but it applies to so many other AAA games. They're fun and all, but it's easy to get burnt out you know? Especially if you played an AAA game recently.

Anyway, Rising is pretty fun right? Very different from the series but personally I think it's good when an established series tries to branch out. I'm fucking terrible at it though. And I'm even more terrible since I took a break and by the time I started playing it again I am all out of touch and I'm in an area with strong enemies.

I play whatever I want to play and ignore the opinion of Cred Forums because most people who shitpost about games have never even played them in the first place.

>I haven't played it, but it's shit

Please don't post my waifu for shitposting.

That is true. It was, I enjoyed the soundtrack. The only thing/v/ got me in was Dark souls series and that was pretty much it. I could get into a persona or Neptunian but I lack motivation to play it. I do want to get into Touhou, i even bought two shirts even though i never played the Touhou project series, although Nue Houjuu is one of my favorite.

if theres one thing Ive learned over the years its to never listen to this dogshit board

That's pretty much it. Have you seen the Gears thread. It's fine to have Sonygger thread and Nintendo threads but God forbidden it's a shitstorm if there's one thread about the Xbox. Especially with Halo and Gears. I hate that faggot Ecchi reliable sniper, he ruins always ruins Halo threads everytime...

But I found some of my favorite games of all times due to Cred Forums

Stop wasting time on bad games.

Persona and Neptunia are weeb overload, I don't think a lot of people play them even in Cred Forums, they're just really vocal and stand out.

Sorry m8y, I'll return a picture back for more Nue Houjuu.

then you have some serious shit taste, pal

Yup. I play a lot of games that Cred Forums would consider to be shit/casual and so on. At least we're enjoying them unlike most cynical fucks around here.

I can't. I couldn't even get into Star sector. That's how casualized i am....

>I don't think people even play Persona
What I see is you trying to justify yourself why not playing games while browsing a video game board is ok.

I like Touhou games. I play Touhou games. I do not think it is necessary to play Touhou games to be part of the Touhou fandom. I'd recommend you to at least give them a try, but I ain't gonna say you're not a true fan or anything. Touhou is pretty unique right? It's not so much about the series itself so much as the fanbase. Almost all the content is generated from the fanbase. Anime, doujins, music, fan games.... There is just so much stuff and it's very easy to be a fan of the fanbase, if you get what I mean.

Like, when I tried getting into Touhou I went for the cold open. Find a random Touhou doujin on Danbooru and read it. Use the wiki to look up characters and references and stuff. I basically self taught myself Touhou and I loved it. It made me want to try the games so I did, they're fun and all but I really wouldn't say they're necessary to be a fan.

The print works on the other hand I recommend way more. The games have very basic plot and characterizations (and a lot of the characters half ass everything anyway, so you never see the full ramifications of anything in the games since no one takes things seriously) but the print works are pretty good at exploring the characters and world in more depth. ZUN is an absolutely fantastic writer and I would definitely buy anything that gets localized.

Or maybe you are the one with shit taste instead.

listening to Cred Forums.
We only come here cause its like a buffet.
You come in, choose a thread, shitpost,
gain weight and then go home.
> or a bar, never listen to bar ideas.

Then you find a fucking game that you enjoy which isn't objectively bad. If you don't find one you can effectually find a new hobby with no regrets. Have you tried the Ace Attorney games?

Iiterally me stando

Being part of a fandom and not being familiar with the source material will only make you look retarded. But it's a free country.

>had like 330 games on steam
>went through and removed all the games I would literally never play from my account
>down to 130 I think
>still play nothing
>keep telling myself I'll start DMC3 again soon because I never finished it
>keep telling myself I'll play everything
>only open Overwatch

I bought Cities Skylines today and played that for almost two hours I think, which is a record for me over the last three years.

Amaze me of how long Touhou been out for 15 years and there's so much fan content out there, that's some serious dedication and pride fans take into the Touhou project, makes me feel I been missing out of all that shit.

Thank you for considering my feelings.

People who remove games from their steam library are fucking retarded.

Yes. Yes I have. Godot is best husbando, his theme is 100% top notch. I played it on the Wii version, I ended at the final of the Ace attorney with Godot being the murdering, I need to get started on Apollo justice...

Persona's not that bad if you've built up anime tolerance over the years.

Anything for a friend, please enjoy c:

Jesus user, not even indie games?

You should at least try a couple of Cred Forumscore meme games

For Touhou, there IS a pretty big gap between canon and fanon for characters. And it would be a good idea to study up what's real and what's just popular in the fandom, yeah. The games are just... so basic though. I mean yeah, ideally everyone would play them but at the same time I can't exactly fault people for not doing so for some reason. Especially since most of the script in the games is...

Reimu: Who are you?
X: I'm [insert name here]
Reimu: I'm going to kick your ass
X: NOT IF I KICK YOURS FIRST

Honestly though, I do wish more people would play Touhou games. They're good danmaku games in my opinion, and they might be a good way to get interested in the genre. Worked that way for me. Right now I'm quietly waiting for DonDonPachi to come to Steam as well as Acceleration of Suguri 2 to finally come out. Same with fighting games. Hisotensoku got me into the fighting game genre and I have a lot of fun with them.

They were games that I would LITERALLY never, ever play once/again in my life.

All shit that only had like 30 minutes in them.

I'm autistic about organizing everything which makes managing my steam account 100% overdrive autism because despite a lot of the games being games that I have some interest in but can't just bring myself to play, I still want to remove them because I wont play them soon.

Go play it you subhuman nigga.

I unironically just play weeb games, eroge, and racing.

Unless Castle crasher counts. Actually I don't think I remember playing any indie game. i remember playing I made a game with zombies in it and that marbel game on the 360. Crap. I can't think of any indie games I played.

I will. Eventually. I'm too lazy to watch Anime as well. The only thing that motivate me to watch anime is either I'm at my friends house super bored or just super bored in general. I mainly get my anime feed from Skype book but the last anime I watched was Space dandy and OPM, oh and his and her circumstances but I got lazy to continue it.

I'm not exactly a fan of eroge. They usually fall into two camps for me.

>Completely shit, literally the only saving grace is that it has something to fap to
>Actually fun (or at least decent) but all the game gets in the way of optimal porn delivery

It makes me wonder why I don't just look at porn.

YOU'RE A SPINELESS FUCKBUDDY, user. GET YOUR ASS WORKING ON THAT BACKLOG NOW.

Seriously, what do you even do? It sounds like you're too lazy to do anything.

I have a Job lol I work at a deli department at a grocery store. I'm either browsing/pol/ or Cred Forums or using skype book, play on the computer or just sleep. My sleep schedule is fucked up, I go to sleep around 8 am on my day off and sometime wake up around 4-5 pm, there was time I woke up at 8 pm.

I feel I should start binge watching anime, I'm young and feel I shouldn't waste this opportunity at a young age. But I'm not underage although.

All I play are weeb games and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

I will! I don't have a big backlog, I think I have 15-20 games on it? I tried to getting into that one turned based game with the tanks RTS style but i got bored of it, I'm still stuck at a first level, I'm that bad.

Tired, huh? Fair enough then, fair enough. Do try to sort your sleeping schedule out if you can though, it might help your energy levels. Personally for me I find myself feeling more tired if I sleep too long than if I slept not long enough, so I always try to make sure I wake up at the same time each day.

Maybe you need a game that's nice and relaxing, won't take a lot out of you. Those life sim games like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory and Stardew Valley might be good choices? They can be pretty comfy after all.

I should, I been wanting to do morning shift. I can go to sleep at a normal time but I always feel I'm missing something out at night. So I stay up. And plus usually my shifts is one 4-8 pm or 3-8 pm, sometimes 3-11 or 2-11 pm, so I'm up till night and can't go to sleep because there's something to do.

Another thing of what I hated was if I would go to sleep early, say if I had community college classes, I would wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep, it's not I have nightmares, I always suddenly wake up and it's hard for me to go back to sleep.

That so? I get the allure of staying up all night (god knows that sometimes this place will make me stay up for hours in the hopes of a (you) for some reason) but it's better to just get some sleep. There's always tomorrow after all. The shift thing is tricky though, you gotta work after all. It would be great if you could get that morning shift though.

I get that not being able to go to sleep again thing if you go to sleep early too, I get that sometimes as well. Apparently it's pretty normal though, sleeping a solid 8 hours is actually a fairly common occurrence in human history. Again, it seems that a solid sleeping schedule can help with this. If you really can't go back to sleep though...

...Well, they say that the big O helps, you know?

Yes indeed. It's always quiet and fast on morning shift, I want to get out early so I can start going to the gym, I used to be a fitness freak and lost 32 pounds 3 years ago, but when I started with community college and since I lived in downtown where mainly alot of Mexican food is (I live in San Diego so all that restaurant and where community college was located at) got me fat big time, 20 pounds gained back. So I been trying yo eat fruit and watch what I eat.

Just play games you like, who cares what shit heads on Cred Forums think. I play super casual garbage all the tine but I'm having fun so I keep doing it.

Oh? Good luck with that diet user. I guess taking your own lunch could also be an option? Might be healthier and cheaper than eating out all the time. I'm off to sleep, good luck with everything.

You play video games.

That's 100% better than most asshats on Cred Forums.

Same friendo, it's always fun to see peope sperg out for someone having fun

Is this the sekrit 2hu thread?

Nice video games faggots.

Yush.

Seems like you're only willing to play games you can mostly just pick up and start playing without thinking or learning, and are constantly stimulating/requiring concentration, but not too much where one might get tired such as an intense 1v1 match. Basically you're just playing to be distracted.

What games feature uneeded medication?
