It's just too bad the closest thing we have to a modern Thievan game is Dishonored. Nothing beats sneaking around, finding entrances, hidden loot, dodging around security patrols and dousing torches with that fucking killer atmosphere T1/2 both provide.

DMC1 is the best of the series but usually you'll find people are accepting of that opinion even if they prefer DMC4. Even people who prefer DmC seem accepted for their opinion. Nobody likes 2 the best. As it should be.
