While yes, that's true, the point was that 4k is largely for for advertising, which is also true. The only native 4k games will be indie games and some last-gen games. Although I do think it's great that Tomb Raider is letting people choose what to prioritize.

I think the 3 modes mentioned will likely become the standard supported ones for most pro upgraded games. Giving people options, while making the choices simple so they don't fuck up the game is a good thing.

There's no sign of that though. There's definitely no mandate for it, its just something to help push the PS4P in the early stage. Devs might even drop it after a year.

Which will be most of them to some extent going forward. Sony will push for this to get more people to buy the premium console.

The GPU is only around 470-tier. While not bad for an APU it would be considered "decent for 1080p"-tier on a PC, not recommended for 4k or even 1440p. Furthermore the CPU is still really bad and is going to prevent getting significantly higher framerates in games. Keeping 8gb of RAM was dumb, should have used 12 like the Scorpio. So yeah, it's basically a 1440p/30 machine. Maybe 1800p/30 if the game is super-optimized. Either way, that's not eactly a high-end PC. Don't get me wrong, it's good for APU technology, but you're paying $400 and you're getting only $400 worth of performance.

the funny thing is is the PC version is noticeably better in quality, and while they are both screenshots I guarantee the PS4 is a shuddering mess compared to the PC version.

You can't, no one can, price is one of the biggest reasons consoles exist and dominate the industry apart from ASSFAGGOTS. You can't make something comparable for that price. However as time goes on despite the price going down, maybe in 3 years or so you might be able to match it if nvidia or amd focus on a 4k solution, until then you might as well just buy a Pro. PC used to have a chance at being the more powerful middle ground but now that people have started falling for the utter shite that nvidia puts out like 1500 GPU that are superceded in 6 months they just don't care anymore, you suckers pay literally 1000% on cards and they sit back and rake it in from your dumbasses because A fool and his money are soon parted.

But day 1, it is probably better performance than desktop parts at the same price. Obviously this only applies to like your grandma or someshit who doesn't need a computer, but it's true they will sell it for little to no marigin, and instead spread the cost over software and other shit in their enviroment like every other console.

That being said, in like a year or two it will be outperformed by low end parts, and shit will price drop on PC, but the console barely will.

Thank god they don't require frequent upgrades to make them match up to their ideal frame rates or anything like that.
