Easily Turnabout Succession in Apollo Justice followed by Bridge to Turnabout
playing through Bridge right now, good shit
I heard Turnabout Revolution in the new one rocks, but haven't played it yet.
same. no 3ds for me
>anything in AA4
>good
>let alone best
Not a single case in AA4 rises above mediocre, and most of them are trash.
Turnabout Big Top
I think AA3 was the best
kept the formula without all that emotional shit and every case was above average
Turnabout Succession was absolutely fantastic, and only nostalgiafags disagree with that. I admit, T&T is the best for me, but I absolutely loved Turnabout Succession. It touched me emotionally and I was emotionally invested in Vera and Trucy.
I literally just finished 6-5 and I thought it was great but I still think 2-4 and 1-4 are both better, with 2-4 taking the top spot.
AA6 as a whole was really great, apart from case 4 and how they ripped off Franziska but did her better again with Rayfa after they did it with Sebastian in AAI2. I'd honestly call it the best game in the franchise.
Nostalgiafags and people with critical analysis skills, I guess. It's an utterly unsatisfactory ending to a game-long mystery that was built up to no end, with an incredibly weak villain, the worst prosecutor in the series missing his only chance to shine, and Phoenix being more out of character than ever. It's the diarrhea frosting on the shit sundae that is Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
But I guess since you were invested in waifus you can overlook bad writing.
Farewell My Turnabout, always
Rise from the Ashes.
I can't help not being invested int he Phoenix Wrightfus.
Succession is an awful story-line that doesn't work under any sort of critical thinking put to it, is poorly paced in general and even if you could do the mental gymnastics to overlook it's more glaring logical conclusions it still betrays the themes and messages of all the other games that "true due process will win". Literally the only game where due process completely fails and in order to win you literally cheat the system. You, the player character, are barely relevant to the revelation of the case and nothing you do can indite the villain of his crime conclusively.
It's like if 2-4 was tied to a larger plot that was nonsensical, had tons of pacing slowdown to dump information about a sidekick's family and no happy endings. Just a bad and worse ending. Then on top of that, present an an unexplained motive/mechanic for the villain and bait a sequel hook about more sidekick family shit.
That note at the end of that case, :')
Fuck Mia.
The greatest thing the new games have done was giving her the boot.
I love Mia Fey.
For me it's
Best non-finale case: 6-3
Best final case: 2-4
Best extra case: 5-DLC
Turnabout Goodbyes and Turnabout Trump are my personal favorites.
Haven't played either Investigations game yet and I'm wary to slap Turnabout Revolution on there so soon after I finished the game.
>Turnabout Trump
Make Wright Anything Agency Great Again
bridge to the turnabout. it has the best twists, the best writing, the best emotional moments and the most epic resolution of the entire series.
i don't understand the sudden backlash against it. along with the grand turnabout, it's the series at its peak.
This. That entire case is a goddamned emotional roller coaster.
Someone please explain this "Honeymoon phase" meme to me.
Anyone have tales of being partially spoiled on one of the games but being pleasantly surprised at the whole truth?
At one point I accidentally got spoiled that Dhurke is being channeled for parts of 6-5 so when I got to that case I was thinking the entire time that somehow Justice Minister guy killed Dhurke, swapped clothes, and then channeled him immediately afterwards. The plot device note and Rayfa failing the seance the first time confirmed it in my mind, and I was thoroughly convinced I needed to tell her to rest on the prompt of whether she should make a second attempt. But it turned out that wasn't what happened at all, so that was nice.
my two favorites are The Inherited Turnabout and Turnabout __Ablaze. Investigations was truly a blessing on the series
Turnabout Reclaimed is the GOAT filler case
3-4
>critical analysis skills
If you think The Grand Turnabout is good then your opinion here is invalid.
Seconding this. 3-5 can't even compare. No case can.
People really liked DD at release too. A lot of people turned on it eventually. The assumption is that the same will happen with SoJ.
So, not so much honeymoon phase, more like Cred Forums hates anything that's popular
Playing Spirit of Justice, did the second case seem a little stupid to anyone else?
>Victim is actually some random guy the killer had no reason to kill
>Autopsy report somehow didn't pick up that it wasn't actually him
>Autopsy report somehow didn't pick up that it wasn't actually him
Why would an autopsy report tell you who currently had the mantle of a certain magician?
I liked all of the AA games, maybe AJ less than the others, and i still love DD; I thought Turnabout for tomorrow was great. People just like to shit on the tastes of others because it makes them feel validated.
>A Dragon
>Yields
pick one
>there are people who think 2-4 is the best case in the series who don't like Franziska
What the hell even goes through their heads? Without the whole Franziska/Edgeworth dynamic the story is honestly pretty dull; yeah, it's a guilty defendant for once, but it's not like it's that much of a surprise and the suspense isn't really that extraordinary when you have shit like the 3-5 and 6-5 scenarios to compare it to. The whole point of the case is the parallel between the actual murder and the relationship between the Von Karma siblings; the name of the case is a reference to the latter, not the former.
>there are people who don't like Franziska
I refuse to believe this is true
Would they not compare an autopsy report to someone's medical record and say "wait a minute, this data doesn't match at all."?
Franziska is top-tier prosecutor. She's over-the-top and antagonistic. I like her and I don't hate her, unlike his father.
Why wouldn't Manov Mistree's medical records match his autopsy report?
You realize there is no medical record for someone named "Mr. Reus" right?
How about the fact that Trucy is 17 and can't legally sign a contract
Those people are full of themselves. Franziska is an entertaining prosecutor, one of my personal favorites. She just has the unfortunate situation of not being the official prosecutor for any interesting cases.
Franziska is a boring prosecutor but alright anything else.
I dropped Duel Destinies at the start of the school case. Is it worth picking back up? Compared to the other games I wasn't finding DD very interesting. Spirit of Justice has been good so far though.
In a world where you can be convicted for murder in 1 day after 1 testimony, real world legality goes out the window
>6-4
Was the entire point of this case a practical joke on the localization team?
You should finish it. The school case actually gets pretty good
Touche. It still annoyed the shit out of me though.
If it was it sure was a funny one
Although I consider 2-4 my favorite case, I'm pretty much convinced most people in these threads don't actually pay attention to the shit they read, Cred Forums AA threads are filled with idiots that simply don't get the series (not much different from other sites though)
DD is consistently decent. It's not gonna pull any big punches. It's the weakest entry in the series, there's nothing particularly remarkably for it nor any high moments.
Last case has some decent tension between the trio though.
Your opinions are shit. Your tastes in Cred Forumsidya are shit. Your tastes in music are shit. Your tastes in movies are shit. Your beliefs are shit. Your hobbies are shit. Your car is shit. Your grades are shit. Your job is shit. Your pet is shit. Your friends are shit. Your family is shit. You are shit.
Well, coulda been worse.
Coulda been Serenade.
Sugar, Sugar...
>Burning on in my heart. Fire.
>Burn my love away. All away.
>Jove died in a fire
Damn...
...
aw honey honey
It kinda bugs me how the overall model quality in SoJ feels improved, but Phoenix and Apollo didn't get updates.
Apollo in particular lost so much spunk in the 3D transition.
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Ema made the best 3D transition
>The AA Localization team hasn't gone full burgers since 2005.
>Everyone still picks on them for it.
You fuckers will get AAI2 and DGS when you stop making fun if us. I mean them.
Just finished SoJ yesterday. I thought it was pretty solid. First two cases were kind of eh, but it picks up from there. I really enjoyed Turnabout Storyteller for being a "filler" case.
Music was really hit or miss in this one though. Nahyuta has one of the best prosecutor themes tho
youtube.com
Oh, I hadn't realized AA6 came out - how is it? I thought Dual Destinies was okay but generally too on-the-nose.
On-topic, I'm a big fan of 1-4; it may pale in comparison to some of the more fantastic finales but when you're playing through the series for the first time it's a really intense case and I have fond memories of it.
I do feel like SoJ and JFA had pretty unmemorable soundtracks, though Ace Attorney games always have their highlights.
Can we agree that Apollo Justice and the Layton crossover soundtracks were GOAT?
On-the-nose in what sense?
They don't basically tell you what to present if you loop back a cross-exam in this one, if that's what you're worried about.
I really had fun, its a very heavy Apollo story based game, but its still very fun, and very sad
I would rank it above DD
Yeah things like that bugged me. Although as I recall there were a few instances where the answer was practically given to you before you even made a wrong choice - those felt really condescending.
Glad to hear it's good though
>a very heavy Apollo story based game
I am very surprised with this, considering the premise of the game was "Phoenix is so good the only way to challenge him is to go abroad". That Apollo ends up getting the spotlight in 6-5 is very surprising.
I guess it's just the payback for Phoenix stealing the thunder in 4-4
Rayfa is beyond cute in this game, just not enough Maya for me. Though I bet she will be in the 7th alot more
I went into this game hating Rayfa with a passion and left wanting to marry her.
I didn't want to marry her, but I did feel REALLY sorry for her, and wanted her to go with Nick back to Murica
The first idea the team had for the game was "a teenage girl as a main character."
Then came the core concept of "Courtroom Revolution." That's when they came up with Khura'in and used it fill a few important gaps like "Where has Maya been?"
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN
WEST CLOWNADELPHIA BORN AND RAISED
>The first idea the team had for the game was "a teenage girl as a main character."
On one hand, I'd have absolutely no issue with that. On the other hand, I wouldn't want an entire game as someone like Athena.
Is it just me or do you guys get heavy ZE vibes from youtube.com
I swear, always when this pops up I start thinkinh about 999.
The alternative to Phoenix and Apollo starring again is Athena,
a new character,
or Lawyer Avengers like Dual Destinies was.
>DD has Trucy on promo art. Dindu nuffin.
>SOJ has no Trucy on promo art. Has whole case.
What did they mean by this?
Thirded
Brdige & RftA were also top-notch, but neither of them hit the same emotional highs and lows and tension Farewell did.
How the hell can you even entertain the notion of disliking Rayfa? She's a cunt for 2 or so lines before you blow the fuck out of her insights and her reaction to it is so great, I knew I'd love the character the instant she had to be dragged out of court. She's a Franny that actually works.
Not him, but I found having 90% of Khuraine shitting on you nonstop to be very tiring and Rayfa was just another log on the fire.
Well, I can agree with that, but Rayfa also doubles as the only non Wright Agency character that gets consistently bullied by Nick, which is fairly refreshing.
True, I started to turn around on her when she started tagging along for investigations.
Should I keep playing Layton v. Wright? Just finished the first actual trial, and I'm not exactly convinced to keep playing if the game keeps up the way it does.
It gets better
Trust me
I think the second witch trial is better than the first, but if you're not into it you're not into it.
I felt the same way. I dropped it after the first case for months and then picked it up later and then got hooked for some reason and marathoned it.
I feel like it's fun once you get into the groove of how things work. Plus the soundtrack is great and it brought some interesting ideas, like group cross examining.
Just be ready for some supremely stupid plot twists if you go through with it.
That is 2-4 right? I am always bad with the names.
If so that one definitely.
I've heard that argument said about fucking Asterisk War and Golden Sun. I'm not really inclined to believe that to be good enough, especially since I've already figured out how the rest of the game's going to go.
>Just be ready for some supremely stupid plot twists if you go through with it.
I mean it is a layton game too.
>especially since I've already figured out how the rest of the game's going to go.
Trust me, you really don't.
It really picks up after the first case, but if you aren't at least a little bit hooked by the end of the first case, then maybe the game is not for you at all.
May be for the better, since it does go to shit a good while before it ends.
Layton games always have some stupefying twists, the MC of Lady Layton not actually being Professor Layton's relative seems too simple a twist.
The only think I'm really not liking about Spirit of Justice is the constant pointless flashbacks.
Like, I'm doing case 3 right now
>Nahyuta: "Didn't I say you were just chasing a deluded fantasy?"
>Flash back
>Nahyuta: "What you're saying is just a deluded fantasy!"
Yeah, the flashbacks feel like they happened too often. I feel like if I actually map out where the flashbacks lay, it's always after a 'break' in the gameplay, either through transition from investigation to trial, 'court recess' or something else. So it's like Capcom assumes the player will have significant gap in time between the playtime bits.
For people who played the games through, the flashbacks will seem like it happens too often.
Things that need to change for AA7:
>No pointless "asinine attorney" paid DLC that nobody is going to buy
>Have elaborate animations like Nahyuta and Sorin (and also Ellen) did, but don't make them take like 10 seconds to finish
>Don't pull another 6-4 and just shove in an unnecessary and unrelated case where it shouldn't be
>Either make Apollo and Trucy fuck or realize the truth
>Make Pearl great again
>don't make them take like 10 seconds to finish
This, so very much.
I genuinely find Nahyuta interesting at first and would want more of him, but waiting for that fucking butterfly to land on his fingertip is testing my patience to the limit. And you can't speed it up either.
If Capcom wants to make a long-running animation, at least give an option to just skip it.
Alternatively, give an 'animation' gallery where we can see the spritework, please. Some are just really good and I want to admire it more.
The judge tells you to not be a stuck up bitch and enjoy the non-canon miniepisodes
So go fuck yourself you no fun allowed Nazi
Don't be a shithead user
I never said the content shouldn't be made, I said it was pointless paid DLC, which it is
Very, very few people are going to bother with it when it's hardly got any substance to it
It's just a waste for them to charge $4 for something nobody is going to buy as opposed to $6 for an actual case
Then don't make them 5 dollars. 3 dollars at most.
I say this after buying the Phoenix Wright Asinine Attorney case because I want more Phoenix-Maya in court.
Should I buy AA6?
Better than DD?
>Don't pull another 6-4 and just shove in an unnessesary and unrelated case where it shouldn't be
Not a lot of people appreciate 6-4
The game needed that case as a slowdown
After the shit that happened with 6-3 the game wanted you to take a break from what just fucking happened and remind you that your still playing an Ace Attorney game
Otherwise it would've stagnated and be fucking weird like DGS was with it'a inconsistent investigations over trials
If you want to
Yes.
Yes. I would argue that SoJ is better than DD, but I honestly bought SoJ (and a N3DS) solely for Maya, so I'm still not sure about my opinions.
Consider me still in this 'honeymoon phase', I guess.
Turnabout revolution
Best part is that you can just play the fucking case without any context and it's still good
Not a lot of cases can hold that
Only this, goodbyes and Farewell my turnabout do this
>without any context
I mean, you still need to know who the characters are, and how bad Khura'in's court system+DC Act is.
Not saying it's not a great case, though.
Of fucking course it's better than DD, this shouldn't even be a question
They brought back normal background investigations along with 3D
Difficulty is ramped
And it's some really good shit
>in the future, they don't sell the games anymore
>instead, you have to buy individual cases
>all same price, even if it's the length of 1-1
>you still need to purchase the 'plot-relevant' cases before you can get the 'final cases'
>for 'ease', they're all available in this bundle that costs more than the full games in the past!
>some are just Asinine Attorneys
Would you be angry?
To each their own
I actually liked 6-4 a lot because it was basically a stop sign after the bullshit of case 3 to remind you that your still playing an Ace Attorney game
The developers themselves specifically wanted Case 4 like this
Just replayed the first game.
>I was hoping I'd come up with the question while slamming my desk.
>I did not.
How do I play the DLC cases on a cia file? When I go click on DLC in Extras, it says connect to internet.
>Despite the massive advertisements with Wright and Maya pandering the game is actually about Apollo
>Maya is used pretty well without obscuring the spot light
>All these characters and all these interactions
>2D and 3D investigations
>All these different gameplay mechanics so nothing is left stale
>Fantastic difficulty
>OH HOLY MOTHER
>difficulty is ramped
>fantastic difficulty
Is DD really that easy? I've never played it since I got some massive spoilers.
What makes SoJ more enjoyably difficult?
AJ is tha beste. I think no one can argue about that.
Never played this game but I'm guessing it's just ridiculous anime court cases with puzzles
This.
Especially last two points. I can't believe they are going to use my waifu as a DLC fuel and nothing more.
correct!
Congratulations on solving Ace Attorney!
>soundtrack is great
I would even say it's even comparable to Apollo Justice, AAI2 and Unwound Future. It's that good. Just listen, god damn.
youtube.com
youtube.com
I liked SoJ but anyone else feel that Apollo's backstory is getting a little silly now? I get that he was a relatively blank slate in AA4 but Jesus Christ. What's next, AA7 reveals he's actually the bastard son of the Emperor of Zheng-Fa and is somehow related to the Feys as well?
The flashbacks got extremely annoying towards the end, they would show things I already read 5 minutes ago.
'The Turnabout' where we cross examined Satan, God, and eventually came to the verdict of humanity being freed.
If Klavier was the prosecutor on that one, I wouldn't play it.
I really, really hate Klavier.
I think the Prosecutor was actually Payne.
without any prior experience playing AAO in my life, I can safely say that's clearly adam
I agree, I was fine with his shit with Clay in DD but all of the shit in SoJ felt really out of left field (and I say this as someone who actually likes Apollo)
If anything I hope that him staying in Chingchongistan for a while means he'll have less of a focus moving forward, let his character simmer for a little bit
The asinine attorney cases also gave you some cool 3ds backgrounds so it's kinda worth it.
You are correct user and i love you
Maybe in 7-4 it'll be him doing the light, palate-cleansing case in Khura'in!
Then turns out that's just a prologue to 7-5, which will reveal how Thalassa and Jove had gotten into the deepest secret vaults of Khura'in, which revealed how the bracelet in Apollo's hands actually hide THE KEY to solving a milennia-long mystery of Lady Keera. And how Magnifi Gramarye actually got his hands on it and hide it within Trucy's notebook, which is of course stolen by the culprit, the one who gives orders to kill the guy in 5-5.
Congrats! You have great intuition.
You would think at this point Apollo had enough experience not to distract the main attorney by "presenting". Athena is still green so it's expected, but Apollo?
What there is to like about the bitchy bitch? she is literally a worse prosecutor than Godot.
Some people just can't keep their "evidence" in their pants.
He's stuck in an office with Trucy and Athena teasing him all day, he deserves to give them a dicking of steel if he so wishes.
youtube.com
I lost it.
I think SoJ has a great soundtrack, but the courtroom music is shit except for the objection themes. Worst cornered team in the whole franchise.
And yes AJ probably has the best soundtrack, or at least one of the best. Can't comment on LaytonvsWright since I haven't played that one.
With his 'abilities', even if Trucy and Athena both become completely mind-broken and turns into drooling sex-crazed nympho sluts, all anyone will hear is Apollo's orgasm shouts
PLvsAA easily has one of the best OSTs in the series. Great music. Also has one of the strongest Pursuit themes.
My favourite SoJ soundtrack is still this
youtube.com
I don't know why I love it and the game associated with it so much. The sound of breaking through the options and you speeding through that area as you eventually reach the light is just so exhilarating.
You forgot that the guy who gives orders is actually Apollo's uncle who himself is a descendant of the Von Karma and Fey families, making everyone in Apollo's family of the same lineage as well.
Literally what the fuck
How does the game expect me to have culinary knowledge about the differences between soba, buckwheat or noodles.
Never forgetthi
>game literally explains the difference to you before the trial starts
>flashbacks to the moment whenever it's relevant
>still complain
Maybe you should try a series more suited to your mental facilities, user
like Danganronpa
AAI2 > T&T > DD > SoJ > PW:AA > PLvsAA > AAI > DGS > JFA > AJ
>game literally explains the difference to you before the trial starts
Did they? Huh, I completely missed that.
I mean, I already know the difference between ramen, soba and udon because I live close to a japanese noddle place, but still.
I haven't played PLvsAA yet, but just judging from those screens, I want to fuck the boy in The Golden Court so bad.
>Getting spoiled on the Dhurke twist
God..that's like one of the best twists in the series
I feel for you
>boy
Some stuff is pretty accurate then you see Turnabout Storyteller in High Tier and I am not sure if I can take anything else seriously anymore
>boy
First half of 6-5 Turnabout Revolution
Starts with treasure hunting with daddy with even some puzzle solving.
Trial is a civil case against Wright with the best witness in the series.
The latter half was also pretty good, but I prefer filler cases to more melodramatic ones.
I thought the first half was awful. Atishon was funny and Sarge was cute, but that's about it.
Second half is pretty good though.
magical turnabout should be High
No, it was incredible boring and mediocre.
You tell me I don't have to be gay to want to fuck this delicious clearly-underage sex flesh?
Maybe the civil trial was a testbed for making interesting non-murder cases
I've always wishes for AA to be more point & click and less VN, I just loved the feel of an adventure in an everyday setting.
Yes.
Eventually by AA10 the murder case is left to the final case of the game. The rest is just civil cases like tort claims, breaches of contract and some rights issues.
I just found out you can actually select chapters within each turnabout once you beat it. Too bad they didn't do that with the first games.
I want to see a divorce matter now. Those get vicious in real life, god knows how it'd be in AA
Yes
Jean is a girl
She became a revere trap for reasons I forget
Because only girls can be witches so if she's a boy, she won't be under suspicion
I wouldn't mind as long as the cases themselves are good.
6-5's culprit in the civil case was way too obvious, like Case 1 or 2 tier obvious.
Right
Victim literally kills himself because he can't handle how fucking stupid the plot twist is going to be
Golden Court was so good on it's own, shame the tweest kind of ruins it
They added that feature in AA5.
Think the guy literally killed himself because he discovered his daughter, Darklaw, was Bezella, the Great Witch
Nope, just a shitty Layton twist
Fuck Level 5 stupid ass Layton wankery.
>divorce matter
Must be careful with the sexual side with that one. They would probably not touch that side at all.
4-1 was pretty much the best first case in any AA game and 4-4 was also good
>Case is filled with adultery or cuckoldry
Cred Forums would explode.
A true gentleman knows when a faggot needs to shut up.
I want to bully Rayfa!
Turnabout Target is also really good for a first case.
>4-4 was also good
No.
>6 Layton games
>Not a single twist in them is good
How?
>4-1 was pretty much the best first case
Yeah, I agree with this. It's probably the one with the most twist, since for three games prior the character that we can trust to not be the killer (in the same case) is the co-defense. It also kind of endears me to Apollo, since he punches Phoenix who does act like a jerk in that case. I was pumped, I am ready for this person's legal adventures!
Too bad the rest of the game disappointed me.
Try killing yourself maybe?
What was bad about it, other than the jury that was literally just made for a single case to bullshit Kristoph into jail?
What do you think Lady Layton's lame twist would be?
>She's actually Professor's daughter
>She's amnesiac Luke wearing a disguise
>She's a literal human made out of puzzles
>She's a Layton maniac who tricked herself to believe she's the daughter
>She's the actual reason Professor goes missing
>She's actually Future Luke, for real this time
The whole jury system, Kristoph petty reasons and Zak just being a complete faggot was so badly written that the case itself was beyond awful.
Katrielle is cute. Cute!
The actual London is artificial.
>Kristoph petty reasons
Not any worse than Karma's reason to kill Edgeworths father, and people still love von Karma
They spent most of the resources on puzzles rather than story. After the second game, I realized it wasnt going to get any better.
Still liked PLvvAA though. Probably he best Layton game too in terms of story
They're games you play more for the puzzles, as opposed to the story in comparison to be fair.
6-2 and 6-4 was way too short and had too little investigation. That kinda annoyed me
>They spent most of the resources on puzzles rather than story.
I don't particularly like Layton (because I suck at their puzzles), but this is pretty much why I feel complaining about Layton's story is a miss. Layton's games are pretty much just an excuse to cram 100+ puzzles into a game, with a flimsy story so that they make some sort of sense.
Lamenting about Layton's story feels like arguing a plot in a nukige is too out there.
How are the puzzles in PLvAA, by the way?
>How are the puzzles in PLvAA, by the way?
Too easy, they're nothing special.
Rayfa was cute. Especially when her cheeks got red and she was distressed
Most of the puzzles were also really plot relevant too instead of just "looking at this piece of shit reminds me of a puzzle" tier crap Layton is known for, which was really nice.
I wish Level 5 stopped doing these games and did Dark Cloud 3 though.
>Dark Cloud 3
Oh shit, It's the fucking Ladyton Art friend.
Where the fuck did you go?
>Dark Cloud 3
What's so good about Dark Cloud?
>Ladyton Art
Who?
The later Layton ganes made an effort to make the puzzles more plot relevant.
>be a lawyer
>play AA
I know them feels, bro. I love the games but god damn if they're legally incompetent.
Which one of the 'prequel trilogy' should I play? Which one's the best? I've played Curious Village and Unwound Future.
Technically she can, she just can't have it enforced against her until she reaches 18.
t. NZ lawfag
The thing is, the prequel trilogy actually make a bigger effort on the plot to be more relevant as well, as it's plot actually directly connects between all 3 games. If you only playec one, I suggest either Miracle Mask or Azran Legazy. Personally I suggest to play all 3.
>Best Ace Attorney case to date?
The one where phoenix drink's godot's coffee.
I'm just suspicious of prequels in general, I suppose.
Azran Legacy is by far the best but it really requires playing the previous two games and watching the movie to be fully appreciated.
>playing the previous two games and watching the movie
Ah, fuck that then
I'll just...stick with PLvAA for now
>Make Pearl great again
Time to give her a makeover with city clothes and accuse her of murder?
>city clothes
Get that filth away from her
>accuse her of murder
yes.
>Get that filth away from her
She herself wants to wear them. Who are you to deny her wishes?
>That twist in Professor Layton Diabolical Box where bad guy dresses himself as Flora
I saw it comming from miles away, but what the fuck? How did they not notice?
Someone who knew better
g-gentlemen do not ask a lady to unveil her dresses!
>city clothes
Needs to happen so the gallery and judge can listen to the prosecutor call her a murderer with a straight face.
Her getting red cheeks and starting to shake in anger is the best
>Unwound Future
Which track of UF is best?
I'm going to cheat and give you the orchestral rendition of London Streets that they later put in Azran Legacy: youtube.com
The song is originally from Unwound Future.
...
That speech Maya gave to Rayfa at the end of 6-3 really shows how she at least grew up a little.
I wonder if AA7 will even bother concluding/continuing her never-ending quest to be a Kurain leader
>without that emotional shit
>the prosecutor was the partner of your now dead mentor, and how he is trying to avenge her death, and about he feels like he should've protected her
fools
>I wonder if AA7 will even bother concluding/continuing her never-ending quest to be a Kurain leader
The credits in AA6 state she's already become the Master. AA7 could at most just show her in the role.
there was a speech? I don't think the game quite made it clear enough user, what was it?
>localisation team's face when 6-4
Oh, oof, I somehow distinguish between "Leader of Fey Clan" and "Leader of Kurain"
>it's all just more excuse to not show Maya in AA7
I'd be mad
The worst part is that the localization team had no way of striking back
The one they did at least 3 flashbacks to?
I never thought they'd acknowledge alcohol but 6-4 does.
Then again, a PG-13 divorce case could be glorious
L-let me flashback to a moment where someone teaches me about sarcasm.
Let me flashback to it like two more times
>The one they did at least 3 flashbacks to?
They should have a case where the 'right' option is 'DIVORCED' and then another case where the right option is 'NOT DIVORCED'.
Kek, I'm a divorce lawyer and I handled a case where a guy came to me after three failed attempts at divorcing his wife who cheated on him. I couldn't help but laugh, he was the unluckiest.
>Nobody wants to take this divorce case, Nick
>Why?
>They say the other attorney is the God of Romance, who always breaks divorce suits
>(...is this still the court of law I know?)
How the fuck do you fail a divorce?
>amnesiac crossdressing Luke
Please, user, my dick can't take this
Why is there no porn of these two together yet
Because Fujoshits are the only artists that care about AA.
He fucked his own representation
Tell me about the clown.
Why is she so lewd?
Daddy issues.
Just imagine her twisting your penis
>With a twist twist twist!
Judge, I demand a divorce
As in he fucked his lawyer...? Or he representated himself and fucked up?
it's not top tier desu, case 3 is easily on par with it albeit both are very good
and it turns out his wife was the representation and you get the typical AA twisty turns!
He represented himself and fucked up. The judge didn't accept his case as credible and threw it out. He then tried to appeal twice and fucked it up. Eventually he decided a lawyer would be necessary.
I imagine a divorce proceeding had the twists and turns necessary for an Ace Attorney case
>turns out the wife had a twin!
>the wife's sports coach is close with the husband all along!
>in a shocking reveal, the dad DOESN'T want custody
>the vow was written by the wife's sister
>there was never a marriage
>mdw (my dick when) waggle animation
I guess one doesn't have the right to an attorney for divorce cases
Now we're talking. The potential for an Ace Attorney game not limited to murder cases is limitless, they just need to try.
Phoenix sure do look happy being roped in to more of Maya's childish antics.
Also holy shit Trucy showing off her pits next to the Princess, you're not allowed to be this hot
>first and only witness in the series who actually walks up to the podium
How can other witnesses even compete?
One witness literally flew off the podium, does that count?
oh, and also, Ema sways. That sway is perfect.
Uendo was a fun witness, he and Blackquill made 6-4 good.
>All Kingdom of Khura'in names are stupid jokes, not even clever plays on words like the series usual does, just stupid jokes
>Can't take the game seriously at all
>again
She's already perfect you fool
would have made more sense for it to be a japanese only DLC case t b h with 6-5 part 1 as 6-4
Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright is serious business.
Eventually there would be a very complex case in AA that had:
>twins
>multiple personality person
>multiple channelers
Smart, non-punny names are reserved for the Khura'in royal family!
I wanna hug her when she gets so distressed she starts to eat her snackoos
>not knowing the traditional american art of Rakugo
Don't. That's her coping mechanism for stress. If you disturb her 'snackoos time', you'll get AA4 Ema back
I wanna secretly come on her snakoos
...
Rise from the Ashes
She wants it sweet, better start on that vegan diet.
so after finishing SoJ i feel like replaying all the other games now.
Though if anyone can help me with this, Does anyone now about more or less how long it may take me to replay through all the games that are currently available in English? So i can make sure i can make decent time for them all.
>Semen
>Vegan diet
You're right, what was I thinking. Just eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Each of the games is about 20-25 hours on average, if you like press every statement and investigate everything and present everything to everyone.
I think the Investigations are shorter.

youtube.com
So, what's it gonna be, Orchestra or Jazz Soul?
I really like these group pictures. I wish there were more official art like this. The only ones I've seen come from the visual book and from the older games.
This is best girl. All other girls are inferior to this one. There is nothing you can do to prove otherwise because it would just be baseless conjecture.
And unlike the first four games, I think DD and SoJ doesn't have the group pictures at the end?
t.Edgeworth
Kek
Oh yes, let's go back to the serious games with lead detective Dick Gumshoe and witnesses such as Frank Sahwit
Luke Atmey and say it again
>he didn't get the jokes in the royal family's names
Only Inga has a joke name, and it's only in his whole lengthy one
How have you even got through any of the damn games with this attitude? Every single one of these games has a shitton of dry humor in it. That's what makes it debeste.
Stop making these shitty puns, you're gonna make me pic related
Yeah it doesn't, they just replaced it with a short anime cutscene. What a letdown, the group picture was one of the most heartwarming moments of the game.
Group picture is for pissy GBA and DS, for 3DS we demand moving picture!
The ending anime cutscene in DD was really cute.
What is the best gameplay gimmick and why is it logic chess?
I adore the sheer whimsy of DGS' "Joint Reasoning"
Turnabout Holocaust
correct
It has the catchiest gimmick tune
>he honestly didn't get the joke of the other names
What are they, then?
What a qt.
They never recycle designs but they need to go back to this one
>They never recycle designs
they do, though
To it's credit, Turnabout Trump was one of the better tutorial cases.
...
>logic chess
As well presented and good logic chess was. it was still too easy. Divination Seance is now my favorite.
O HOLY MOTHER
Simon did literally nothing wrong.
which simon
i kind of wish they'd gone back and called keyes timon instead, or something
>It's a 'Maya is performing a spiritual rite in a closed off location where a murder then happens'-episode
Every fucking time lol
I knew it was coming but it still made me laugh
Also laughed when they lampshaded their own stereotypes when Athena was asking early in 6-5 what kind of case it was
>which simon
Does it matter?
well, keyes did one thing clearly wrong
>there will NEVER be a fuckton of AA porn because the majority of artists in the fanbase consists mainly of fujoshits
A vote for Atishon is a vote for a better future!
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for Paul Atishon!
Was it autism?
Man, playing the Time Traveller DLC case right now, and it just feels so... ordinary. Like a case you'd find in a fanmade casemaker.
It's not bad, it just feels extremely cookiecutter and no character or twist really stands out as interesting.
If the plan succeeded, he would be on the steps to recreate the plot of Memento.
It was the POWER OF LOVE.
I legitimately thought that he was autistic.
Anyway I laughed my ass off when he literally took off from the witness stand.
I thought he genuinely was until the real reason for the notebook change was revealed.
it flashbacks to that scene of him explaining literally four times.
however, because it is a flashback you will almost certainly just ignore it or skip it if you enabled text skip.
>So Polly, I heard you're assistant to a NEW girl now
1-5 if I had to pick
Rise from the Ashes may not be the most dramatic or have the highest stakes, but it tells the best story of any single AA case
Also the investigation segments are excellent
The absolute fucking best. Too bad nothing topped this one yet.
Same here. Haven't got myself a 3DS so can't say if the other games have better cases than this.
I don't see any recycled designs there
You have 10 seconds to tell me why Sherlock isn't the second best detective in AA.
Protip: You can't.
Biker Mia looks a bit like Desirée DeLite.
Atmey exists.
Because Gumshoe exist
ok, touche.
I feel like the biggest problem with it is it doesn't treat anything as a big deal. I think they only use the objection and pursuit themes once per trial day and the rest just get the Logic song, the content isn't that bad it even has a lot of potential it just doesn't try to make the reveals satisfying
>Playing Turnabout Time Traveler
>Present Ellen's Pendant
>"What are you showing me that for?"
>try to talk to him
>it doesn't work
>show him the remaining stuff
>he says nothing
>long paper airplane throwing animation every time
>Present Ellen's Pendant
>"I-Is that... Ellen's?"
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
the case was supposed to be a throwback/homage to the original games. it wouldn't be complete without some truly maddening investigation segments.
Nichody looks like a fusion of Saionji from Utena and Stroheim from Battle Tendency.
DD is honestly one of the best entries because it's so consistent throughout. There's no one really terrible case and multiple awful witnesses. Yes the final case of JFA is great, but it's surrounded by 3 dogshit cases and also has Oldbag and Lotta who are totally insufferable.
Who's the best villain from a non-final case and why is it Reitenz?
fucking noice theme lad
I liked Dual Destinies, but Case 2 and Case 3 felt like a slog to get through.
Especially Case 2
>"There was a Tenma Taro suit at the scene of the crime."
>"Hmm, yes, that makes sense."
>"So the criminal must have been Tenma Taro!"
>"lol are you a retard demons don't exist"
Between that and the Dark Age of the Law stuff, I got irritated really quickly. Blackquill and /u/ Cosmos were great, though.
>Athena, Apollo and Phoenix are all accused of murder
>The case is stacked against them so well, that its almost guarantee to put them away
>No defense attorney wants to take the case
>No Edgeworth to take the case
>Mia is not available to channel for some fucked reason
>Maya decides to channel somebody else
>Its this chucklefuck
"Plead insanity. Never fails."
Well it's either that or Hugh O'Connor.
So, i tried playing the second game, but i really hated the first case Or was it the second? I dunno, the one where you defend Maya, mainly because there was little logic to how everything progressed and the entire thing was solved entirely by baseless conjecture right out or Wright's ass Really glad the prossecutors calls him out when he tries that in 6
I am willing to give it another try though considering that i have an easy copy of the trilogy for 3DS to acquire and that i haven't watched the second part of the anime, my question is... Is the entire game like that or was that case an exceptional shitty one?
I agree that case 2 was a clusterfuck, but case 3 was hilarious.
2-4 > 2-2 > The other two cases
So, that was one of the better ones. The last case is worth it, though. Probably the best in the series.
Is Apollo Justice worth playing?
I got a new SD card for my 3DS today so I bought Dual Destinies and I'm probably going to end up buying Spirit of Justice.
Only good things about 2-2 was the interactions with Pearls, the revelation at the end about the villain and I guess the fact that it sets up some stuff for AA3.
2-3 is actually sorta notoriously disliked. I thought it was just okay aside from the shitty murder method.
Yeah, it's worth playing. Most of the cases in it were atleast enjoyable I felt.
It's the weakest entry in the series, but it's worth seeing how Apollo and Trucy were introduced, I suppose.
yes very much so..Trucy is cute, and bum Nick is the best version we got of him
Funny how they didn't try to pull another "japanese immigrants", they just went with it as if the average american knew about rakugo, soba, and there were japanese suburbs houses in America.
You should. It's overall mediocre and case 3 will make you want to kill yourself but the OST is great and it introduces concepts and characters that will become relevant in Dual Destinies and SoJ.
I liked it. Some nice character development and no channeling bullshit.
>34 year old cake
GodDAMN
Oh shit, I was just thinking about requesting this in the drawthread yesterday.
