I thought it was pretty good to be honest up until the last fucking episode, that shit was absolutely terrible, the writing really took a turn for the worst, lots of things didn't make sense, they randomly and really clumsily try to guilt trip you at one point and in the end none of your choices even matter

I even remember searching around a bit after I played it and there were a ton of hints on other episodes and unused lines which pretty much confirm they scrapped the original ending, and you can notice that too as there are plot points that are completely forgotten in the final chapter that's actually in the game

So I mean yeah, kinda nice game I guess but the ending is shit

It should've had an edgelord mode for ng+, where you could sleep with Jefferson and tell that girl to do a backflip when she was trying to jump off a building. Missed potential.

I don't know how you can pull that theme off to be honest. Obviously since you are making choices in the game, your choices should count for something, but if the theme of the game is 'there are some things you can't change' then you can't do it through giving the player choices, as it makes everything obsolete. Obviously that's the point, but it results in the game being unfulfilling.

I don't know, it seems a bit of a paradox. There is no excuse for whatever the hell episode 5 was though.

That's why Chloe ending is canon. Arcadia ending invalidates the entire game, making it and the rewind mechanic completely pointless. The entire game from the first time you use your rewind powers is about saving Chloe. You use the powers to save Chloe about a dozen times.

Saving Kate and the events leading up to it in episode 2 are by far the ebst parts of the game. I get that it would be a pain to make it matter a lot in the grand scheme of things, but after the big set-piece, you pretty much get nothing for your efforts. They could have at least made her text you a lot more, or talk to you on the phone.

I would love it if you took this game and its time travel elements, and put it in a Majora's Mask situation. It doesn't have to use the LiS characters, but the rewind mechanics.

You see your friend die, and there's nothing you can do about it. You'd probably have to see it from a spot you can't actually get to easily. Either that, or no matter what you do, she'll die in a different place at the exact time of death, Steins;Gate style.

Then you're sent back one week or something from the time of death, and you use Telltale choices through the game with the ability to rewind conversations and get different answers. The information you get will let you ask different things to other people at different points in time, and you have to slowly piece together the puzzle, or a way to save your friend in the end. For example, you can investigate one suspicious person the entire week and find some shady shit, and use what you find to help the police on day one of the week, in your search for an answer.

Of course, this game couldn't be episodic.

The saving chloe problem is that you have to use your time travel power to save her life in like five different situations over the course of the game.

Well yes, that's what I mean by it having plot holes as well. It doesn't make sense that saving Chloe causes a tornado in the first place, when saving Kate or Chloe's dad (in the alternate timeline) don't have consequences. If they are there, the game must've gone out of it's way to not let you know about them.

Is the tornado definitely the end of it? We don't know if something else will come after it if Chloe isn't dead, and if nothing does come, does that mean Chloe can just be saved again with no consequence, or will there always be consequences?

One of my biggest problems with the game is that, when most games have the opportunity for being deep and having certain information not handed to you on a silver platter, theorizing on the plot can be fun. But in a game like this, where the writers couldn't even make the endings make sense, people try to come up with theories about the plot when any question that could be brought up about it could be answered with "because the writers were shit and lazy". There was nothing deep about the game and nothing to infer, everything you need to know in the game is fed to you via conveyor belt. There's nothing to theorize or think about. Its just bad writing.
