So let me get it straight about combat.

Perfect block actually has two stages, normal perfect block and instantly counter the enemy perfect block. The second one requires you to actually press the button a bit before the prompt shows up but I think timing is affected by character stats. Dodge seems to require about the same timing as the perfectest block since it's already too late if the shield lights up, but it's most likely also affected by character stats.

Overall I see no reason to use dodge since landing instant counter block is somehow about as hard and if you fail you either get normal block or normal perfect block.

You're not going to be able to perfect block everything and regular blocks are terrible in general.
Dodges are super good because almost everything can be dodged and you can do it in pretty much in every state.

. The protagonist is a peasant. He gets really, really fucking lucky and a shot at serving nobility, which is already a live ten times better than the average peasant. Peasants also don't usually wield swords and use bows, the game even explains that stuff at the beginning. But it's war, so I guess that gets a pass, too. Peasants also very, very rarely climb social ranks, and don't get any sort of recognition or have any chance of being seen as remotely equal to nobility. The basically only chance to rise above your birth is to become an accomplished craftsman like the protagonists father, but even then you're still kinda a peasant.

But a game that's so set on being realistic and you a peasant that got lucky should stick to it. You are constantly reminded where your place is during missions and cut scenes. And one of the very hard limits of peasant life is that there is some (or actually plenty) stuff only reserved for nobility. One of those things is plate armor.

So what I'm getting at, anyone who sees Henry with plate armor should at least call the guards because a peasant would have no right to wear the armor of a nobleman, and would have to have stolen it or robbed it from a corpse. He would be thrown in jail and any good will of the nobility towards him would be gone. He would be back to being a peasant without a Groschen in his name in a heartbeat.

Instead, just nothing happens and in a game that's so dead set on you being a peasant, such a crass break of social norms just doesn't have any influence. I know it sounds a bit nit picky, but the immersion is kinda gone for me more and more with any fancy armor piece I loot of corpses I rightfully acquire from merchants with my hard and rightfully earned money.
