Its not artificial. You realize there is no way to jump the long gap. You know you need to get to the pipe. So you start hopping around and realize theres some hidden blocks

I just got done beating this asshole holy fuck was he a bitch to beat.

I am not even joking here.

This guy is a major piece of shit given that he's the first boss, but even if you beat him gutsman is an even worse filter because he's bigger, counterattacks instantly on the ground, and has no weaknesses.

Now that I think about it, they must have really wanted to filter out casuals considering how Fireman and Gutsman are the hardest bosses in the whole game, and yet they're the first two you fight.
