Unskippable longass cutscenes.

Splatoon 2 single player game. No rng, no triicks to speed up the route , the 1000% route is literally replaying every level 10 times with different weapons. The most boring and tedious speedrun ever devised.

I remember when we had this thread before and were forced to come to the conclusion that a bad speedgame would usually also be a bad game.

something so ridden with rng that routing a speedrun is near impossible, with way to fuck up the rng seed at every turn so people cant go for rng manipulation.

What if the frustrating parts only occurred when you tried to break the game?

The most effective way to fuck with speedrunners is to force them to segment the games in to different categories, one game with tens of categories of speedruns would mean loads of mutilated dicks.

Randomly generated text adventure

It's a pure autoscroller. There's no way to speed it up. If you complete the game, you just tied world record.

Game has a bunch of hidden triggers that check if storyflags aren't properly set. After a few are tripped, the triggers will randomly crash the game at a low rate, making the runners think it was something they messed up. Maybe once every 30 runs or so odds.

Animal genius DS

A rhythm game

VR game requiring the player to not be a tranny or be transitioning into a tranny

Final Fantasy 7

tranny any%

Literally OoT 100%

FMV dialog tree game
All answers are scattered on 20 CDs that must be hotswapped on queue

this is all it takes

if the game detects you are doing something it was never intended to do it soft locks the game

Literally every aspect of the physics and movement depend on your framerate, and physics are integral to the gameplay mechanics. It also lags and stutters randomly regardless of hardware.

Guitar Hero or Rockband

A game where if you die late in the level, the screen never transitions

>GH3 100% highest difficulty speedrun whatever it was
>Knights of cydonia
>hands destroyed
>but this a speedrun
>can't stop
>all the way to Dragonforce

>repeat the same goddamn impossible trick about 8 times

I love DKC runs, but fuck this sucked.

RNG everything
the good run exists and will always tantalize the runner

the position of answers for a dialouge that you have to choose are always randomized

FFXII 100%

everything is timed, and ends only when the timer ends. the only way to optimize the run is menu navigation, and the menu is navigated exclusively with a motion control cursor.

a 2 hr long speedrun where at the end there is a 10% chance for a 10 minute long cutscene to not play

Pencil sharpening simulator. There's nothing fun, no interesting strats, nothing. Just a joke game. Can't squeeze fun out of a stone.

they'll still have it at gdq, the couch will just spout cringey old memes for an hour until the run is over, and they'll get banned if anyone laughs, there have already been dozens of games like this at gdq

Any game, but between every level you are forced to type in your gender

Some kind of game like Yoshi's Island where there is no audio cues.

Bitching about speedrunning on a Tibetian sandsculpting forum is every bit as autistic as actually speedrunning.

Any persona probably

didn't they speedrun bus driver sim one time?

A game where every mission or quest or chapter has a hidden timer so that you cant start them unless a certain time has passed. If you go through too quickly you wont even be able to start the next part unless you wait

Wouldn't surprise me. They ran Animal Crossing.

any SMT
I just wanna see them speedrun it and fail because of how many times they die to bullshit

>game has unskippable long cutscenes that insult traansgendered fags and autists

how the fuck do you speedrun animal crossing
like what's the completion goal?

They'd probably just power up enough somehow to one shot the content

>P3 Nyx
>almost done with the fight after all the unskipable boss talk
>full team wipe
boi

>Dialogue makes a sound for every letter that appears in the box
>Walk and run speed are almost the same
>When scrolling through menus, they do not wrap around when you reach the last item
>The outcomes of certain boss fights are determined by side content you have to go out of your way to complete
>Every time you want to upgrade your weapon there is some long, unskippable story related cutscene that plays
>Certain cutscenes end with a "Do you want me to repeat that?" option
>Items heal for a certain percentage, it is never guaranteed or consistent.

A game where you press a button for a machine to a roll a dice for you.

You can only win if the dice lands on the highest possible side 50 times in a row.

Any failure resets the game back to zero.

Final Fantasy Tactics

Used to be 20 hours of ninja team slaughter. Now it's 4 hours of Math Skilling Holy or Flare

>Four hours casting two spells
>All you need is a list of battles and which Math Skill to use (usually Height Prime Number)

It's not fun to do, and not fun to watch

Completing a level faster awards more points, and every point takes a half-second to count.

The barrier for completing the level extends from the top of the skybox all the way to the bottom, with invisible walls keeping any intruders out.

Clipping past the barrier to complete the level results in a softlock.

AND the game was made by Tranny Haters.

Pay off Nook.

The requires the player to pay $1000 in microtransactions to unlock the ending.

So... Okami?

>completely a level or mission faster the dev could by naturally following the intended path gives a longer load screen increasing exponentially by the amount of time saved
>the added load screen length is also randomized

Pokémon Stadium.

Yes. Bless you

MC is slow, only possible runnable category is 110% all mcguffins including a set of car keys you need for an Owen Wilson side mission, unskippable cutscenes that take 20 minutes each, and if you try to break the game's boundaries or anything, you'll get thrown back to the main menu and you are forced to start a new game. MC head gets replaced with a Todd Rogers texture and you can't advance until you complete a transition from MtF, and an anti-trans message shows along with that video of proto kissing the other tranny the entire time. Once you are finished you have to beat all of the TGM games in a row with a grade of S9 or higher, or else back to the start. Did I mention the game is made by Bandai Namco Singapore in collaboration with Ubisoft?

Technically there are a few cutscene skips

QTEs everywhere
