Last I recall, Nier Automata also underwent a similar development cycle, where it got announced at E3, slowly trickled screen shots and details along the months, with full gameplay videos during TGS, then plot details along the 4th quarter. The difference is the latter gave everyone a demo to keep them talking while so far Code Vein still has only screen shots and sporadic gameplay videos to show. Makes me think they're still no confident to release the game to the public
