but Im aspiring to get an actual job in the industry. The code I am writing is going into a portfolio that will hopefully be extensive/fancy/smart/good enough to land me a decent salary. I post about my progress on my c libraries every day in the dpt, and i plan on showcasing a few other languages in my final portfolio program (Java and Python for certain, possibly Haskell/JS/SQL)

It's truely liberating. I have a secure job, don't need to do anything besides giving and homework and marking tests.

Most kids don't care about the quality of their classes so as long as you let them play with their phones they think you're a nice teacher.

I would have no idea where to start to get a job since I only have a high school degree.

I work as a student in a company and write C and C++ all day (and read bits of VHDL).
I love it, except that I have to use Visual Studio and C++. It's messy garbage when trying to link a lib in the project.

I work for a web hosting company, I do slight site support but mostly migrations 90% of my day is spent in SSH or FTP moving files, amending permissions, editing config files and DNS records.
