It only kinda fixed it. You're still limited to a list view which isn't very helpful on a higher resolution screen. Unless there is some setting I missed. But nah you're stuck with list view thumbnails and no way to resize them.

All file dialogs return a path + filename.
Why not just call an application that does this and then go back?
This way you could have the same damn file dialog (with the same settings) on all applications, regardless of toolkit and who wrote the software.
And since there basically is two main toolkits people use, why can't they have a meeting so they can sit together and fix it?
The only good file dialog I have used is the one kde uses.
As I understand it, that is seperate from the one Qt uses, but still, it shouldn't be too hard to coordinate between them all.
Should this be a freedesktop project or should you just force the involved parties to fix this?
As I see it, worst case would be a system where you have no gtk applications and no qt applications, so you just install an extra library with that application.

Not him, but if I do it the way you describe, I get a different error message. Which is weird, because when I try installing it with glib2 not removed, it gets way past this point and actually starts building it, only stopping when it can't resolve the conflict.
