Nice one. Basic is the future.

I miss my C-64.
I still have an EPROM programmer cartridge for it somewhere.

have a couple of cdr changers, courtesy of 1995.

CD-ROM changers... those were the days. Had one too, and a 2x traxdata burner.

the changers still work! they just don't build peripherals to last anymore.

What can I say... youtu.be/4AjScYSuGJ4

OP here, also posting this asm/BASIC powered bad boy!
I think i'm in love with dot matrix monochrome displays

click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,
Mouse/Trackball Brigade coming though.....

Is there any way to transmit data through the microphone and headphone ports on a mac? I don't have any way to connect the SCSI HDD to my PC, and serial/ethernet adapters are too expensive. I also accept other alternatives for getting shit into my mac.

>>/sqt/ or get a PCI SCSI host adapter

Fuck off, it's a retro mac. It's completely worth being here

which OS are we talking here? 7? 8.x?

9.0.4. I'm guessing something made for the older ones would work too but idk

which machine? powermac/powerbook?

Powermac 6100. 40MB RAM 60MHz unmodded CPU if that helps at all. I only have the standard ports it comes with, no sVideo or anything.

software radio on such a small cpu might be difficult/slow
i have found this, though;
blackcatsystems.com/software/multimode3.html

as for the receiving end (modern OS presumably), check out
whence.com/minimodem/

there should be a couple compatible modes between them

Thanks, I'm gonna give that one a try

this makes me orgasm every time

I'm going to build a Super Socket 7 based Win98 gaming PC with 3dfx Voodoo 3.

I know it's pretty retarded because I used to have AMD K6-2 back in the day and it was damn slow in games but SS7 is so interesting platform because of the wide variety of CPUs available (Intel, AMD, Cyrix, IDT, Rise).

Too bad finding a decent SS7 motherboard seems to be impossible since the prices have reached ridiculous amounts in ebay.

This is essentially the summation of these circlejerk retro threads.

>Can anyone help me make this piece of shit do something?
>...no... It's best to just keep it doing nothing and turn it on and just look at it all day
>...fuck off

we're on our way out, it took 3 days to get to the bump limit last time and most of it was "bump" posts, this iteration is finished. Remember: you losers are much worse than stancefaggots, your dumpster dive finds don't even work anymore, you're just jerking each other off in a parking lot pining for a time you didn't even live in and can't know how shitty it was because none of this stuff works anymore

Hey guys, had anyone ever tried to build a modern computer inside the case of an old dummy terminal?

lets us know how it goes, i'm at least interested to know

Is this the memberberries thread?

makes me mad I ever sold my K6-2 450 rig. I had it all the way up to 2003, sold it with 256MB RAM, a S3 Savage 4 Pro+, a SBLive, an external SCSI CD burner, and a pair of 9GB AV rated UWSCSI drives.

Your best bet is to burn everything to CD and transfer it that way.

... you DO have a cd/dvd burner of some sort, right?

the cd drive was optional, his might not have one

Apple 1X external SCSI CD drives exist. I used to have one for my old Roland JS-30 sampler. SLow as shit but it works. But, you should be able to hook up any old external SCSI CDROM drive to it plus you could just get an internal SCSI drive (and it's waaaay cheaper than externals these days)

Oh okay I see you fat fucks won't answer my fucking question.

what question?

This is my question:

i wouldn't be surprised if someone has at some point

I'm 22 and what is this

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storage_tube

JUST FUCKING KILL ME NOW MAN LIFE ISN'T FUCKING FAIR

that's the tube itself, as for the device, it's a tektronix 4010 series video graphics terminal
similar to later text terminals which display incoming textual data, but also capable of arbitrary drawing commands, thanks to the aforementioned storage tube display, which doesn't require any framebuffer memory to hold an image

SHUT THE FUCK UP KID GOD DAMN NIGGER

you alright?

I want the best CRT I can find for under $500. Any advice? I'm assuming a Trinitron PVM from ebay is the only real option in this price range?

fwiw, OP's thread titling is from this:
10print.org/

A book the muses on for 300 fucking pages about that program.

Before you ask where you can pirate it, it's available there under a CC license.

Anyone have any old Sun Microsystems hardware? I really want an old Sparcstation but they are so expensive. A complete system costs as much as a new Xbox One or PS4 once you factor in replacement parts and especially a Sun CRT--even without the screen it's expensive.

I don't know what supports such prices. Is the collectors market really that strong or are they still valued by niche enterprise?

Dug that out a few days ago.

Suddenly a wild brofist apears.

whoopty freakin doo

BASIC pocket computers are still really handy

Fuuuuu

It's just pure luck to find one for cheap

Hope the Genesis controller is modded if you're using it with that 64C, stock one is a CIA killer for both 64's and Amigas.

It's collector prices or getting them for free because they are thrown in the trash. A shame really.

...

...

...

Oh man, that GRiD is pure porn.

Indeed.

Any Amiga anons here?
Im thinking of getting one, what would be the best model? 500 seems like a pretty cheap deal?

>pic related

Go for the 1200 if you can find one, if you get a 500 you will soon realize that you want a AGA machine too.

Thanks, what's the difference between 500 and 600? how much better is AGA?

The 600 is newer, ECS chipset, built in hard drive controller, PCMCIA slot, it's also smaller.
There's a bunch of stuff that uses, games, etc, AGA, it's generally better, 256 colors and all that.

AGA is used by some software and games, but not a lot. A 1200 might be easier available/cheaper depending where you are however. The 600 was released as a replacement for the 500, but is in fact more limited.

alright, thanks but they seem to be quite hard to find

Luck and/or money are the only things that will help you.

I see, haven't ever seen one for sale here

>A 1200 might be easier available/cheaper depending where you are however
Don't think that the 1200 would be easier to cheaper to find anywhere then a 500.

>but is in fact more limited
Depends, it's not more limited hardware wise, it's not more limited software wise, it's only more limited by the expansion port that the 500 has on it's side.
The 600 still got fair bunch of expansions like the 500, everything that the 500 got.

1200 didn't sell well and NOS was available for quite a while. You could still get brand new one a few years ago. UK/Germany is drowning in Amiga's.

>You could still get brand new one a few years ago.
Yup, NIB ones costed a fortune too.

That's because some fucker found a warehouse with boxed unsold units and they where sold out pretty quick

Fuckin' Bubble Bobble.

What's with the .5 there?

Still wrong board luddites

Fuck off. Thanks for the bump though.

Do you use the Wii with the same display? Kek.

Without PETSCII it doesn't look right...

Kek, that's nice

Had to change it a little bit because easyBasic on ic35 is way more "basic".

...

>Being this butthurt

Can you do "if ran(1)=1"? Or maybe even eliminate the "=1" if it'll evaluate that.

>>>/kys/

Woah that's cute

If rand(1)=1 of course works. Damn, why didn't I write it that way!?! I guess i've not enough practice or my brain is leaking. Btw. If rand(1) doesn't work.

If you have the MID$ available, you could further shrink it to:
1 print mid$("/\",rand(1)+1,1);: goto 1

Sweet idea. Works like a charm except the goto. It doesn't work if it isn't rly in another line.

I have the same monitor

...

ok, I'm putting way too much thought into this. Here's an even smaller version of the print statement.
print chr$(47 + rand(1)*45);

I'm going to bed now.

In all this I'm assuming the IC35's implementation of RAND(n) returns an integer from 0 to n.

Sadly there is no chr$() on ic35 EasyBASIC... As I said, it's pretty basic.
Have a good night.

bump

I demand moar BASIC demos on your IC35!

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

>THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG
Guess all the letters work?

plus both shift keys mateyboi

C64-tan should use the C64 palette

...

that thing should also have onboard ethernet, try an scp or ftp client if you have a host to access

...

...

why would we want to help you destroy rare and cool shit for your hipster aesthetic fantasies especially when you're calling us names

just buy a crt monitor if you want to look like le epic oldfag xD in battlestation threads

...

Macs from that time use AAUI, you need an adapter to get ethernet out of that.

yeah and they're not very expensve if you live stateside

worth every penny, either way

bump

The one on the right is hella cute.

What's the idea here? RMS is retro?

I'm with on this one and will be worth it in the end
but I would invest in mouse/joystick adapters you will thank me later ;)

That's nice, specs?

At the moment its just a stock Amiga 1200 with a CF card for a hard drive, plus a ACA 1221 accelerator and ram card

On the ACA 1221, you had to pay to unlock overclock profiles?

If you want more than what the card gives you by default then you can buy licenses from the site icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/produkt-details/product/aca1221-upgrades.html#filter=*

hnng

damn that is a crisp design
I like how it looks like they've used the same/similar bevel on the keys and the edges of the case and screen, gives it a really uniform and proportional look.

...

Sweet, that reminds me I should try to get some more use out of mine. Best £2.50 I ever spent.

Wow, you actually took your name off this time. But we can still see right through your posts, Justin.

I'm using the same wallpaper on my T60 lel
