Why do so many sites waste all this space? Why can't they dynamically resize content?

Why do so many sites waste all this space? Why can't they dynamically resize content?

>they do not know that responsive web design is a thing

Could it be that they try put ads in that space?

Someone should post a screenshot of liveleak on a 5k monitor.

What else could they put there? +100 video suggestions?

The player doesn't need to be 640 x 480 pixels.

This.
Sites like that are designed that way so that no matter with what device you access them, they always look the same.

Why not? The content sure as fuck is that size
Zoom in nigga

You really believe your eyes can see more pixels than that?

Websites usually put ads on the sides. :^)

>zoom in
>content is getting smaller
>7 sites out of ten

Because users with that monitor size make up 0.000001% of the total, and are tech-savvy enough to use adblockers.

because that resolution is for multimedia bullshit, like gaymes and movies, not for internet browsing.
4:3 is for browsing

Do you not see the 'multimedia bullshit' right there, you retard?

websites were not made for that, you nigger

>(((responsive))) web (((design)))

Why the fuck do you browse fullscreen with all the horizontal wasted space? Websites are designed vertically.

What browser do you use?

Normal latest firefox on gentoo. This error is linked with smaller font size, when I use bigger size, text is not cutted

>Why are you using your monitor, are you retarded.

I love it.

Because it's hard to read long lines of text. The smaller the font, the shorter the lines need to be. This is the concept behind every newspaper and magazine and bible. A widescreen monitor is shaped for visual media like videos, photos/art or games. Two solutions to your dislike of wasted space present themselves: turn your monitor sideways and enjoy your fukhueg monitor, easy to read font size, reasonable line lengths and master race speed reading from page scanning - or use the window snapping feature that's been default in windows since 7, available in Unity since 12.04 or so, and default in every tiling wm ever to split your widescreen into two smaller portrait sections for two webpages (or more likely one webpage and one workspace).

you mean that type of web design where you use ugly flat design and stuff your shitty site so full of ads, images, and javascript that it grinds your browser to a halt. at least that's what most "responsive design" sites are like.

You have no idea how retarded sites would look if they actually built around your 5000 x 5000 battlestation monitor excess. Ever tried to read a book longer than it was tall?

More like why are you not utilizing your monitor appropriately.

This. Nobody gives a single fuck about people using screens bigger than the biggest ipad.
