Because nobody wants to touch the code that deals with IP addresses (bans, post IDs etc.) because it just werks. Similar pattern with other chans which depend on CloudFlare and could just use their transparent IPv6 support.

Using IPv6 will be better to stop ban evaders.

Because it's nice technology.
People don't do nice thing, like voting for trump. :(

because they put the MAC address in it. Fuck that botnet

Just spoof your MAC then.

>because they put the MAC address in it
No modern operating system does that.
Privacy Extensions.

Proof positive that Cred Forums has no idea what botnet really means, and just spouts meme to make noise.

IPv6 will be fully used when the managers of various IT companies, who are shown on this list:

thezog.info/list-summaries/

choose to adopt it. And if you want to know how these guys became the bosses of every major IT company then you should start reading at page 12 in this book:

>Microsoft
Someone's data is out of date.

>fuck that botnet helper
is this better, you fucking shill?

Someone's butthurt...

But my point stands, your data is at least partially incorrect.

>15+ years of LOL THE SKY IS FALLING WE ARE OUT OF v4 ADDRESSES WE MUST USE v6 RIGHT THE FUCK NOW and still we aren't using it and going merrily on with v4
v6 is a fucking plot to implement the fucking cancerous Internet of Things to monitor the fuck out of you. Don't fall for it, v4 is doing just fine and will for a long, long time.

>going merrily on with v4
Do you enjoy carrier-grade NAT?

Spoken like a true NEET.

And all routable IPv4 blocks have been assigned...

Do you enjoy being watched and monitored every second of every day?

IPv4 is no different in that regard.

AHAHAHAHAHA, no. IPv4 doesn't implement a fucking IoT to watch you from every device you own.

Have they, now? And how is anything getting done when no new routable IPv4 blocks are available?

Oops.

>AHAHAHAHAHA, no. IPv4 doesn't implement a fucking IoT to watch you from every device you own.
neither does ipv6 sperglord
it's literally just more numbers

>AHAHAHAHAHA, no. IPv4 doesn't implement a fucking IoT to watch you from every device you own.
What the actual fuck? Everything in the IoT is dual stack.

>Have they, now? And how is anything getting done when no new routable IPv4 blocks are available?
Because NAT. It's messy and expensive.

That's wishful thinking, friend.

Cred Forums → IPv4
6chan → IPv6

Pretty simple m8

... you know you can set up a DHCPv6 server, right? And that the MAC address is only visible in link-local addresses (fe80::, not routable) and in case where you let the devices on your network auto-assign addresses to themselves with privacy extensions disabled (in this case MAC is used so that the address is persistent and unlikely to collide with another one).

IPv6 is more efficient at pakcet delivery, secure and port forwarding can be done on device level properly (NAT is a pain, shared IPs on IPv4).

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't IPv6 be better? Imagine some pedo uses your wifi...you all have the same IP on that connection. With IPv6 each device has its own IP pool so you can prove your device wasn't the culprit. You could open up your wifi and not worry then.

Having set up a working IPv6 server, and having to work around IPv4 with NAT just to set up a VPN (L2tp encrypted with IPsec and OSPF routing) I hereby say you Sir don't know what you're talking about.
