Why are they so adamant about forcing this fucking screen?

Why are they so adamant about forcing this fucking screen?

???

>photographer (user, you) is in the dark
>the sea and shoreline (freedom) is in the light
>this is the last time they spoke as friends

It's supposed to be the new bliss

This is where Nutella had the best gay sex of his life.

It's like i'm really using a tablet!

Just goes to show how far subconscious symbolism can go. One is a picture of fertile land with green grass, the other a desert island with jagged cliffs. One symbolizing the fullness and functionality of Windows XP, the other the emptiness and soullessness of Windows 10 where even the built in applications have less features than those in previous versions of Windows.

That's you, the stupid ugly caveman, about to be enlightened by Wincucks 10

CORTANA CAN SHOW YOU RESTAURANTS NEAR YOU

HAVE YOU TRIED ONEDRIVE

OBEY

But I hate restaurants.

>none of the settings in the personalization section work, no way to set screen as a user photo
>provides ZERO functionality for most users
>does not enhance security
>can no longer be disabled in group policy on any version lower than enterprise, meaning Microsoft consciously decided to force its use
>can only be blocked after initial startup by explicitly blocking the lockscreen software in the local security settings tool

I just don't get it.

It's for ads.

Is this real or is this a mockup?

Nothing ever will compare to the Bliss

It's where one of the developers buries all the dead hookers after he kills them and fucks them. In that order.

It's real. They also did one for rise of the tomb raider.

It's real and it's been going on for a while, but not all people got them (yet).
Google "windows 10 lock screen ads".

One of the few things I absolutely adore about Windows 10 is the login screen. Simple, practical and beautiful in my opinion. Dunno why they keep reusing this particular image though.

That's pretty disgusting.

you can turn it off...

pajeet's gotta eat

>expecting logic from people who cum in male assholes

Windows 10 disc is like $120, that's a ton of fucking money for a commercial operating system, and yet, on top of that; they gotta put ads on their OS? Who the fuck comes up with this?

>Like what you see?

That's a pretty terrible solution to a paid for product.
Pic related doesn't even exist for every version of this paid for product.

...

It's not like people are going to switch to Linux. Might as well milk the cow while you can.

>>Like what you see?
maybe I could be your desktop lock screen tonight?

I was talking about the ads...don't know why anybody would want to disable the screen outright

hmm /I got it for free... did you miss the upgrade window?

>don't know why anybody would want to disable the screen outright

Maybe because it serves no purpose to the user and it gets in the way?
I log in several times a day. It would be pretty annoying if I had to dismiss a pointless screen every time.

even then it's a shit deal, since microsoft makes money by selling your data and showing you ads. if you got paid, then using windows 10 might be a good idea.

No lock screen, no ads on the lock screen.
That said, I cannot find the option to disable ads in here?

Am I the only one seeing the similarities between these pictures?

They don't really sell your data, it's mostly anonymous

>Background: Picture
done

It's like pottery, it breaks easily.

ez fix for plebs
filetea me/t1sdkZCX0BpTxujNn7hJFwxrA|

>being this naive
no way they would have pushed windows 10 and telemetry for 7/8 so hard if they wouldn't be making money off it.

They are making money off it, just in an anonymous way that also adds value for the consumer. Not a big deal

there's no way to know whether it's anonymized or not.

It has to be by law. MS doesn't gain anything dicking customers around like that, it makes no sense to go against their own privacy policy

but microsoft has a long history of dicking their customers around. they have only ever given a shit about the enterprise users. of course they also gain those sweet gubmint and advertiser dollars by selling data, anonymized or not anonymized (more likely not).

>upper right corner says:
>Do you like what you see?
>mfw

perhaps, but they've never broken any of their EULAs

They show cool images there sometimes.

To show you ads.

It's Plato's Allegory of the Cave you ignorant fucks

It's real, but it's kind of inconsistent.

I've had an ad for Microsoft Office pop up once on my laptop and never on my desktop. Not really quite sure how the ad thing works on your lockscreen.

>sophomoric philosophical symbolism that only makes sense on a surface level

Sounds about right

Probably because Bill Gates just wants to show off his photography skills....

Because you haven't changed it

I had one for Rise of the Tomb Raider, but never got an ad for anything else though

I don't mind though. It's non-intrusive

Its purpose is to calm you down and ease your rage from using Windows 10.

you can disable this easily though

The cave you are in is your workplace and you can only observe the bright non-coporate world outside from a small window in your office.

>This is where Nutella had the best poo of his life.

fixed

I don't know what you're talking about - I set mine to a custom picture on day 1 and it's worked perfectly for me.

year of the linux desktop confirmed

...

I had twice one about a mountain wich a insurance company was called after

They didn't stated wich company/mountain

Then angain I dont mind this kind of stuff
It's just a pretty picture of a landscape

i got one but i can't remember what it was for. i remember being annoyed

That's when i uninstalled windows 10
It fits, it all fits
Updates the size ova tangerine

I like it

If you don't, you can bring Win7 lock screen back with windows 10 debloat

>Go to /wg/
>Download wallpaper
>Right click and set as lock screen
>Never ever see a single ad across your lock screen again

This has been the solution since day one for this. I thought you guys were tech savvy?

Seriously how do I make it so I don't have to use a fucking password to sign in. It seems to have been forced on me since I reinstalled windows.

>Win7 lock screen
No such thing exists. Log on screen is not the same as lock screen.

I've grown so accustomed to the screen that it pisses me off when it changes to something else.

It'll happen to you too....

Works on my machine

Autism.

You used to be able to disable it by editing the registry.
With the last big update they removed that ability.

Sign in with a local account instead.

>settings
>personalization
>lock screen
>browse for picture
There you have it

Kek

>there are no ads in win10

If you have nothing to hide, it won't bother you when the gubberment makes it illegal to whisper.

Is this is serious please stop shilling. Wow cortana has the capabilities that google has had for years and sirir has followed..

>STRENTGH

>Do you like what you see?

Aw fuck, somebody already made the joke

It's where Bill Gates hid his horcrux

>Jänner

Australia pls depart

It doesn't make any sense and they explicitly state otherwise. This stuff also gets audited on the reg. too.

>unironically saying Januar

People in this thread don't understand that "Windows Spotlight" is "Show me cool backgrounds which may be sponsored or not". Bunch of fucking retards.

Malwarebytes do the same thing though

Nope. Not enough /pol in this thread I guess.

how've you been pajeet?

>Used Windows 10 since beta
>Have never seen a lockscreen ad

Not sure what you do to make these happen, but I sure haven't done it.

>decide to try out Windows 10 with latest stuff
>Windows Defender takes up ~60% of the CPU, have to literally fight the OS using obscure registry tweaks just to get it to work because it doesn't support disabling this

I like this one :3
