RX480 isnt good enough for 1440p

>RX480 isnt good enough for 1440p
>Fury X is a literal housefire
what do I do, AMDbros?
Is it possible to at least downclock the Fury X to like 300w?

rx470 crossfire, obviously.

Retard alert

get a fury and undervolt
can be had for $300 brand new

You get a 980ti or a 1070, whichever you can find a better offer on. (980 ti $350-$380 max, 1070 $400-$430 max). Furry X is way over priced compared to Maxwell / pascal.

i've seen some 980ti go for about $350 but they're all used off craigslist or something shit
i personally wouldn't risk that much money off grey market

>Fury X 432W, Card only

That has to be bullshit, especially with the normal Fury being 270W.

then again, TPU is a known NVidia shill site, so I'm not surprised.

Probably recording spikes. Which is kinda useful so you plan ahead with good PSU. However for general case scenario, its a non-issue.

I cant get a normal Fury, I have mini ITX case

Spikes don't affect PSU that much though. I'm using a gtx 670+i5 2500 on a cheap generic and it hasn't gone fucky yet

Maybe I should just overclock the hell out of the 480

>maximum

>646W

What the fuck

Thats a dual card
it should be fucking scary that the Curry X comes even close to it

Should I pay more attention to Max or Peak power
ive got a 600w PSU and dont want to blow it to pieces

>Max or Peak power
Average power consumption.

It's Furmark power consumption and this is a bait thread.

>that jump from 7990 to 295x2

It's a big card.

Micro Center has cheap R9 Nanos

Well, your card has a max of about 160w and average of about 140w.

So its a nonissue for you. Even a standard 300w would probably be fine in your case. But if you had stuff like GTX 480, then the norms don't apply. GTX 480 peaks at 360w and averages 260w

8 u

It's a windforce, but it's been overclocked.

The 2500 is 95w iirc, and I have 3 hard drives and 4 fans. Considering most generics struggle with 300w, I'm surprised this is still working fine after 3 years.

what if im doing something beyond average

>Curry X

I can fit a full size GPU, its that the regular Furys are long as fuck

I could probably fit it in actually, but youre supposed to use a blower with Mini ITX, right?

No.

can someone explain why would the 1080ti even use GDDR5 when the 1080 has GDDR5x

why would anyone believe these rumors

but then it would bring a bunch of heat into my case

Nvidia likes to cut things down and charge more

it's more like bloggers can't even get logic right

I dont ubderstand the Fury X, it uses much less power than all of AMDs other high end cards until you throw Furmark at it or something and it becomes the worst single card housefire

Underutilized hardware until you throw a synthetic benchmark at it.

quit being poor if you want to play at 1440p
>2016
>using multi gpu setups
enjoy your terrible experience.
you are far better off skipping the haste of multi gpu setups, and just buying one better card
>craigslist
>gray market
maybe if you are full blown retard and don't test the card first
