So there's not a single aspect where macOS beats Windows?

The only reason to use Windows is games and few specialized programs with no OS X equivalents. On the other hand OS X is a UNIX, so there are a LOT of reasons to choose it above Windows. I work in science and literally nobody I work with uses Windows. It's basically 8:2 OS X, the rest is linux.

Not him but I prefer Sierra, there are some OSX features that I use everyday like Picture in Picture and Homebrew. When it comes to gaming Windows is superior but I haven't played vidya for a while.

Opera has a Picture in Picture mode, you might want to use that when you're on Windows.

OSX can do picture in picture on anything video. Like if I was watching animu I would just right click and picture and picture, sure MPlayer has the same keep on top feature. But I just like having standardized feature that works in all applications. They way it was coded is also very creative and smart.

For windows you need to have that option either from the browser or if its enabled by the content provider in OSX you can do it with any video from any application.

OSX has better internal features for day to day Task and communication features however to aquire these feature you need to pay a inordinate amount to get hardware for the OS to run.

On the other end windows lacks these features but they can easily be obtained by using google services for calendars to email.

I greatly dislike Apple as a company. I think a lot of their developers are idiots and their software frequently has gaping holes in functionality. They let large parts of their software ecosystem languish for years while updating and adding features to things people are already happy with. HFS+ is a horrible, horrible pile of shit and diagnosing issues with Mac hardware is unreasonably difficult.

That said, Windows 10 is garbage and every time I use it, I find more anti-features to be upset over. Sierra is the clear winner.

OS X, because it's *nixlike and can run almost everything that runs on Linux and the BSDs with minimal effort. Also because it's not handicapped with backwards compatibility stretching back to the beginning of time; Mac devs either keep their shit updated or are left in the sands of time. Their attitude is that if you really need to run 15-20+ year old software, spin up a VM with the required OS and run it there, which is the correct way of doing things. It's baffling that MS still maintains backwards compatibility as far back as they do; they should draw the line at Win7 and include a stripped-down XP virtualization mode for anything older.

Tons of engineering software are only available for windows, programming microcontrollers, using simulators and plenty of stuff for servers are way better or only available for windows, preferably W7 or W8.1.

Life-long Mac user here since the Apple II. I absolutely loved everything until about two years ago. Now there is literally nothing Apple produces that I would term a quality product. I don't recommend windows either but mac products are a joke now and should be ignored until Apple brings back function over form and quality control in their software.

It's less about what you can/can't do and more about using a workflow and UI that works with you better. Kinda the same reason why different people use different WMs/DEs under Linux.

Yeah it's really only useful for text files, and in that case it's trivial to add a "Create Text File Here" menu item to the Finder's context menus.

The only reason I use Windows is because I grew up with it. Now that I'm getting into music production, I'm considering switching so I van use Pro Tools and enjoy the superior audio production experience macOS offers.

If you want a computer to do work with, PC with both Linux and Windows.
If you just use your computer for photos, shallow video recordings and Facebook, a Mac is best.

I like being open to options that are supported around the world. Even loonix made it easy to install on my pc I built. I legitimately don't understand the reason to get OSX over Windows when there's an adobe suite and multiple helpful videos and tutorials online that use my OS.
