Jews, one world government, Google selling your data. Take your pick.

Or better yet the Jew controlled Google is selling your data to fund their one world government.

> 2016
> Still not having a Google account

What shit tier country are you from user?

Five years ago you could. There's so much bad shit happening really, and I hardly pay attention. They seemingly, sporadically, started requiring cell numbers so no one would bitch all at once, so I'm not sure when it even happened. I'm pretty sure they've figured out how to butterfly effect the shit out of the internet, but it takes time, of course. It's hard to even make throw aways, because that fails now days alot I've noticed.

>why is a private company allowed to do what it wants with its own service
Because this isn't communism
If you don't like it, don't use it

I have a couple for different purposes. Now i'm learning webdev and to use google engine api i need a google account, i'd rather make a new since it's unrelated to my other accounts. I like to keep things separated.
But still why do they force that feature, supposidly for security but phones are the less secure device today. And actually connect the real name of the user to his account, and all that can be found with just that.

I take all three.

Jew controls the world(your information), because people are greedy (data mining).
If people wouldn't be greedy(data mining), it wouldn't work.

When I registered it wasn't a requirement. Sucks to be new, I guess?

For "your convenience". Humanity becomes more stupid, over time. So they want more convenience. Which results in giving away phone number and other private data.

Because people would abuse it if you could.

Don't you faggots have a business phone that you have public already? It isn't like Google doesn't have it indexed already.

How much time and money goes into therapy for that you think? Poor emails.
>implying people won't/don't abuse the buy-a-throw-away-cell procedure for new emails
>10 dollars to get an actual cell from dollar general or similar

As long as google doesn't play "monopoly". And there is no other way left to connect to the internet, but through google. It's coming, but when it's there, most people are already formed so much that they will accept it.

just wait for IPFS

Google isnt the only email provider, son.

That. Now if your country has each number identifiable to a person (all Eurocucks countries?) then blame them.

>permanent internet,
to carve the stupidity of todays mankind into stone

yeah that's what we really need now...

Is this recent? Because I made a bunch of accounts last year and none of them asked for my phone number.

I made my last google account 13 months ago and had no problem, so it's recent.

>Current year
>Not using ProtonMail

put into effect this year

You can so. I just made an account. Leave the mobile number field blank. And stop being a retard.

Is it a call or text message?

Just use an online text messaging service

Who gives a shit? Most people have publicly available phone number. What are you afraid they're gonna do with it?

AFAIK the phone number is used as a last resort password recovery, and it's likely tied to tons of Android-related things.

If you're Mr. IneedPrivacy, then give them a false number or buy a cheap af phone with finite minutes and use that number.

I think you can make an account without a phone number so long as google "trusts" you. That means you already have an account or your activity isn't suspicious.

no you can't liar

2step is god tier

Your phone number is the most attractive primary key to be used to save your data in advertising databases. This is why there has been such a push for it within the past 3-4 years from every website that sells your data.

The only solution is to stop being such a pleb and rid yourself of all communication devices.

>why is this allowed ? wtf.

Its their private non-essential service you dumb fuck. They can ask for pictures of your nutsack and they'd still be within their rights. Don't like it? Don't use it.

callcentric.com gives away free NY DIDs and yes they do allow incoming SMS that will be translated to a voicemail.

Google was a mistake

>"Don't like how your country is being run? Just move to a new one dude"

Ah yes the wonders of lolbergtardianist """thought"""

I think a really important question to ask is how the early "hacker" ethos failed so utterly and completely.

Doing the wrong thing while being within your rights is still wrong

sorry corporatist retard, being a private company doesn't mean you can make your product try and fuck over your user and be above criticism

it's not when your phone is very easy to own.

No wonder ubisoft games went down the fucking toilet

You can't give them a false number. They call/text your number with a verification code you have to input or else it won't let you create an account.

It's like 2FA but instead of authenticating for security purposes, it is confirming identity for tracking/censorship purposes.

what do you mean?

>he doesn't know about how bullshit 2FA is if it's through a mobile phone

instead of green text memeing me why don't you just spill it out? sounds like you don't know what is is either.

>he still doesn't know

google isn't selling your data.
Nobody in the whole fucking world can make more money off your data than google themselves, so selling it would be utter stupidity and devaluing the very means of profit they have.

How is this even related to the post you replied to? Are you schizophrenic or something?

use a burner

Make an account from a Gingerbread android

People buy botnet access and mass signup new accounts with the connections proxied through the botnet. Asking for a cell makes that harder, or at least expensive enough not to be worthwhile. Also people forget their passwords alot especially when they rarely login, but I personally don't enable cell phone based recovery.

>Nobody in the whole fucking world can make more money off your data than google themselves

Please consider that if the amount of money Google makes from using your data is A, then the amount of money they'd make if they sold your data would be A+1 (as they would still have a copy themselves to use). Therefore they have no reason to NOT sell your data.

Maybe A would get smaller if they sold the data, eg because of scandals.

Guess i'll sell those accounts now.

nifty bypass although you haft to pay a few dollars...
receivesmsonline.eu/index.html

I just made one this is false

buy a shitty prepaid phone with cash

This, I tried it a few hours ago.
What if I have no phone number, what the fuck?

A year or two ago there was still a way around it, either by not filling it in, or using the mobile site to register, or using a different country's Google site. I haven't checked back since then to see if any workarounds still work, though.

>be above criticism

who implied this?

OP didn't say moblies and yes it takes moblie numbers

the point of having a phone number is that should your account get deleted google sends you a txt in code if you type in the verity the code the then you can delete details and accounts and change shit
the phone number be it land line or moble just lets google AI know its really you.
tells google you are the real owner its is suppose to protect you from hackers and identity thief etc.

I created a Google account without giving them a phone number
>be installing Android x86 ICS in a VM
>asks if I want to log in or create an account
>click create
>enter a name, desired email and password
>solve captcha
>acquire account
Old versions of Android didn't prompt for a phone number, and didn't associate your account with one if the device in question didn't have one.

If you leave the mobile field blank it doesn't matter. It's just implied that it's required by the UI design. I've done this many times.

Implied? It's outright required. Leaving it blank makes a red message appear stating that it's required, and it doesn't accept it until you enter your number.

Perhaps you used it back before it was required.

One of the main reasons why their services aren't abused for botnets.

Use Yandex.

I can in my country.

Change the birthdate to make it below 18 years old, and it won't ask for phone n number.

This also more security

>just werks
>coincidentially street view shits itself and sends me kms away from the place im trying to view
Theres no winning with the botnet, I should just give up and embrace it.

Fuck me the amount of Google shills in this thread

What country? I tried this exact method and didn't work, seems like they checked if I had previously tried to create an account and still asked for a confirmation number. Too lazy to set up a proxy that time.

But it's bullshit. I don't want my name nor my phone on a google database linked to my emails.
>its is suppose to protect you from hackers
Only it's doing the opposite because now the one thing a malicious person has to do is get in your phone.

If you leave it blank it can do two things. One it's flashing a red box and message saying it's required. Two it advance you to the next screen who only ask you one thing : your phone number.
You can't progress and get the account without a phone number.

Last year you could, just leave it blank and it's alright. Sometimes it would give you the 'phone number verification' screen but you could bypass it by clicking a small "choose email verification". But today you can't.

There is outlook.com I guess. Sometimes they ask for a verification code, sometimes they don't.

Can anyone confirm this?

Civilized countries these days require a form of ID to be presented when purchasing a pre-paid phone

sim cards are like $1, omg muh shekels

*cucked countries
Land of Freedom indeed.

>topic on an email service
>apply it to a nation's governing

You're trying way too hard. You're a retard if you apply 1 piece of thought to everything in existence you dumb fuck. If you don't like how a country is being run you make a change peacefully or by force. If you don't like the terms of an optional free email service, do you want to take them to court? Or do you instead just use something else?

>Doing the wrong thing while being within your rights is still wrong
>try and fuck over your user and be above criticism
>the user

Its during the SIGN UP process you dumb cunt. You are not a 'user' at that point and you can turn 360 degrees and walk away if you don't like it. I understand your point if this happened later and they locked your account until you provided a phone number.

Are you people fucking 14 years old or something?

>Are you people fucking 14 years old or something?

You already know the answer to this question

I created a new account like a week ago and it didn't ask for a number. Just leave the field blank

I wasn't going to share this with you, faggots, but I'm in a good mood and I will.

You can make an account with your ordinary browser you use every day, without changing shit or using VMs/creating accounts through your phone.

The key is the birth date. Say you're under 18 and you can skip the part where they NEED your phone number. I've been doing this for ages now for my throwaway accounts.

dude you are credit to team. thank you

Why would you want Google account?
Just use other non-spy email company.

Hell yeah, you just scored one for the good guys.

If people actually think this works...

It worked for me right now, though.

There's many other things that trigger whether it asks for the number to be verified. Just tried it right now, made the birth date August 1 2005 and it asked for verification.

Are you running some kind of blocking addon(s)? I know they can require your number, even if you say you're underaged (when multiple registrations have been made quickly in succession from your computer; I've experienced that on my phone).

I'm sorry for not being well-versed in this, but I only browse Cred Forums on occasion; /biz/ and Cred Forums are my home boards.

>bringing up communism when it doesn't have anything to do with the subject at hand: CHECK

I totally hadn't seen this post over ten thousand times already.

>Deleted a Facebook account
>Kinda thought about making a new one since I want to use it as a messenger
>Phone number obligatory
>Your dog's name, cat's name, penis size, pornography preference, blood type, school grades, university grades, etc.
>into the trash it goes

Kinda hate that I am left without options for communicating with others given that Facebook doesn't give XMPP access.

They offer a lot of free services and want to make sure no one is abusing them.

It's fine though, because it brings in an extra $1500 in buttcoins a month for me

Let me guess, you just wanted to hack someones google account and it asked you for the verification code sent via sms since you're trying to log in from a new ip/device, right?

Nah, he probably wanted to make a throwaway account.

You can't, they detect every online SMS service or call forwarding service.

you won the internet today

This doesn't work, I've tried this. The account will initially be created but you will not be able to log into it without first setting up a phone number. Additionally if you try to use an account created this way to log into Google Play on Android, the entire account will be suspended.

See

It varies depending on when you're trying to create it.
You could try at some other time and maybe get lucky.

But I don't recommend using a Google account nowadays if you're not willing to give them your number.
They'll try to force it out of you many times and maybe even lock you out of your account if you don't do it.

>required to add phone number to throwaway email before it will let me in again
There goes years of emails. Do no evil my ass

Considering all of this talk of data as an investment by google--this raises one question that I've had for awhile

Will Google ever mandate websites to be "javascript-free friendly", in order to maintain a high rank on their results pages, like they did with "responsiveness"/media queries? I can't imagine them ever encouraging javascript-disabled browsing because of AdSense. In fact, turning off javascript and attempting to browse most of their sites just breaks the shit all together

Will Google even ever acknowledge that turning off javascript is viable way to browse the internet?

Meant Google Analytics rather than AdSense

Exactly. I used to recommend Gmail years ago and now I regret it. Know a couple of people that got locked out of them and barely got back in.

It's become this turbo normie shit for retards with 2FA and phone requirements out the ass.

Unless you have some pressing need (business), stay the fuck away from Google accounts.
There are still enough alternatives out there (and no, I don't mean shit like outlook.com, that's even worse).

>tfw I don't have a phone number

Why bother if I only have two contacts, both of them family members?

daily reminder that if you do this they can tie your phone number to your Cred Forums posts.

Does anybody actually give a fuck about "Security" in a fucking Google account? I only ever use mine for signing up to forums that won't accept Guerillamail and for making a fuckload of Jewtube channels to shitpost with.

What are good alternatives for throw-away email accounts?

Why even use Google?

>Facebook
>require scanned government ID to verify who you really are

I shit you not. Had a fake account which was deactivated. Only way to get it back was to verify who I was.

Why not Hotmail?

same as twitter. those bakas

Because Hotmail doesn't let me make 30 YouTube channels for shits and giggles

This is the future you chose goy.

>death threats

fucking dumbasses all of you. I just made a gmail account 2 seconds ago and it DID NOT force me to enter a phone number. I hate Google as much as the next one of you but come on, you are getting mad at fake shit.

I remember when anything asking for your phone number and address was to be treated with suspicion. Internet privacy has lost almost all of its value in the space of like 10 years and it's only getting worse.

I'm waiting for something like requiring your fingerprint to access the internet soon, it wouldn't even fucking surprise me. Normies won't care because muh nuffink to hide.

>try to make one with an under 18 birthdate
>won't let me make an account cause of some amerilaw that protects minor's information
>if i try again saying i'm 15 it sends me back to the same murrikan govt page
>i probably got marked as a pedorrist in some list as well

You mean every fucking email out there now? I'm considering getting a burner just for new email addresses.

cock.li doesn't require a phone number

If you get a second page in a Google account registration asking for your phone number so they can verify you, it means you're flagged for making too many accounts recently. Gotta cool off bro and they won't ask for it after making an account.

mail.com

>registered last month

USAland.

It only works for Android ICS. Newer versions demand a phone number. And accounts made with ICS do appear to demand a phone number due to "suspicious activity" if you later log into them on something else.

Because goy, you can trust us

This happens all the time. I really don't even know if hey had my number, they might have. Did they have yours? Your moms? Your grandmas?
Once they have control over your phone number, any account with any company that uses text/call account recovery is free for the taking.
>they say all the my dox got stolen
>yahoo then has the gull to say "they are working diligently and cooperating with law enforcement to protect me"

Seriously, FUCK yahoo so much. How are they going to wait TWO YEARS before warning their customers that they had their shit stolen.

Im not even mad that my shit was taken, Im mad that:
>they had such shit security
>they stored unencrypted information on the servers
and most importantly
>they took TWO FUCKING YEARS to tell people "yea, your life savings could have been stolen at any point in the last two years and are still vulnerable, WHOOPS"

Its this kind of shit that is why you should NEVER give companies more information than they need.

Same thing for Yahoo, Hotmail and others.

I know that's a meme and everything but it really pisses me off when people say that nothing to hide thing. Why can't I just not want shitty corporations like Yahoo to have my real phone number or real name?

They've proven they have shit security, so they should be the ones that have to explain themselves. Why do they want it?

You can register without a phone number dumbass

Yeah you can register with another email address that also wants your phone number.

I literally don't understand why people believe this. What actual evidence exists that Google is straight up selling people's data?

Why the fuck would any company want that data aside from marketing purposes? It would be easier to buy lists of random phone numbers or emails that tons of other companies sell. The fuck can they do with all the other shit you have? What can they do with some random ass person's vacation photos in their Google drive or their emails in their gmail account?

I legitimately can't think of anything. Please tell me anyone.

Thankfully Protomail and Tutanota exist, I'm seriously thinking about using these as my main emails insted of spam junk emails. They look way better than fucking Yahoo and Outlook.

it's called a fucking burner phone

outlook looks pretty good

Not only that, awhile ago fucking Social Security demanded to have your cell phone number or you couldn't get online statements anymore! Lasted a few weeks until I got a second email saying "because of concerns yadayada we're postponing requiring cell phones" Fucking incredible.

But it's not you phone number they want (landline). It's your CELL PHONE they want. Cell phones are the fastest growing computers in the world. You carry them everywhere. Where they are, you are. Think about it anons, if you wanted to have complete control of the people, how to you go about it? First, you take away their power (i.e. wealth). Second, you track them. Now this works to a point. You still have people who have prepaid cell phones that you aren't required to register. That's where Social Security and Google come in and require that number because they know you'll give your cell (landline phones are dying and you don't use them for text messages).

It simply blows my mind I'm living in an age where tin foil hat shit is real and hardly nobody gives a shit.

I'll play.

>What actual evidence exists that Google is straight up selling people's data?
I'll ignore this question.

The resultant data from profiling the endless users of Google's services doesn't sound like a gold mine to you? Are you sure you're not 12?

you can, wtf?

>google

What the hell are you talking about OP ?
>pic related : no phone number (it inssist that I add it tho)

Don't like it? Don't use it. It's pretty simple.

Use Protonmail and LOVE it. You know you can trust a service for privacy when they have state-level sponsored DDoS attacks against them.

It has asked the last few times I checked, too

>I'll ignore this question.
Why?

>The resultant data from profiling the endless users of Google's services doesn't sound like a gold mine to you?
It does, for marketing purposes. But aside from that I personally can't think of any other reason. If anyone can just name something obvious I'll concede that and think I'm dumb for not thinking of it.

Too bad to site runs like ass.

>to

>not using Protonmail

You seem like the type who'll treat no response as an affirmation. Yet, I don't believe I can give you any dignified response, because for all I know/suspect you may just want to start an argument or shitposting contest.

Nevertheless, the answers you seek are out there, if you truly seek them, since what you ask is inappropriate in this context.

But you still can...

governments have pretty deep pockets

Eurofag here, i literally made an account a month ago without any of that crap

>You seem like the type who'll treat no response as an affirmation. Yet, I don't believe I can give you any dignified response, because for all I know/suspect you may just want to start an argument or shitposting contest. Nevertheless, the answers you seek are out there, if you truly seek them.

I don't want to argue or shitpost. I know that it's rare for actual discussions to take place on this website. I'm just genuinely curious and confused about certain things. And no, I won't take a lack of response as an affirmation.

I'm asking you because you seem like you've read more into the topic than me, because it sounds to me like you're implying that you've seen direct evidence of Google selling user data to companies. I've heard the claim a lot and in my own search to find the truth, I haven't come up with anything. Maybe I'm just really shitty at searching for this shit. It's just that every time I ask people on Cred Forums if anyone could please point me in the direction of tangible evidence, no one does.

I'll admit I'm pretty clueless about the datamining stuff though.

>since what you ask is inappropriate in this context.
I'm not sure what you mean by that.

But Google doesn't sell data to the US government. The government forces them to hand it over.

Would make sense that other governments would be willing to pay for it, but I feel like the US government is cozy enough with them to prevent that. Not that it's impossible, I just feel like it's unlikely. Of course if I saw evidence of it, I'd concede. I think it'd probably be cheaper for other major governments to spend money trying to hack into that info rather than buy it. Something that they're probably doing/trying to do anyway in some capacity.

>Of course if I saw evidence of it, I'd concede.
I have no evidence. I'm just conjecturing because alphabets have already spent a lot of taxpayer money on purchasing 0-days, vulnerability information, rootkits, remote admin tools etc; that cryptome dump a few years ago before Snowden was eye opening and disheartening. I'm reminded of the adage "don't build it if you can buy it" and Niggle is sitting there with all that ripe, delicious, organized data.

I should add, I don't think they would be able to compel niggle to share all their data without some serious quid pro quo, even if it's not directly monetary; they're not a tiny corporation.

taxpayer money?

You can.

Stop being retarded.

Like you """need""" a Google account.

The only thing you "need" to participate online as an e-mail address and that one doesn't need to end with @gmail.com

Which country?

I'm pretty sure it depends on the country.

google checks your user history on other sites/devices before deciding if it should allow you to make an account without a phone number.

Jewgle is tied in deeply to US government and their war machine.

If some goy steps out of line maybe their family photos will start having some value.

If you create a google account they are going to record every move you make on any google site or app or anything you do on your android phone and use to form a profile on you. They literally will keep a record of your phones gps trail and show it to you, your phone number is one of the less creepy ways they stalk you

don't be logged in h24, only to read/send mails

>virtually any popular website or service in 2016

(I did read the entire thread, so far)

Anyway, two things:
1) pic related ... it seems google is re-organizing how they're services work. This is probably part of that.

2) anyone know if you can use the same phone number several times for setting up different accounts?

I have about a dozen google accounts (for several reasons) to compartmentalize activities ... and, 6 or 7 of them are variations of my name so that someone else can't take those accounts and spoof as me (don't laugh, I've had that happen).

I don't put any of my phone numbers onto any of my accounts, and there are quite a few good reasons not to, including identity theft. Any way ... just wondering if I HAVE to do that, will google block multiple accounts if they detect the same number being used on any of them?

I guess three, also:
3) notice the official address for google in Ireland. I'll suggest that people are getting different behavior from google sign-ups depending upon location due to differences in laws in different regions.

In the U.S., of course, you get no protections because you are clearly a terrorist until proven in a court of law to be possibly not.
