Companies regularly opt to hire freelancers because they know they can not pay them and they won't be sued because the company can just wait them out in an expensive legal battle until they disappear.

I used to be essentially a NEET for a few months, when I lost a job, and it took me way to long to find a new one, and I hated it.
I even had lots of money in the bank and a quite high unemployment check every month, so I could have partied all day everyday, but I just felt like shit after the first few weeks. No energy for nothing, bored out of my mind, slightly depressed and lost my physical fitness too.
Then I just found a job as some low tier helper monkey in a construction company (I have a MSc degree, and was working in white-as-white can be collar consulting before) and finally I felt better again, got the energy to enjoy life again, and managed to find a proper job soon.
tl;dr: Neet and proud of it?
