Nope actually that's incorrect, my 27" 4k monitor looks magnificent and I'll be replacing it with an 8k one if the same size as soon as I can. No such thing as too much pixel density. 4k is the go-to resolution for now, at any size. You bet your ass we'll have 4k phones too.

The only problem with 4k screens at the moment is a lot of applications are either scaled passively by the OS or have improper scaling. So it's kind of going to be a meme until developers get their shit together, and until 1080p is deprecated, a lot of small-time applications are just going to use passive scaling. Otherwise, the difference is noticeable, even on a 23 inches screen.

You don't always have to have the best and latest technology, guys. I think it's because of this presumption that you're making fun of 4k. But that's false. If you don't need 4k then don't use 4k. That's where it will end for at least a few good years before 4k becomes cheap and accessible. I bet the first OS that expects 4k by default is going to have an HD-compatible mode so even then, no big deal.

the 1080p looks like shit compared to it, just need graphics cards to catch up so you don't need the top model to power it.
