So, its official. U.S gave up control of the Internet. What now Cred Forums?
So, its official
American reign of the internet is over, no longer do we have to tone back the banter in the case of another yank getting so assblasted they have to go make a hashtag on tumbler to start yet another hugbox
please don't post hate symbols on this peaceful board
fuck off newfriend
We hack the government!
No but seriously pepe is an overused normie meme. It needs to be cut out like the cancer it is.
Its control by a company based in california stupid
Literally nothing changes you ignorant fat fuck.
not any more
Now you get to worry about your own government banning access to porn and bacon websites. salam alaikum faggot
Are you retarded?
It's absolutely still with ICANN.
pepe was just defamed by the anti defamation league.
By killing him, they have made him stronger than we could ever immagine..
could someone meme him onto obiwan being slain by darth killary?
this would be eepic
Anything digital out of US's hands
Who gives a shit? Most of the best programmers I've seen in the past few years aren't American. I'd become a citizen of another country just to learn from some of them. And I don't mean Indians. That place smells.
What now Cred Forums?
An internet free from idiocy?
ICANN will remain in control.
Only difference is: currently the US government supervises ICANN.
But in the future a special UN organization will supervise ICANN.
Some American politicians still try to stop it to score cheap votes.
The American public is completely ignorant on how the internet works, but they hate the UN becasue they tried to stop them from fucking up Iraq, so they will vote for "anti-UN" politicians.
If the transfer is cancelled, countries like Russia and China will likely start their own separate domain system.
countries like Russia and China will likely start their own separate domain system.
is this a bad thing?
Hell no, if it means that russians and chinese will fuck off to their own third world internet and we never have to hear about them again.
Now we rejoice frogposter.
It will make world wide communication more complicated.
For example you'll probably have to specify you want the American version of Cred Forums.org, and not the Russian or Chinese Cred Forums.org
Something like America://Cred Forums.org to replace http:// could work though.
can't meme the pepe
they will vote for "anti-UN" politicians
sounds good to me
Say would you will about the US government, but I'd rather have them than the UN controlling things. Most of the world include Europe have less freedom of speech than the US and with the general Muslim influence in enough countries, they could cause problems further down the line. China is already firewalled and regulated so that's a laughably idle threat.
Where is the internet now? What if the terrorist steal it?!
countries like Russia and China will likely start their own separate domain system
I thought WWW stood for World Wide Web, not USA Web?
W is the sixth Hebrew letter
WWW = 666
