Sup Cred Forums. I haven't had much of a chance to watch many movies for the past couple of years, so I've mostly been buying or renting a couple here or there. Now I've got more time on my hands and want to catch up. Thing is, last time I was torrenting, you could just hit tpb without worrying about getting letters. Am I correct in thinking that the way to go now is just pay to use a VPN and keep using TPB? Or do I really have to go through the whole pain in the ass of getting into a private tracker?

Private trackers are really no more secure than public ones - if you can get in, so can MPAA reps.

A VPN or a remote seedbox are your best ways to avoid letters.

Cool, thanks. I was hoping that was still viable since it's relatively inexpensive. Any particular VPN you recommend? I'm going to do some research anyway but I figured I'd ask.

Some VPN providers blocking torrents. So you have to watch out for torrent VPNs/included torrent VPN server

Just don't go for anything recent. They watch that shit like hawks.

I use a seedbox service.

* Search TPB/KAT, copy magnet link
* Paste link into the web-based torrent client
* Wait
* Access file over HTTP, SFTP, etc

excuse me for being a noob, what is a seedbox?

You pay monthly for an account on a server. You use a web UI to add torrents; it looks just like a normal torrent client, but the actual torrenting and storage is happening on the server.

When done, you can leave the files seeding (thus the name) and of course download them to your own machine to watch.

Not But, a seedbox is like a nas, which is hosted remotely. You pay for it monthly, depending on how much storage space and speed is required, the more it will cost. It downloads it from the tracker, and then you download from it, which your isp would not be alerted by.

its coming

...

clever, thank you user

>tfw torrenting is allowed in my country
>tfw monitoring other people's internet traffic is illegal and evidence based on data gathered by illegal means is invalid
>tfw downloaded and seeded many TBs over the years without VPN / proxy and never gotten a letter or bandwidth throttling
feels comfy man

I mean I did this and I'm american for everything I've torrented and never got any issues but lately I got a new comp and now I'm sketched out just looking for games

Why?

because kat isn't a thing anymore and the best options are private trackers and some sketchy russian site

Honestly during the height of my pirating years and the amount of data I've downloaded I'm surprised I've not gotten a letter or something.
But I really don't use it much anymore, just once in a blue moon.

Why isnt tpb an option?

..is it?

i thought that went down too.

So how about cyberlockers? I don't think I've heard of anyone getting caught for downloading.

tpb is honeypot that's why the feds no longer hassle it

what country?

VPN but you've also gotta know how to make killswitches n shit.

My ISP doesn't block or send letters regarding torrents. The main problem I have is actually finding stuff these days. TPB has a lot of stuff but seemingly not many sharers, plus it's a case of finding a working mirror all the time. Are there are any better alternatives other than YIFY's shite "HD" stuff?

what the fuck do the feds honey pot with it?
Didnt think they cared about movies music and gaymes

you must be 18 or over to post here. go watch an VHS tape to learn about the feds.

Ive been here since you were still shitting your pants.

yify.tv

Olly, fetch me my sword

letters as in warnings for illegal downloads? For once I'm glad I live in a 3rd world country.

You shouldn't make someone for being incontinent just because you're shit at using Google to find a decent VPN setup

These days it's cease and desist notices, followed by subpoenas and court orders. If you're lucky your ISP will save you by just turning off your internet, but they can also just send your name and address to the copyright owner if they want to

American freedoom

Gotta love America. Land of freedom for many things as carrying a gun to wallmart... But you get japanese porn mosaics in mouths on TV for people saying "shit" and letters for using torrent.

>invest millions in a movie to sell it
>people torrent it and watch it for free
>invest millions in a TV series to sell it
>people torrent it and watch it for free
>invest millions in a game
>people torrent it and play it for free
>implying torrenting copyrighted stuff isn't literally digital stealing
>complaining that they can't steal shit in peace

Why go back?

I was doing this and I somehow managed to disable the internet on my computer permanently.

Even uninstalling the VPN, changing the settings back and reinstalling the network drivers couldn't fix it. I have no idea what the fuck happened.

A system restore from a few hours before cured it but still its weird.

>Spend countless hours on an album
>Person buys CD
>Person pirates FLAC because it isn't available to purchase
>Invest millions in entertainment media
>Person buys DVDs
>Person pirates HD version because they don't sell it anywhere
>Invest millions in software
>Person pirates it because disc is damaged, lost serial, etc
There are more ethical reasons than just wanting free shit, dude
