Looks like the plastic caps on the back unscrew. Put the naked wire around the post and screw the cap down to secure the wires. Keep the red wire on the red post to avoid confusing which one is the hot one.

Youre good to go. those terminals on the back unscrew and you can connect the wires, or you can get banana posts.

There have been a number of pleather pads that have been sold as mods but I don't think there has ever been an official pleather pad from Sennheiser.

I believe you are the first person I've ever seen complain about velour pads on a headphone. You might try searching on ebay or hitting up head-fi for pleather pads for the 580/600/650 since they all use the same pads.

Another option that I just though of is maybe check Alibaba as well. Replacement pads aren't high tech.
