we had our first wave of rock groups in the 60s like Breakout. often credited with recording Poland's first rock record in 1968. there wasn't so much in the 70s since after Prague Spring, commies became scared and tightened censorship.

During the height of the counterculture era, every rock band was pretty much political, but by 1972 as that started winding down, you had the birth of mindless commercial buttrock like Kiss and Doobie Brothers.
