Can a Russian explain this new Siberian homestead policy? Do they seriously expect people to go to Siberia for one hectare of land?
Can a Russian explain this new Siberian homestead policy...
Free land you say?
>one hectare
you can't do shit with that in a place like Siberia desu
If they want Siberia inhabited by now they should just go full Australia-founding tier, they also should ask any immigrants into Russia to live there for much more benefits
1.It's not for foreigners
2.Nit exactly in Siberia but mostly in the Far east.
3.People whi really need this usually take some hectars with their friends/family and combine them.
exactly
Siberia gonna melt soon. Then people will be Rollin in crops and Inuit tang while you back in the states dtownin
See I keep hearing conflicting info on the 'foreigners' thing. I read that foreigners can receive the land but must become a Russian citizen within a certain timeframe or something. The family combining thing is smart, but if you don't have anyone I guess you just reach out to people and do it? It still seems like in a place like the Russian far east you should get more than 1 hectare of land.
The Far east has not that much land thag can be good for anything. And even less of that can be approached with modern infrustructure and they try to give lands that are not somewhere in the middle of nowhere. And I only heard rhat it is not for foreigners and that's it.
Theres no internet tho, and I doubt there are stores either do they expect people to colonize it from nothing or will the govt build some infrastructure
Right now they only give lands that are easilly approachable with already existing roads. The internet is not a problem here. It is cheap and easy accessible by many means and providers usually connect everything people build very fast.
how many people are doing it?
Makes more sense for the far east, Primorsky Krai isn't very different from Japan, and Russia needs to stop the chink horde.
Like 200 people got their land for the first year of program.
>Primorsky Krai
i like how russia makes all names so simple
does that name have some significance or are you being sarcastic because its gibberish to me
Primorski means "Close to the sea" (more means sea and pri means approaching to something). And Krai means land/rim just like in slovak language.
It would probably work if Russia had the economy for it, and the drive for capitalism that the US had during the 1800s.
>drive for capitalism
What's that?
Nobody just really wants to spend the whole his life on building something that may give some results only for his kids. Everyone wants to get millions from somewhere, buy a house, a car etc etc etc.
Hm how about foreign but ethnic russians?
First of all there is a special program for such ones about giving them a citizenship. Mostly russians from central Asia use it. And after that you are welcome.
>homestead policy built the American west
>"Nah, it can't work in Russia," says OP
when has anything ever worked in russia
They should give a bit more no? 1ha is not a lot to move your whole life east and become a farmer.
where do I sign up?
