Dia Daoibh, a chairde!
Cad é mar atá sibh innui?
Best Eire whiskey?
>JOI
>Acronym for Jerk Off Instructions
>A POV porn niche where the porn girls give explicit and detailed instructions on how to jerk off
I've become a fan of Tullamore Dew
I fap to it regularly.
But I don't really follow the instructions or anything.
I just kind of like seeing their faces when they talk in an arousing manner.
Bumpáilte
Dia is Muire duit. Táim go maith, ach táim ag mothú beagnach tuirseach faoi láthair.
Cad fútsa?

Táim go hiontach ar fad

Tá mé go maith inniu, a chairde.
What do you think of Ulsterisms like tá mé, muid and tífidh?
What's tiocfaidh ár lá in Uladh scots
tá an-mhuinín acu, úsáideann siad scátháin
Good lads
Tá mé is pretty much standard, no?
Muid is what I was taught to use in school (in Dublin).
Can't say I've heard of tífidh being used. Is that like chífidh - will see?
what the fuck is this, buzzfeed for jackeens?
Just say 'ur dey wil cum'
Shure it's just badly spelt English.
Someone told me that those first two were more prevalent in Ulster, I took a 101 class in uni from an anthropologist who spent all her time in Donegal. As such, I don't quite know what's standard and what's backwater. It's fun to trigger people from down south by saying go raibh maith agat like "guh row my AH-gut".
Tífidh is an Ulster variant of chífidh according to Wiktionary.
How is your spoken Irish?
Do you practice it or is just a once off thing?
I'm a novice at essentially everything, some basic phrases, my final exam had the past and present tenses of the 11 irregular verbs. It's hard to work on it when there's no one around to speak it with.
If you'd like, I can record myself reading a passage and voocaroo it here, I'd love some feedback actually. Maybe something out of my copy of "An Hobad"?
post your rare memes
I haven't the book on hand. I'll look for a pdf. But you could give it a go. An easier way would be do your introduction.
X is ainm dom, Tá mé i mo chónaí i Meiriceá etc.
I have a copy, but I'll do that first. P-please no bully...
you have better irish than me desu lad
No bully, it's pretty good desu.
>Hello friends
>Liam(?) is ainm dom
>Táim i mo chónaí i Meiriceá
>Ba mhaith liom pionta Guinness
>Go raibh maith agat
You got your message across perfectly, and sure is that not the point of speaking?
Right you are. Thanks, lads.
emmmmmmm
trump clinton debate tomorrow
who /hype/ here?
buafaidh Trump
#DhéanannMeiriceáMórArís
apparently trump has a small bit of scots gaelic since his mother was from the hebrides
ill be watching it even though i probably won't pay much attention to it coz i dont care that much and i have to be up early
>irish
you'd have to be some boring cunt to look that up when you're having a wank
ive got slightly more reason to care since everyone will be watching and everyone in town will be seething with rage at whatever he says
if he wins the butthurt will be hilarious around here
do you live in a blue state?
>tfw no average irish gf
iktf
Chuir cara liom a mhéar fhada inti taobh amuigh den dioscó faoi aois i gCeatharlach uair amháin
When's it on in our timezone?
Mate of mine fingered her outside an underage disco in Carlow once
i live in the bluest town in a heavily blue state
funny thing is most of illinois is red, only chicago is thoroughly blue
pic related, the gubernatorial election of 2014. rauner won, but just barely
Mate of mine fingered her outside an underage disco in Carlow once
How is it majority Republican when it's majority black?
02:00 Tuesday morning, to 03:30.
It'll be aired on CNN, Fox and various options channels if you have Sky.
i believe the nignogs congregate in the blue part
NEVER FORGET
It'll be on sky news
>2 in the marnin
No thanks, ill stream it later
>options
*other
the republican parts are all white
thing is, i live in the one blue county, and out of the 12 million people in the state, like 5 and a half million live in that one single county
compare
en.m.wikipedia.org
en.m.wikipedia.org
en.m.wikipedia.org
so essentially, illinois is white and conservative while cook county and chicago are diverse and liberal
This map really speaks to how empty Illinois is outside of Chicagoland
>Muh Hillary
blacks really are brainwashed
if you go further, the chicago metropolitan area is 10 million people
rockford is another 300,000, then the st louis metro in illinois is 700,000. springfield is 200,000. thats like a half a million people outside major cities.
ive actually never been further from chicago than aurora
haigh a leaideanna. an mhuintear an difiear sa fuaimniú idir na gcosan caol agus leathan sna gaeilscoileanna? no an dhirodh ar scriobh agus "as long as you're speaking Irish it's ok" memery.
btw please point out how bad I butchered that. the reason I ask is because I've listened to some people who speak Irish but don't really pronounce soft consonants, which seems odd since making things soft often has a grammatical meaning.
literally paying €190 to sleep in a poxy folding es in the corner of somebodies living room in Dublin for the week
This is what I get for getting a job and trying to make something of my life
What's the fuckin point fuck this I'm just about done
When you have four/five main accents (Ulster, Connacht, Munster, "Standard Irish" and I argue Northern Irish), pronunciation differs vastly.
Like the way I said "go raibh maith agat" in is very much a Belfast/Donegal thing, other speakers have accused me of fucking it up completely but one time another Ulster speaker backed me up.
If I'm not careful, I'll turn all of my slender t's into "ch" and d's into "dzh", from where you get "chucky ar lah".
