Why would anyone ever need to take an actual I.Q. test? Is it used for anything except assessing mental disease/brain damage?

I've taken a legit IQ test, not some stupid online one and got a score of 107

iq-test being extremely questionable aside, its even strange to give them academic test because you need a data to PREDICT the capability of the programee, not a data of what they're already learned, would be too hard to determine the scope of the test

Never taken an IQ test, but I'd say I'm in the upper average column. I'm definitely not a genius but I can be quite articulate when I want to be.
