That's also what I love. The architecture can not only be found at individual houses, instead, huge parts of your entire lands are designed (often because the land was literally created by you). Usually you have a whole concept not only for the houses, but also for the overall appearance of your streets, districts and whole cities. I don't know another country that does this as consequent as the Netherlands.

I disagree. Granted, you sometimes need some sensitivity for it and some cases are tricky, but e.g. with music it's mostly possible without knowing the artist. I think one reason is local trends, so one simply does the same "odd" thing his neighbor does. The other reason are impacts of other aspects of the specific environment, like nature, climate, culture, ...
