Oh...maybe it's best for us non-native speakers to learn Canadian accent... since it's so neutral.
>schools >teaching students anything about grammar tip top kekaroni
>recognising foreign dialects Yank English is wrong.
Here are the mistakes I make: >10 No. >9 No. >8 No. >7 No. >6 No. >5 No. >4 No (Yank dialect major offender). >3 No (but his explanation is lacking here). >2 No (Yank dialect major offender). >1 No.
Turns out his list is a list of mistakes that moron "native" speakers (especially Yanks) make, not mistakes that sensible people make.
Justin Watson
To the untrained ear they sound very similar, but Kiwis have a very silly way of pronouncing their vowels (i = u, a = e, etc)
Michael Reed
School has an "english" class which in earlier years is just about teaching and practicing grammar
In your final school years it turns into being just about analysing books for abstract themes like "belonging" or something equally bullshit and useless
Their e sounds like the French é if you know what I mean.
Ryder Davis

The most common would be when listing a group of people including yourself >Me, user and japanon is incorrect
>user, japanon and I is correct
You put yourself at the end of the list and refer to yourself as "I" rather than "Me"

I didn't bother watching the video past the first minute so I don't know the caliber of mistakes it showed All I know is that the I/me thing is something I see people do wrong on a daily basis, but correcting them would be too autistic
Brandon Walker
This is a helpful rule of thumb, but it isn't always right.
To figure out whether "I" or "me" is correct, you should consider the sentence without the other people.
I must go to the bank. The person going to the bank will be me. (NOT: The person going to the bank will be I.)
You, user and I must go to the bank. The people going to the bank will be you, user and me. (NOT: The people going to the bank will be you, user and I.)

What really annoys me is when people write "lose" as "loose". So many people make that mistake, including native speakers.

>The people going to the bank will be you, user and me. >(NOT: The people going to the bank will be you, user and I.)
No, it's not wrong, and I provided the reasoning as to why it's not wrong.

Some of the mistakes he mentioned have become so common that they're almost not even considered grammatically incorrect any more, at least in casual speech.
Alexander Martinez

Use this method:
>(You and) I will be going to the bank
Tyler Miller
>You, user, and I will be the people going to the bank. >I will be the person going to the bank. That's fine.
Right, the real rule is the distinction between different types of pronoun (specifically whether the person is subject or object), but my explanation will always give the right answer according to this rule.

The rule is for determining which first-person pronoun to use when including oneself in a list. It doesn't say which of your examples is right (and a knowledge of this is necessary to use the rule). >You will be going to the bank with user and me. >NOT: You will be going to the bank with user and I. I feel like the verb should be "coming", though.
Descriptive grammarianism is for English teachers.

>と感じるそうです。試験の英語だったら×もらいそうですが、彼の仲間内ではいちばん自然な表現は me and my cousin になるようです。これはnativeによっても感じ方が違うかも。
Kevin Allen
>1. My cousin and I went to the library last Sunday. Correct
>2. I and my cousin went to the library last Sunday. Incorrect
>あづさ: Me and my cousin went to the library last Sunday. Incorrect
>>あづさ: but usually you say "me and my cousin" and that is the most comfortable/natural way to say the sentence. "Me and my cousin" is the uneducated, grammatically incorrect way to say it. Some people do speak like this but they are wrong
