Nile are absolute shit live. I went to one of their shows last year that was the most awkward thing ever.

I have mixed feelings about Astronoid. They tried to sell themself as some shitty trascendental black metal retardation, but under the production they are a somewhat listenable early Bullet For My Valentine metalcore. I don't think I like it, but whatever.

They sound warm and crackly like vinyl. I just think they're cool. It's analog so the stereophonic qualities are even better especially if you use good headphones.

I saw them right before Annihilation of the wicked came out. They weren't bad. Black Dahlia murder opened, lol so many scene kids kicking and swing around). Then behemoth played, fucking sick then. That was the first BM band I'd seen live at that point. Then Nile came on. The crowd was rowdy but Nile seemed really into it. Maybe they've gotten older? Also King Diamond closed and was FUCKING EXCELLENT. One of the best shows I've been too, definitely my favorite one from my high school days.

I buy tapes because they're cheap as shit and fun to collect. Vinyl is way too damn expensive and fragile, though having the art is great. For the most part, collectors haven't inflated the price of tapes to nearly the same degree.
