I used to be grass/rock, which is the typing of my favorite pokemon. I'm probably fighting/ice now.

Rock/Flying, except I know a bunch of moves from most of the other types/genres.

Is Bug/Steel not objectively the best typage? Sure it has a 4x weakness to fire, but it has 1/4 or 1/2 resistance to 8 other types, and is immune to poison.

Yeah bug/steel is a good type, but I'm saying it would be much better if it got rid of that double weakness to fire (basically avoiding revenge kills from fast fire types like this guy ).

Also, Aggron is Steel/Rock.

I said Steel/Rock is the best type AFTER Steel/Bug.

Also, a Scizor with Flash Fire would just be absurdly OP. Right now the only mon with no weakness is Elecktross, and I think he's only resistant to one thing.

Oh whoops, I misread your post somehow. I can buy that, although Focus Blast and Earth Power are fairly common moves.

Yeah, he's pretty easily countered since Focus Blast can be learned by so many different types. Even Earthquake can fuck him up hard.
Mega Aggron is a motherfucker, though. Changes to just steel type so 1.5x weakness to fire, fighting, and ground. Resistant or immune to everything else but water, electric, dark, and ghost. 230 BASE DEFENSE. Obviously still vulnerable to Focus Blast and Earth Power, but much less so than his normal version.

I don't get why people get so obsessive about Pokemon stats. The games are made to be simple and easy to get through. Killing yourself to get the perfect ability and evs/ivs/whatever for your Mon is just overkill.

The real fun of the game is its highly complex battle systems and diversity among the different Pokemon and the different strategies you can pull off. The main game is easy and intended for kids, but if you ever try Pokemon Showdown's random battle mode you can see the full potential of the game's amazing battle system.

I love Pokemon for the character designs and collecting.

I think the real appeal of the game is the different play styles. The game works for people like me and people like you all who are into the competitive scene.
