Description:
"An EP I made."
-AP Macroeconomics
With a name like AP Macroeconomics, you would expect something completely horrible or completely funny. Even some of the song titles would seem like jokes. But behind the oddity of a name, Thomas Meskil presents the listener something totally opposite. Mumbling guitars, cohesively cluttered percussion, somber soaked vocals, humble, like a hug from a wise, old friend. Compatible with lyrics that feel both personal to the man behind the name and universal to all who listen, AP Macroeconomics is definitely a musician to keep your eye on.
Now available for stream and download! CDs available at AP Macroeconomic's bandcamp as well!
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Thomas some love. Thank You. :)
Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

Sorry to say but I find this particular release "lazy". It's sort of lazy that doesn't intrigue and/or want to keep going. I don't know what was an intention behind this album but I guess it's either a very raw test of ideas thrown in just to throw them or that it's something you just did for shits and giggles. And I hope I'm wrong on both of these. Sorry, I don't see anything in this.
Heard "Time's Up" only since your tracks are such beasts. I feel a little progression here and there. And there may be something nice in it but it's dull after a while. Definitely work on progressing your tracks further since after a while it's, well, a mess of repetition. Noisier parts on the end of the track are nice additions but I feel like this track could be shorter and, by that, much more entertaining. The rest is OK in my opinion.
Oh, come on. We can't be dying this fast. Bumpo!

Spending a lot of time in the studio these days preparing the new LP. Also just got a new (much better) bass guitar, which is exciting because it gives us more freedom in that department.

Just sharing my opinion on one of your tracks, on it's own, since I believe all tracks should be looked upon as related to itself firstly. Saying you've never intended this to happen doesn't make it impossible to happen.

oh, nice! i made a vaportrap album using n64 samples only. the album is already done, i'm waiting for my friend, 'cause he's going to make a cover art for it. meanwhile i'm making those videos for it. the concept behind the album is(short): two guys are hanging around in the future (2133) and they decide to search for cool stuff in their basement. they found an old n64 and try to play it but everything is glitchy cause future and bizarre and aesthetic af. the album is the sound of this narrative.
sounds awesome. I got your page bookmarked so I can listen to more of you shit when it comes out. I work purely on a track by track basis. As soon as it's done I like to get it out there. even though no one listens to it. The best way to get people to listen to your shit is to make videos as well. You got to be an internet personality to attain an audience big enough to listen to music that they otherwise would not seek out. So that's why I bought me a nice ass camera.

man i miss silly idm. your production techniques are thoughtful and made me hmm. i guess i don't know why "ambient" is the soft word these days but ok. interesting enough that i listened to most of it and followed your twitter. you're kind of like a creepy ilkae to me i guess
here
i'm gonna tuck into the second piece, don't ask me why
"The Mason-Dixie Coastline"
>pt. 1
really interesting polymeter going on between two pulses, fighting in some kind of heavy distortion at 3 minutes
10 minutes in. still interesting. i wish i had your noise techniques. the hard-cut transitions, however they were made, are particularly effective.
>pt. 2
grossssssss haha love it
rats playing dungeon synths
gets a little less engaging by the end of this one because the first part raises the bar quite a bit
i like that you turned the radio on, but almost wish you left it on the one channel longer
i mean, you're making me listen to this thing like a mahler symphony at this point, might as well recycle some themes. unless of course you just think my human brain is trash. fair enough.
rain is nice
>pt. 3
i appreciate the tape-ish early electronic music effects.

the big transition at 1:30 is nice

I just recorded my first ever song. Should I make a bandcamp page ?
Come on the first minute would have been a great intro to a more conventional album, and the other tracks are really not so necessary
Wait why did you make a giant post featuring codes when the album is free to download already?
Maybe so you can add to your collection?
I am not sure I follow. If you download the album regularly you could add that to your digital collection.
I'm pretty sure the album is a joke. At least, that's how I felt.
Normally I post my good stuff, but I can't see a reason to as I am not getting anywhere in my music.
Thanks for the input
I skimmed through your music and I am just wondering how these songs are good enough to be released? They sound very bland and uninteresting to listen to. I recommend paying more to get your music mastered better, and/or add more stuff to the music. And if they are already mastered then try to get them remastered.
Free downloads don't add to your bandcamp collection.

Just a little free EP. Has good moments.
Nice is that the Trailer Park Boys theme I hear? That's great, I am a big fan of that show. I actually have the theme as my ringtone. I hear clipping, so that got to be cleaned up. Also it is rather enjoyable as a rap song, low key and calming.
Ooh nice. I started with the 4th track. I was worried it would be just a minimal ambient track. It turned out to be a well done rock song. I like the production. It has a different, progressive sound to it to occupancy the rock. Also really cool cover I actually saved it. I find it very amusing.
