Anybody here still listen to the radio?

And I don't mean satellite radio focused on whatever obscure genre, but one of your local radio stations.

I listen to AM sports radio sometimes. It's trash tho

Yeah, Radio 3 and Radio 6 (even though it's digital only). Also Rinse FM.

damn she got old

looks british tbhh

jen jen looking like a hot euro head of state

R1Xtra

why would you listen to am radio

Not really. Only XM radio.

Phone dying and forgot to bring my charger in the car.

I'd rather listen to middle age dudes share their dumb sports takes than the local music stations.

No all internet stations here desu senpai

BBC 6 Music

who /stuartmaconiesfreakzone/ here

KDVS in Davis, California plays some pretty good stuff but I can't get it in my house.

I'll usually just listen to NPR so I can zone out to people talking about penguins or how to interact with your cat or some shit if I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Oh christ

i listen to talk radio, preferably the christian stations that broadcast sermons.

Yeah, I listen to NPR because I'm secretly an old man.

French radio on a Murphy ... it had Blur on and they were a lot better from abroad. Also, sexy french sex talk then some african music in french club.

Stormfront radio

My grandpa does that and he called me to tell me that I was demon possessed and am going to hell apparently before the cops had to chase him down the street. He lives an hour away and owns guns.

I do. Every once in a while I actually enjoy the new hit song as long as it's pop, and a few other hit pop songs. Every other mainstream genre sucks now. The classic rock/classic pop stations are alright and the unpredictability of radio is nice sometimes.

I listen to FM oldies and occasionally the tejano stations, but, like most radio stations, they suffer the "play the same shit all the time" problem, so I prefer not to.

Sometimes I just want there to be a conversation in the room that I'm not really part of but can focus on if I feel like it. Calms me down.

some people are just crass about their beliefs. i am devout but i am too concerned about living righteously to try to force others to. i tell people about Jesus, sure, but i don't tell people they are going to hell

How do you cope with the idea that they are? Just have in your mind that that's where they should go? Does that effect your interaction with other people and the world on any level?

I do sometimes but I instantly regret it. It's out of boredom but also curiousity as to what normies might actively listen to. Living in a small town in the South, the music available on the radio is very disappointing. Our airwaves are dominated by at least 3 stations a piece of preaching, Christian rock, country, and mainstream rap, and maybe one station dedicated to buttrock with the occasional alternative song from the 90s that everyone's heard before. We have a lot of pop stations as well but some of them are duplicates and they all play the same very tame pop music, sometimes over 3 years old.

CJSW 90.9 In Calgary has some really good shows. Experimental electronic, jazz, Noise, shoegaze and pretty much any other Cred Forums approved shit.

CBC radio 1 used to be good but now all it does push it's awful SJW agenda on literally every fucking program.

It isn't really possible to be a decent Christian because you legitimately believe everyone who believes differently is going to suffer forever when they die. The best Christians can do is be nice to everyone, but in their heart they aren't nice at all.

London has some good pirate radio stations I listen to.

it affects everything, it's on my mind frequently and i do my best. i've tried to ignore my impulses to talk about it and i just felt like a horrible person. what made me really change is finding out a coworker died (he crashed his corvette into a dump truck, going so fast he knocked it over) and realizing he might have gone to hell, and i had never told him about Jesus.

telling people "you're going to hell" is never a way to win anyone over, to be certain. but i let the topic come up naturally, and since it is most always on my mind it tends to spout up pretty easily. whether or not they choose to understand is out of my control, all i can do is speak truth

No, Mexican radio is 90% shit and not because it's mostly pop (I like pop) but because all the music is old af or has been played to death.

One time I was driving around the State College, PA area and I happened to tune in to a really good Christian homily. I'm not religious but it was still very good listening material. It was preceded by a beautiful Quaker choir/organ arrangement, wish I had caught the name.

Do you realize that you're basically a sociopath? And that you're posting in the armpit of the net?

this is in a sense, true, which is why Jesus called for us to be all in. if i miss a chance to do good for someone, if i miss a chance to lead them to christ, it torments me
the music depends from station to station. i've grown to love it, it is soothing while most other stations give me anxiety
what is to be done?

You're still a terrible person though. Christians are supposed to be kind, but their beliefs prevent this completely.

Do you really think Jesus is so weak and egotistical that he cares about being worshiped? Doesn't that tell you that he's needy and jealous? Aren't those signs of weakness? Why does an angry tyrant deserve your worship? Especially when it tells you to disregard everything you know and repress your senses? Your religion shuns knowledge and tells you to look away from everything you can observe. You spend your existence looking towards a vague concept of one that will come afterwards, so you're deprived of the one you have. You're supposed to connect more to what isn't known to you that what is. Just keep in mind what your religion is telling you. It's telling you to keep your eyes closed and disregard everything around you, and threatens you with intense levels of agony and hopelessness to keep you from questioning it. Your religion thrives off of you not asking questions.

ok
do you think i have not asked questions? i did not choose belief, it was the other way around, i have had mystical experiences which have shown me who God is, namely, Love, the only thing worth living for, the only thing that is forever. you seem to have a notion that all christians are ignorant, though i've read philosophy books written by all kinds of people, i've read the entire bible cover to cover, the one thing i can tell you for certain is that God is real, and Jesus died for my sin

From a Christian standpoint, you should put more stock and faith in people and their own time that they will feel their need to be redeemed. You cannot coexist with your fellow man and secretly, or blatantly hold piety above them. And you should lead by example and not by word.

>love is the only thing worth living for

Yet so much of your life revolves around hate.

This is very disturbing.

i do this, user
what are you even talking about?

Jesus had a spiritual awakening. Because people at the time were ignorant it was misinterpreted as his claiming to be the physical embodiment of a god that is separate from the universe. Actually he was correct in that he was the physical embodiment of god, on the same level that everyone else was, but the people at the time couldn't understand that and so he was executed for claiming to be god, and that snowballed into Christianity. One thing being a Christian tells someone about you is that you haven't studied the history of the world's religions closely enough, much less your own.

University a couple towns over has a really cool radio station.

The fact that a lot of your life revolves around hate. You hate everyone that isn't like you, and even worse, you act like you don't, so you lie compulsively.

Love is not purity, though, and what you desire is constant redemption for you, your future husband/wife, maybe your kids so you know that it's okay to love because you're clean. Feeling that disgusted with God's creation and disgusted with who we are and what we do/think etc. is our original sin.

BBC 6, 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Radio 1 (Annie Nightingale and Friday night)

So yes, yes I do.

No, he explicitly stated who he was, this is the usual hippy silliness, bit disappointed in you user tbphwy famalam

what i believe is that we are all children/images of God, but we have shelled ourselves off from the One, condemned by our sin (despair, disunity with God). so Christ, who was blameless, became sin, so we could be blameless.

not him but I can't think of a person I hate

Wow...I guess I am going to hell...

Check out this mongoloid, readers. Has he ever had an original thought? Truly, he deserves derision. Let us kek.

But you believe anyone who doesn't share your beliefs will suffer forever after they die. That sounds like hate to me.

>I can't counter his argument so I'll just laugh at him instead

It tells us a lot about yourself.

No he doesn't, you know nothing about Christians, could you stop defaming us directly to us, please? It's tiresome.

but it's not a belief i made up
the whole basis of your argument is a false assertion. as for what you said here:
this would be true if i did not tell my friends about christ, because i would loathe being around them as i have hidden something of vital importance, and being around them would remind me of my weakness. however, i have already touched on this topic. the point is, the key to my happiness is to let everything be exposed, to hide nothing, to be an open book, so i do not feel like i have to be something i am not, or feel like i have knowingly watched a friend go to hell.

You don't have an argument, you have a bunch of stock 'makes you think' talking points beamed to us live from 2005. It's shocking that someone who posts on Cred Forums in Current Year could be so complacently dawkinsbabby, but that is Down syndrome for ya, there's no accounting for it.

I don't wish hell on nobody and I'm not sure how god judges us

Yes he does. Non believers go to hell. That's a big part of the Christian belief.

you choose hell when you reject God, user, that is what i believe.

This. Britbong radio >>>> Ameriburger radio anyday

We got underground dance music on the pirates, GOAT BBC stations doing everything from Top 40 to Jazz and Classic to Spoken Word programmes to Cred Forumscore, and even some of the commercial stations are alright (XFM and Absolute come to mind) plus local University radio stations.

American radio is all owned by the same company and has the same corporate playlist with the exception of the few college and public radio stations.

Nope. Again, you know nothing about what Christians believe. Would you do this with adherents of any other religion, give them a lecture on what they believe based on your misconceptions and insist they're true?

I didn't say it was a belief you made up. It doesn't matter who came up with it. It's still a hateful thing to believe.

Who said I was that guy?

I didn't say you wish hell on people. I said you believe anyone who doesn't share your beliefs goes to hell.

This is psychopathic behavior.

Yes, you said that, and you're wrong.

i'm bored of this. read the bible pls

Show me where I said that. I'll wait.

>I didn't say you wish hell on people. I said you believe anyone who doesn't share your beliefs goes to hell.

Meant forThe bible contradicts itself so many times it wouldn't help to read it. Wearing 2 different clothes is a sin? Pre marital sex is a sin? Psychopathic to say the least.

i'm not a christcuck but holy shit you're being a huge fag, stop putting words in his mouth.

>American radio is all owned by the same company and has the same corporate playlist

This. Clear Channel and Cumulus are directly responsible for music receding from general popular culture and driving interest in music to the internet in the U.S.

>same 10 songs all day every day because they can't afford to license anything else.

No. Radio is obsolete.

t. American

>lol I don't know how licensing in music or royalties work
>but I'm going to post anyway
>mom wish me luck

I was talking about the comment you quote immediately afterwards, the thing you actually said.

No, the Bible doesn't contradict itself, and again we have the Hot Topic atheist talking points from 2005. You must live somewhere very isolated to think you're thinking here.

Whatever, I'm just guessing that's how it works. I spent all last summer working 14 hours days packing fruit in a workhouse where they played Heart FM all day. Why else did they play Take on Me and Buffalo Soldier six times a day? There can't be much demand beyond: These are the designated 80s songs for the next month.

>I'm just guessing that's how it works

>workhouse
*Packhouse. I'm not a Dickens character.

Do we need a containment board for these faggot Christians now?

WORT 89.9 is the shit.

So much good music. A lot of their local talk programs are pretty flat though.

You have been paying no attention to the culture on Cred Forums for at least six years. Either that, or you're very new.

I only listen to Iggy Confidential on Radio 6
Need some comfy recs

>These are the designated 80s songs for the next month.
That's correct but it has nothing to do with them not being able to afford a more varied playlist. There should have long since been a series of antitrust lawsuits brought against Clear Channel, they have a defacto monopoly on radio in the U.S. But... we now live in an age of government for the corporations by the corporations, so....

A word of advice to you Millennials: this is exactly what your "Bernie utopia" would end up looking like in the end. The U.S. government will never have the best intentions concerning your welfare, just like a corporate entity like Wal-Mart wouldn't either.

You don't like iHeartRadio? Congradulations, you're no longer a democrat, socialist, or a communist.

Almost every day on my way to and from work. On the way there I have a few stations I switch between since sometimes I find it nice to not really be in control of what's playing (inb4 cuck, if you only listen to your own music and can skip every song you don't like at first, it's harder to find new music you like) and on the way back I listen to talk radio (based Simon Conway on WHO).

The racist/right wing ideologies of user used to be ironic. Then the Cred Forumstards who have no understanding of irony moved in, along with their Christian/moralfag shitposting. Religious people don't belong here. Religion on Cred Forums is only to be ridiculed. Go back to Cred Forums or /r9k/ with your primitive belief system, faggot.

sadly foster wallace was right.

our culture is dead.

>got my first mp3 player 14 years ago this October
What's radio?

>this salty assravaged reply
lol

>this reply that resorts to ad hominem rather than actually making a point

lol

Same. WBEZ chicago checking in

>not only do I not know how the anonymous internet works, I don't know what ad hominem means either
lol

My car is ancient and I've never got a cassette adapter to work, so it's radio only for me. Thankfully, a local station run by hipsters and old people plays some decent stuff grcmc.org/wyce/listen
