My band's lead guitarist has been eyeing one but 1450€ or whatever it was is just way too much. Pretty fucking cool guitar tho, I prefer the white one.

1400 usd. prolly gonna have to sell my other guitar cuz im broke now.

X2N or Super Distortion?
Hudson Rivera
Anyone have any experience with these? Been looking for a compressor that basically gives me the sustain and loudness of hi-gain distortion but at lower gain settings, and Paul Gilbert says this is the one. I have a Keeley 4 knob and while it's great overall, it doesn't really give me what I want for that low gain sound.

kind of relevant, is it weird to love the aesthetic and the sound of SG's and SG players (Angus Young, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Derek Trucks, etc), but hate playing the fuckin things? I played one for like 1 minute at a music shop once and it was fucking awful. Like wtf? I have an Ibanez S770 and i fucking love how it plays, and how it sounds.

Guitarfag here thinking about picking up the bass for a change of pace. Have been playing for 20 years with a couple hiatuses in the middle of that. I was transposing a bass line i liked for a guitar part and thought to myself why don't i just learn bass already instead of doing this guitar adaptation.
So yeah. Gonna buy a bass. Can Cred Forums recommend suggestions for best bass under let's say a grand? Music genre doesn't matter. I play everything.

Yes, I like the look of telecasters and some semi-hollow stuff but don't like the feel of them on my lap. Semi-hollows in particular dig in to my ribs in just the right spot to be distracting.

LTD B-206SM. You know it's good cause it weighs as much as a small sedan.
Nolan Cox
Will take a look. Thanks. LTDs... I have an LTD from 1998. It was my first more-expensive-than-a-squire guitar. Still plays well except for the knock-off floyd rose bridge driving me nuts.

Trying to buy a new decent amplifier. Any suggestions? Needs good rock/metal tones and is a reasonable price.
Easton King
which model did you try? how was it set up? what gauge strings?
For me SG's are comfy af, wouldn't trade mine for the world. >pic related, it's my workhorse

Myabe a mexican jazz bass or precision bass? they're $700-800 or something like that. I'd like to have one, since I'm currently stuck with a Cort Jr. Action bass that I got as a kid.
A shorter scale lenght might interest you since you're a guitar player. Maybe a Jaguar bass or something, the scale lenght is 30" if I remember correctly

tfw my dream guitar is a Cream Sg standard with a white pickguard
>tfw own 4 guitars >each ranging between $700 and $1000 >still have the same Line 6 Spider IV 30 watt I've had for 5 years >no pedals
I have no self control when it comes to buying guitars. I should have upgraded my amp years ago but I just never will.

What is a good price point for used MiM strat? 200-300?

Say what you want about Dave Mustaine as a person, but damn can that motherfucker play. The fact that he can sing while playing at the same time is mind blowing.
Connor Jenkins
>tfw I could play Mastermind at one point
I really like Mustaine's work. The decline in Megadeth's quality has really bummed me out.
Andrew Sanchez
i feel you f a m, i like the way they work the guitar, but i could never replicate it. >guitarfag here >in a guitar general thread uh ok then. honestly, i don't understand why people switch things up like that. there's still so much to do on one instrument. anyways i'd stick with an oldschool p bass

Just returned from a music store trip. Tried out a few. Frontrunner so far is the Sterling (musicman) Ray34. Very comfy. I'll make another couple music store trips and then see what kind of deals or maybe used options I can find.
