If you want me to be more specific its really nice to be able to sequence completely without looking at Ableton and treat it like a drum machine. I particularly like the loop function on it and I like the sensitivity of the pads although if money wasn't an issue maybe consider a Push if you are working with software primarily. My only hardware synth (a4) has its own sequencer so in that respect I don't use it that way.

we're talking mid side processing
mid side eq yes you can do it on the eq8
mid side processing on the master chnl is done (if you aren't a tard) by splitting the signal on the master and individually "processing" each channel
its the same principle as the eq8 but infinitely more flexible
