Look at Russian, every letter almost always behaves according to very precise rules. Letters even exist to make this pronunciation and phonetics explicit. She almost always looks high when she's performing because she's a VERY good performer (gets really into what she's doing.) And performing at such a high level (lol) has the same kind of neurological effect as getting high in the first place (it releases endorphins.) In professional performance circles it's colloquially known as the "performer's high". It's the whole reason why druggy types tend to gravitate towards becoming performance artists in the first place.
