I've always wondered what the hell they were thinking with that time capsule. It's just trapped in orbit around earth now somewhere in the vast emptiness of space. It's literally impossible for anyone to spot it.

Actually, it's not. Voyager 1 and 2, which carry the Golden Record that has all the music, sounds, and languages on it (A bunch of classical and Johnny B. Goode), are currently leaving the solar system. Thereafter, they will wander silently and forever in the realm of the stars, as Carl Sagan put it.
I'd send them The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I wonder how aliens would like trippy psychedelic music?
