Albums, when mentioned as someone's favorite, make that person your nigga

Any David Bowie album would do, but this one in particular is my all time favorite.

my nigga

...

Thanks.

Listened to it a few months ago, and it blew me a way. It's like a goth-rock Pet Sounds.

this is my fave album of all time my nigga

OP here, probably one of the most relaxing albums ever made. Never fails to put me in a chill mood

would bang

Literally anything by the Manic Street Preachers. Insanely underappreciated band. Also, pic related.

Whats the next best Cure album?

thought this was Muslimgauze by the cover for a second

nothing even comes close to Disintregation's perfection, but Wish has some great tracks on it, and Seventeen Seconds is pretty good

Pornography imo.
Then Faith.
Then 17 Seconds.
Then Wish.
Then Bloodflowers.
Then Head On The Floor.
Then Kiss Me x3.
Then Boys Don't Cry.
Then The Top.
Then Wild Mood Swings.

Then the rest of their stuff.

yall my niggas now

17 seconds my dude

anyone who likes this is based

It's number 4

1-3?

The Smiths – The Queen Is Dead
Joy Division – Unknown Pleasures
Jeff Buckley – Grace

My absolute african comrade.

My nigga. Diamond Dogs wasn't my favorite release but I do love Bowie. Low, Heroes and Hunky Dory for me

FINALLY I got me a nigga.
What about Lodger? I see tons of love for Low and "Heroes" but Lodger always gets glossed over.

For sure his most underrated album imo. The Berlin trilogy as a whole is amazing

What do you think of his later career stuff? I feel like there's a lot of underrated stuff there.

I'm not a huge fan but I wouldn't write it off completely. Outside and Earthling are both solid albums, and of course Blackstar is incredible if you count that

How about Black Tie and Heathen?

(Those 2 are in my top 5, along with Earthling)

Shit I forgot about BTWN, that's a very good album too. Definitely on par with Earthling. And I'm gonna be honest I've only kind of glossed over Heathen, I'll have to go back and give it a few more listens. What's your top five?

...

...

...

It's the superior MM LP.

where my negros at?

love disintegration

My top 5:
1. Diamond Dogs
2. EARTHLING
3. Aladdin Sane
4. Heathen
5. Black Tie White Noise

Yours??
(Sorry for late reply, was on another thread)

Liking Death Grips makes u iight in my book

Also are you into tattoos at all? I've got one booked for next month and it's a bit of a Bowie tribute. It's going on my forearm - a minimalist solar system design (cos space was such a big theme in his music and I've had a fascination with space since I was a kid so two birds with one stones) and above the planets I'm putting the bottom part of the Blackstar cover that spells out "Bowie" in black stars

I've never gotten a tattoo before but that sounds awesome, man.

Also I posted my top 5 if interested.

Ayy good choices. Mine's a bit more average (plus the order varies slightly from time to time)

1. Hunky Dory
2. Low
3. "Heroes"
4. Aladdin Sane
5. Ziggy Stardust

Good list. Never really liked 'heroes' enough to put it in a top spot but it's still a great album

(I just personally didn't like Sense of Doubt)

I've rated all of David's albums out of 10 before (with a good chunk getting 10/10). Wanna see my ratings? You can do yours too if you want.

Yeah sure, I haven't rated them myself but I'd be interested in seeing yours

you are my nigga.

Awesome. Thanks.

Never Let Me Down, anything Tin Machine related

Thoughts?

Agree on basically all of them lol, when I first heard Hunky Dory I was a bit reluctant to give it a 10 because I wasn't a fan of "Kooks" but it's grown on me. Plus I love all the other songs enough to make up for it, "Oh You Pretty Things" is probably my favorite Bowie song but it's hard to pick just one

I'd probably give Young Americanas around an 8 too, it never really clicked with me

I remember I bought all of his albums around Christmas Day (roughly 2 years ago) and I listened to them all throughout my christmas break, and I swear to god there wasn't a single one I didn't love at the time*. Of course I grew more critical of them with time but I still love them all to a degree (Minus Never Let Me Down. Fuck that.)

Why didn't Y.A. click with you?

Reblog!

Fuck off

His albums really do have a unique affect, it's great. Never Let Me Down really was a mess, I'm not too sure what he was aiming at with that album

I'm not quite sure why Y.A. didn't click with me. I still really really like the album, it just didn't have that "wow" factor I got with his other releases.

Anyway , I've gotta go to bed. It's late her and I've got some lectures in the morning lol, it was good talking to you man

...

Good talking to you too, friend. Have a good night. :)

forgot to mention "mah nigga"
