This coming from a genuine FlyLo fan

anything on brainfeeder.

pic related surpasses Cosmogramma in every respect

and i actually love Cosmogramma

Comes pretty fucking close.

nah FlyLo is clearly the most talented one on that label

>lumping 80 years of music into one label

incunabula

So I listened to this one yesterday, and I genuinely enjoyed it, I liked how it mixed jazz elements with electronic, in a way that seemed to complement each other.

Anything else like this? Im generally a fan of BoC and Ulrich, looking to expand my taste though. Not a fan of rap

Oneohtrix Point Never is amazing

check Squarepusher - Music Is Rotted One Note

youtube.com/watch?v=JPusoVLd1QY

amon tobin

giving it a listen right now. really good 3 tracks in

I came here to say all 3 Sweet Trip albums completely obliterate Cosmogramma. That album has absolutely nothing on Sweet Trip's creativity.

>albums this squashed
>good

listen to literally anything else.

This

Speaking of sweet trips

but cosmogramma is just flylo badly coping what amon tobin had done years prior

that wouldve been legendary

...

Try again next time.

Newfag, check these trips

...

The entire nu jazz and future jazz genres

Geogaddi

/thread

side thread: Guess OP's age.

i'm guessing 20.

this album isn't that good. sorry.

maybe

Selected Ambient Works 85-92

side question: guess everyone's age in this thread based on their entry-level tastes and recommendations

I'm guessing 19.

did someone say sweet trips

Wasn't that hard tbqh

It really is like stumbling around Tokyo at night in a drunken haze lads..

The sweet trips thing was only cool the ONE time it worked. It will never be that great again.

Can I have some recommendations? I have only listened to Mondo Grosso. Loved it

REPLICA

what do you think of the b side?

>tfw listening to this while writing shitty python scripts

...

You're hilarious.
Taking the bait m8

Eccojams

Very relatable

You mean the 2nd CD? I listen to it more often than the original album tbqh, it's ambient/field recording perfection.

how does anyone enjoy this trash

soo when you say "It really is like stumbling around Tokyo at night in a drunken haze lads", you're referring to the 2nd cd? I can see it with the 1st more so

Nah I'd say both CDs still. Disc 1 would be in the city centre where the nightlife and parties are, disc 2 would be in airports/subways/cable cars.

roll

why has no-one come close?

i'll show you

>

Someone tell me why I should like this album, I tried, I liked some songs but I just couldn't get into it.

Tangerine Dream - Rubycon
Done.

I love this album but it's kinda cheating to classify it as electronic, especially since a lot of the electronic parts of this album meander and are sorta the weaker points in the album imo. It's just a super fucking perfect blend of everything. Roberto Burgos is really talented. Design 2:3 is one of the best songs i've ever heard

go plastic is better as a whole but there's some big standouts on ultravisitor

there's no electronic general so i'll ask here

i'm on a nostalgia kick and relistening to pic related a lot. which Cred Forums essentials lists should I check out for other (feel-good, pop) dubstep or uk garage? i'll take other recommendations, they don't have to be critically acclaimed, just something nice and lonely

Name one string album that even comes close to pic related.

pro tip: you can't

>there's no electronic general

Why would there be? Thats fucking retarded for 80 years of music with more variety than all guitar music combined.

Skream - Epic Last Song

underrated classic

Can't name one that even comes close to it, so here is one that surpasses it.

liking it, and it's definitely reminiscent, thanks user

nice bait

Why are hip hop and ambient the only ''electronic'' genres that get their own threads?

because ambient and hip-hop (minus memerap) are the best

the retards on this board only know what p4k spoofed to them
just look at all the posts in this thread

they're the only ones that writers can acclaim using the accepted arbitrary music rating system. Hip hop has lyrics where we can find meaning. Ambient is evocative and solemn and whatever other adjective is more acceptable than cinematic.

(you)

the thing that causes these issues in electronic music conversations is the idea that good music exists at all. it doesn't.

that's why we're here on Cred Forums, because we already know all of the good albums that will ever been released

>rock wasn't a genre until 1995, until then it was all just R&B by white people

I know you're trolling, but just taking into account the exponentially slim chances that you actually think this is an electronic album, I'll tell you that it's not. It's an alternative rock album that heavily incorporates electronic elements, some songs more than others. But there is way too much guitar, bass guitar, and analog drums to consider this electronic, and the songs are much too traditionally structured. And I think this is why people get so butthurt about this album and how highly touted it is. As an electronic album, Kid A presents nothing new and probably seems really basic to those who love and listen heavily to electronic music. But as a rock album it's super impressive. It manages to blend tons of genres seamlessly without ever losing its identity. It presented a lot of new sounds to an audience that never really sought them out without completely alienating them. I can honestly credit this album with popping the rock bubble for me and allowing me to explore and appreciate other genres. Some may call that entry-level and talk shit on it, but those people are way too far up their own asses for me to care what they think. So is it a better electronic album than Cosmogramma? No, not at all. Is it a more important album overall? Immeasurably.

Responding to bait or not thanks for your response it was an interesting read

>Is it a more important album overall? Immeasurably.

Except its just a rip-off of early Warp Records sound with Thom whining over the top and only got the acclaim it did because Radiohead are more well known.

...

first day listening to bleep bloops kiddo?

I think you misunderstood the point. It's important because it got a lot of people to broaden their horizons musically.

ah, fair enough then

>tfw my dad showed me this album when I was like 8 years old and it scared the shit out if me
fucking gave me nightmares. Still really good tho

>Amon Tobin - Permutations
A worthy challenger imo

This is such an overlooked gem. Jesus Fucking Christ

Benga - Roller

What album is that? (Newfag here)

Completely agree. This got me into electronic music

See bottom of

fly-lo's cosmogramma

Thank you for posting this

I think this album is better than cosmogramma for sure

Good album here too

Much, much better in every way.

As a big BoC and Ulrich fan too I like Clams Casino, but Biosphere and Stars of the Lid are much more ambient and spacy if you're into that. If you wanna go full meme listen to Aphex Twin's early stuff.

/thread

LOL

I like You're Dead! more.
What's wrong with me?

Give it a few more listens, use decent headphones and try listening for all the tiny nuances throughout the sound

Nothing. It is the better album.

You know it's true.
