Larks Tongues

This and
Fragile
...

This.

And this comes pretty close too.

For Yes, I think Close to the Edge is the best, with The Fragile being a close second.
Both Lark's and Red are better than In the Court of the Crimson King though.

There are other contenders for best Prog albums. The Lamb lies down on Broadway and The Power and the Glory are two that come to mind right now.

I think Itcock and OP and first and second respectively, but only if you don't count Krautrock.

i like discipline a lot as well but i'm actually not sure if it's still considered prog

...

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick

To name a few

>meme floyd

Frances The Mute

le close to the edge is a good album meme

...

TaaB is not prog

yes it is

No its not
>Pink Floyd - The Wall
>Dream Theater - Scenes From A Memory
Holy shit, I just realised I got baited.
Shame on me

Underrated post. Great taste user.

Also, ITCOTCK isn't even in the top 3 best KC albums, let alone prog in general.

>ITCOTCK isn't even in the top 3 best KC albums, let alone prog in general.

being contrarian doesn't mean you are necessary right

Easy

W E W
decent choices

Van der Graaf Generator are criminally under appreciated.

caneu - faust iv

this

Close to the Edge is the best album, but Gates of Delirium imo is the pinnacle of Yes' musical production

It's been a secret of mine that Relayer is my favorite Yes album.

pic is another incredible Van der Graaf Generator album.

people know about this band, meight

nikka this shit is dope as fuck thanks for posting
posting underrated spanish record

I love Gentle Giant and I actually own the first release of this album, but it just doesn't grab me like their other stuff does. I'm probably gonna trade it in to my local record shop.

this or trilogy

In the Court of the Crimson King

Camel - Mirage
Gong - Angel's Egg

thanks, nice dubs mate

Comus - First Utterance
Faust - s/t
Faust - Faust IV
Can - Tago Mago
Aphrodite's Child - 666
King Crimson - Red
King Crimson - Discipline
Oh, and Yes - Fragile

No, but his opinion does.
Red, Larks and Discipline are better albums.

Any Dreamtheater album ;^)

I don't think Red is as good as ITCOTCK but Starless is the best thing KC have ever done, and the best thing to come out of prog.

This or Crime of the Century

...

THIS

cardiacs, gentle giants and magma

Tales From Topographic Oceans
Relayer
Thick As A Brick
A Passion Play
Tarkus
Foxtrot
Octopus
In A Glass House
Lark's Tongues In Aspic
Soft Machine's Third
Godbluff
Pawn Hearts
Still Life

>tfw

The only right choice.

"Drama" is the best Yes album because it has the song "Machine Messiah" on it:

youtube.com/watch?v=I_V7HOQEGHo

...

I actually really like Drama, its underrated. It's not better than CttE or Fragile, but its very good.

...

Meddle - Pink Floyd
Not Available - The Residents

...

It's okay at best

contrarian spotted

...

>Not Available - The Residents
That's RIO and Avant Rock, not Prog

>No one posted this one yet

Also what the hell is with all this prog rock threads recently? I just starded listening to it hardcore and I see them everywhere

Days of Future Passed
Red
Islands

>Days of Future Passed
Anything like this? I guess Procol Harum is similar but it's not very prog.

Close to the Edge and Fragile are two of my favorites of Yes.

But all time favorite is Hemispheres by Rush

It's prog fucker

Museo rosenbach - Zarathustra

...

it's a parody of prog

I've been thinking of getting this album. Should probably go ahead and do it. Is it as good as their previous three albums?

Not Available fits no genre, none of your progarchives buzzwords will do it justice.

it's definitely not prog though

This because Thick as a Brick is a direct Parody of Close to the Edge.

>Comus - First Utterance
>King Crimson - Red

Was just about to post.

Maybe that but I didn't think of it at first.

None, because CttE is the best. ITCOTCK isn't even KC's best, though.

It's incredible. I'd say it comes in second after Foxtrot.

>The Wall

Literally my all-time favorite album

Yessongs

Anybody else only like Close To The Edge and don't really care for the rest of the album? Siberian Khatru is also good I guess.

...

It's decent I suppose desu. Wouldn't listen to it though, doesn't really seem like it really holds up against the test of time.

Red
Rock Bottom
All Can albums up to an including Future Days
Animals
Camembert Electrique
Unrest
The Rotters Club

That wasn't hard

was just about to post this

Selling England by the Pound (better than foxtrot IMHO)
Lark's Tongue
Red
Discipline I guess though it's not a very "prog" album beyond being performed by KC

It's fucking nuts. Great album, but not the sort you can listen to in any circumstance other than intense focused listening. Peter Gabriel is a massive perv.

I also want to add Pawn Hearts and Godbluff to my post

No. "And You And I" is easily the best track on the entire album and Siberian Khatru is weaker than both of the other two.

It was released 9 months before CttE you dolt

Red, Larks Tongues in Aspic
666 by Aphrodite's Child
Yes' albums are also pretty good

>Siberian Khatru is the weakest track

...

does nobody else like The Yes Album?

The Mollusk

>not posting pic related

Great album, m3.

Blackwater Park by Opeth is good Progressive Death Metal.

Camel are gods among men.

Thick as a Brick, but that's been said like 4 times already

lel

IMHO their top album.

>Peter Gabriel is a massive perv
elaborate?

Animals

itcotkk aint even king crimsons best album, bud

no question

Close to the edge is so good, the only prog album I've listened to once every day

this is an awful album though

SO YA

THOUGHT CHA

operation mindcrime

no

MIGHT LIKE TA

yep

one good song + a bunch of filler

>every ELP album

I've been trying to like that band since forever because Fripp liked them enough to do some guitars on two of their albums. But shit just doesn't click.
Even just remembering it exists gets me frustrated I'll never understand what's so great about them.

This is awesome, thanks, it's hard to find good prog

...

Well that was easy

TMV is the tits

GO TO DA SHOW

Amon Duul II - Yeti.
