Is there even anybody besides Xenakis that dabbled into "stochasticism"?

You can't move any higher once you're at the top

This.
If anything I'm moving down now; Why would I spend the rest of my days listening to the half a dozen composers that did work on the half a dozen top tier genres when there's so much to listen to in the lower levels? The pyramid analogy works all too well here.

because i am not an edgelord

How do these even work? Do you have to listen to all genres in one field? Exclusively? Or a single genre?

The shitty genres at the bottom like metal , rap, industrial rock etc... are edgier tho

It's exclusionary.
You must not listen to genres in one field.
If you listen to Rap, you're automatically Type 0, for instance.

lol

>more obscure music=/= better music

>more popular music != better music

Why aren't you interested in exploring music and more bothered by hat memes and strangers calling you buzzwords?

Not an argument.

Glorious every level master race.

Generative Music is not so easy to listen to. The idea is that every time you play a piece of generative music it sounds different.
Brian Eno created an album of generative music called "Generative Music 1", for the SSEYO Koan program, which would sound different every time you played it in Koan. Unfortunately the software and album are long since lost, but here's something youtube.com/watch?v=VgbbYLSNbfg this is just a recorded play through of one track from the 'album', but if you could play it in koan it would sound different every time you played it.

Because I'm not a special snowfalke faggot who thinks some obscure shit with less than 1000 listeners is pinnacle of music

what happened to onkyo-kei?
too mainstream for you, hamps?

the pyramid is upside down

But it could be.

This is the most bullshit thing I have ever seen. Like, some of the genres are so close to each other that it's splitting hairs to distinguish between the two, and yet they are like three or four levels apart. The fact that post-punk is like three levels above punk and garage rock shows that this is basically the taste in music of the guy who made this chart, with imaginary genres added in for extra fedoraness.

So you purposefully listen to Billboard topping music just because its not obscure, thats just as retarded.

You don't think post-punk sounds different to regular punk?

Joy Division and The Sex Pistols have the same sound?

>Billboard topping music
lel the first 2 levels cover like 90% of popular music while the rest is oddly specific bullshit

also notable is that aleatoricism is a form of indeterminacy, so listing them both is redundant.

this whole chart is made for making fun of faggots like op, im amazed that its still taken seriously

xenharmonism is just a hipster meme name for microtonal music.

That was just an example. Like I said, there are so many "genres" here that a single band could be all over this chart. Prog Rock and Art Rock?

You're a hipster meme.

Macrotonal music is also xenharmonic.
Xenharmonic = Macrotonal AND Microtonal

>is made for
[citation needed]

>McDonald's is the world's best restaurant
>Hip Hop is the highest art ever conceived

gay

nah, industrial rock is my baby

because it's bullshit

oh Hamp

Dumb weeaboo faggot

Why is Post Punk so high?

I already listen to Kimberley Kubus

youtube.com/watch?v=8hbkBpXWbQk

nice vid user

why'd you stop at mdtf and cosmogramma?
monk and wagner are the only worthwhile discs on that list

Popularity has nothing to do with how good the music is. Whether it's more or less popular, it's popularity has no bearing on if the music is "good."

I like a lot of music, why can't people just like what they like without this stupid "us v them" categorically labeling mentality.

>why can't people just like what they like without this stupid "us v them"
Because that way they get an added sense of superiority over "them"

For what purpose??
That mentality is probably the root of every problem we have here in the US

>For what purpose??
I just said? So they can feel superior to other people.

As a music critic, I think this is all absolute bullshit and you're just retardedly limiting your savoring of good music in the name of obcurity. Pitiful, just enjoy any music which you like, don't over complicate it.

kek, look at this pleb

>no protein music
reminder that you need to be over 18 to post on Cred Forums

youtube.com/watch?v=WLGGLJ5xlBg

Why does Saxophone guy look like he's about to burst out in laughter any moment?

Music gets significantly less fun each tier. No thank you.

>desperately need to feel important
>cant listen to society's music, then id be pleb
>steer away from popular music at all costs
>aka my music tastes are governed by whats popular
>aka im no different than a TOP40 normie

Kill yourself OP with your higher than thou chart

Where does this fit in the pyramid?
youtube.com/watch?v=myIJWxrZx1E

kek so true! bloody hipsters

Come on, while this kind of thinking is a problem, this chart is clearly a self aware joke.

>tfw Siolas is actually pretty good
Thanks user.

That backdrop is cringey af

he's playing the SExophone
get it?

>Post punk
> Type II

Shouldn't this be in type 0?

Or type I at least. I don't get it either.
