I know this album gets, meme'd a lot and I've always been fond of it but recently I listened to it again and holy shit... It's like actually perfect. I thought it was dated at first or something but wow...

Thriller
Thriller is great but it definitely has a couple of lesser (though still quite good) tracks and lacks any sort of real emotional punch. It's a feel-good album.
Pet Sounds is that and so much more.
Thriller totally makes sense as and deserves to be the greatest selling album of all time, it's hard to imagine anyone hating it, but for those whom it clicks with (mostly us insular loner types) Pet Sounds is really moving. They both have amazing melodies and production but PS is more personal and has more passion and conviction in the core of it. Thriller was a blockbuster meant to entertain everybody.
