because it dieded

Based on my experiences punk is about whining about other people. As for the question of death, have you ever spent time at a punk show?

No. I never went to a punk show. I've seen clips of them though.

Aaaaand another one for the reactions folder

If anyone says punk is dead, he's probably some Pitchfork hipster-type with a liberal arts degree

Probably because people consider bands like AJJ and The Front Bottoms to be punk.

opened just to save it

good punk is about politics, something it actually makes sense to get angry about and raise awareness of. decent punk is about how bad addiction, anxiety and depression are. bad punk is about how great addiction is and how great the person is whos writing it (like most popular rap).
but who the fuck am i anyway?
Punk rock is an expression of white anger and since white people aren't allowed to be angry anymore, "punk" just became an emasculated genre for nu-males to cry to.

> this is what Cred Forums actually believes
stop projecting your failures on the world. it isnt the jews fault you failed. theres dozens of angry white punk bands in my tiny town. leave your house and your echo chamber. i thought you conservatives like free market deciding? when the free market decides nobody likes skin head punk you suddenly flip on this?

I just want to leave this here.

>decides to project in his own post

I mean yeah I wish Cred Forums shit would stay in Cred Forums, but jesus fuck dude you can do better than that.

Also quit shuffling me in with these people, fucker.

>why do people say punk is dead?
because all kool kids are crusties and travellers now

> yea... well... NO YOU!
sorry kid, leave your house. i guarantee there is tons of angry white punk bands in your town. also you dealt with nothing i said. you said your rubber and im glue.
> I mean yeah I wish Cred Forums shit would stay in Cred Forums

if thats really your opinion you wouldnt have claimed white people are oppressed on a thread about punk. nobody likes skin head punk, nobody can maintain theres no white masculine figures all over tv, movies and radio unless they spend all day on Cred Forums. fishing, sports, hunting are all the most popular hobbies for men where i grew up and you will be made fun of, even by the women, for not liking them. if you think masculinity is under attack its probably because you spend too much time with porn and Cred Forums. you Cred Forums folk whine about free speech but are upset the world doesnt conform exactly how you see fit and youre super duper oppressed. (you could put sjw in place of Cred Forums folk and itd be equally true)

Punk is about doing whatever the fuck you want. Punk is dead because it became a marketable style of music on a large scale.

Punk isn't just white, quit projecting
This dude gets it

Punk is dead, its been dead since the late 80's, the whole she thing with modern punk is new and anyone that says other wise is just wrong due to them confusing old social justice, which was mainly about rich vs poor while modern social justice is just bigotry against people that are white, cis and straight and trying to push an agenda similar to Trotskyism or middle class "anarchy"

I agree with this persons politics although punk obviously isn't "dead". What does that even entail? That it isn't relevant in some way? Everything is relative. Most punk artists aren't even concerned with relevance in modern society which is a shame, they just want their insular community that has been unfortunately co-opted by intersectional left wing politics. It has almost always been this way, except for the greats which usually are concerned with what they can interject into mainstream society. Punk started mostly as an art movement formulated out of Dadaists and absurdity. It spawned and continues to spawn all relevant cultural phenomena , everything from industrial and electronic music to designers working for target have been and still are touched by punk. Just recently a designer ripped off an American nightmare album cover. The most interesting band in conventional punk would probably be the coneheads or hair long and freaky, which are essentially a disco band. Punk also includes noise artists and people like that so you could make an argument that they are the ones pushing boundaries . This is clearly my opinion but a word of the wise , don't say things are "dead" that never wanted to appeal , and still don't want to appeal to popular culture in the first place.

hmm so Cred Forums is punk as fuck?

You could actually make an argument for this, people are attracted to Cred Forums and it has created tons of ciultural
Phenomena . All the content on here is essentially created in a vacuum for the sake of making it. For the sake of the Lulz enjoyment . In a way Cred Forums is a giant art piece of its own, usually people paving their own way in life seem eccentric to normals. But look at all we have given society, everything from memes to certain social consciousness that people most likely won't connect to is here. Obviously most people that are into this crowd ( Cred Forums) aren't aware of this tiny Insualr movement and here are other movements and crowds with similarities to punk that are unaware of their association. Really even before punk you had the beatniks and Dadaists. It's all made in the same spirit .
