Daddy’s Car” is the first entire pop song composed by artificial intelligence

sounds like a p4k Best New Track

cant see myself singing it in the shower desu

will AI start making patrician music?

Can AI be patrician?

We already have another thread, you dumbfuck. And no it's not composed by the program it's composed by some dude who put it through the program. Even if it did what it claims to do, the Emily Howell program already did that.

where's the other thread?

Pathetic

Not bad. I'd like to hear something with a funkier beat.

It's alright I guess.

its other song is pretty patrician actually

still not clear on what the AI's actual role in these songs is. there's no way this is all the work of an AI.

the A.I. just generate the sheet notes you idiot, the only its atually only human-made in the end. Dumb ass brainlet.

Apparently the AI uses a database of songs. Someone needs to upload a bunch of goregrind and harsh noise.

better youtube.com/watch?v=NQ0fzp9DxaA

Can dig it.

>the only its atually only

I want to fucking kill myself

>tfw this computer's song is better than anything you've written in your life

Album cover looks like Tesseract

>tfw an AI makes better music than you ever will.

What do you mean? Is it all sampling? Like whose vocals are those?

Some french guy

BNAIM

>first entire pop song composed by artificial intelligence
>French guy vocals
fuck off, it's not AI made then.

Someone doesn't know what composed means

>Not understanding what composed by AI means.
>Getting angry when some French guy preforms the composition.

I unironically like this.

What the fuck is wrong with me.

I gotta find more like this holy shit
Does anyone of anything like it?

>composed
You dumb f...

>"Daddy's Car" is composed in the style of The Beatles. French composer Benoît Carré arranged and produced the songs, and wrote the lyrics.
aka frog gives program music and the program arranges it, then it gets exported into some clickbait youtube vid

Yeah, I fucking know that you dumb cunts. I was meaning entirely made. I thought OP meant the AI somehow composed and made that product, rather than having someone perform the composition. Until that can be done then I'm not interested.

okay so go away

Merci beaucoup for all the euros

Are you implying Beethoven, Bach, Debussy, ect, didn't make their music?

No offense, sounds like ass to me.

>tfw eventually we'll enter an age where AIs are ghost writing

Sure as shit sounds like it as made by a computer... well that was reassuring. I was afraid computers could do something competently other than pipe pornography into my home. Lucky me.

Right here But either way, since this one's more popular, I do want to say that the more advanced Emily Howell is what I am really hyped about. That AI is literally the Watson of music, and at one point we will just have to say to it "ay yo Emily make me something Brian Wilson and Michael Gira would make if they worked together" and BOOM! You got yourself a newly created composition.

This pretty much. It's kinda sad when tech for this has already existed for almost a decade, but then somebody else tries to take credit by NOT EVEN GETTING CLOSE to the actual concept. Along with the Emily Howell program, there's that other thing that other guy mentioned in the other thread someone else started on this "AI that 'composes'", there have been actual generative music programs for a while now, and there's also the shit Autechre has been messing around with.

Daddy's Car is baby shit compared to what's really going on in terms of cutting edge music tech.

No, but we're talking about the power of AI, which I don't think this shows enough. So it can compose. Now make it produce.

No

The computer wont be offended, it'll just try another song until you like one.

The way this is done actually sounds REALLY boring...

>1) We set up a database called LSDB. It contains about 13000 leadsheet from a lot of different styles and composers (mainly jazz and pop about also a lot of Brazilian, Broadway and other music styles).

>2) The human composer (in this case Benoît Carré, but we are experimenting with other musicians as well) selected a style and generated a leadsheet (melody + harmony) with a system called FlowComposer. For Daddy’s Car, Carré selected as style “the Beatles” and for Mr. Shadow he selected a style that we call “American songwriters” (which contains songs by composers like Cole Porter, Gershwin, Duke Ellington, etc).

>3) With yet another system called Rechord the human musician matched some audio chunks from audio recordings of other songs to the generated leadsheets.

>4) Then the human musician finished the production and mixing.

So basically, they had a bunch of sheet music that had been hand-labelled "Beatles-esque pop" or some shit, then the AI analyses what are common chord progressions, melodies, what notes go with what chords, whatever... and it basically just generates something based on this info it has.

I mean, it sounds OK, but basically all it had to do was pick chords and notes that go with it... the human composer ARRANGED it all. I'm sure if it was just the actually lead sheet than the computer ACTUALLY "composed", it was sound pretty shitty and boring.
