I know there's a Japanese album which is a folk album but with feedback guitar on it.

Other than that there's probably a few NMH and Microphones songs that could be described this way.

kawaii death punk

I suppose the Portsmouth Sinfonia are sort of like that. They were an orchestra who couldn't play their instruments. Brian Eno was a member.
youtube.com/watch?v=nDZZEfrRbdw

Animal Collective-Hollindagain/Spirit They've Gone Spirit They've Vanished

"What if dungeon synth came from doom metal" the genre

Found it.
It was Slap Happy Humphrey:
youtube.com/watch?v=e60wIqdxnMU

actually they are made by a mix of
people that cant play instruments
people that cant play the instruments they are playing
some virtuosos playing their instruments for the sake of making stuff alittle cohesive

Henry Flynt has some stuff like this. I don't wanna in particular. That Even Oxen album is pretty cool too.

Now that I think of it maybe Glenn Branca could be considered Symphonic No-Wave.

x2 this

Seconding this

Shoegaze jazz

Good music.

Horrorgrind
Grindcore with dark ambient and the classical music genre used on horror movies genres.
The theme is fantastical gore, isntead of the pseudo realistic gore (for the lack of an better word) of goregrind.
The vocals are those ultra crazy vocals you see sometimes on ethereal darkwave songs

Straight-edge psychedelia
Progressive punk

>Good music.
To you or to the musician?
If to the musician check onkyokei

Disco Punk

Dance punk is a whole genre

Social Justice Punk Music

Diatonic serialism.

I win.

Aesop Rock

Shabazz Palaces

Harsh jazz (I know it exists, like punk jazz with Lounge Lizards and Naked City)

But what I want is edgy jazz. Something with the feeling of either heavy metal or hard trap or power noise, but jazz

AlasnoAxis? very ambient, but not really shoegaze

serialism isn't strictly 12-tone

Punk with Saxophones
I know this is a thing, I just want recs outside of Fun House, X-Ray Spex and Flipper's Sex Bomb

I see what you are getting at, but couldnt you still construct tone rows out of diatonic notes? It would still be inherently diatonic, but you would probably end up with some cool ambient sounding stuff, as every note would be given equal importance and the tonic wouldnt always be the note a phrase lands on.

Lounge Lizards and Naked City

>Harsh jazz (I know it exists, like punk jazz with Lounge Lizards and Naked City)
>But what I want is edgy jazz. Something with the feeling of either heavy metal or hard trap or power noise, but jazz
It's called free jazz lmao, pic related

This is pretty much most minimalism

James Chance and the Contortions

These are all great, but have you got anything more traditionally punky?

prog drone

This is either really good or gimmicky wank

Progabilly

its amazing. just go into it with an open mind and you'll be surprised to see what a unique album it is

m8 this is fucking great, judging by the amount of views on youtube, I think you are shitposting it, but it is reallygood.

wait until you get to the power electronics track. the whole album has this smooth progression that builds up like a movie almost. the fact that no one knows about it only makes it better haha

lol nope

Shoegaze Punk

Most post-punk has "arty" genre-stealing and found sound flourishes, like the creeking sound effects on Unknown Pleasures. I suppose something like This Heat or The Pop Group or Swell Map's music is a bit more abstract

Why is Cred Forums so fucking full of prog posting right now?

Is it some new fucking meme?

Common? Also you're retarded

butthole surfers is probably the closest thing i can think of

a non-gy!be post-rock band which has both string and wind instruments, and plays long evolving songs instead of individual songs collected in an album.
I bet this comment will go unanswered.
