He's funny but interviews where he's the interviewee are atrocious. He needs to one-up everyone. He needs to be the fucking weirdo of the group. He needs to be the one in control, constantly, all the time, and it leads to awkward situations where he refuses to answer questions and says stupid shit. He tries to make every appearance he makes into an episode of The Eric Andre Show, and if someone asks him why he's acting this way, he goes into this pseudo-intellectual, nihilistic rant. So basically you should only watch Eric Andre on his show, and no where else but his show.

I think that's the point though. I mean the show attempts to deconstruct talk shows and the odd dynamic of an interview and his interviews outside the Eric Andre show are extensions of that. Often times he tries to interview the interviewer which is interesting because usually they're just some nameless schmuck interviewing a famous person but he completely turns it on its head.

Yeah, I think when it's a straight up interview he'll try and take it over with his own antics, but if it's more back and forth and conversational, he's pretty chill.

I think that's why he reacted so badly with Nardwuar. He was obviously very frustrated that Nardwuar didn't respond to any of his attempts to make conversation, how can you take a person seriously and just stand there and answer questions if they don't respond to you on a human level? That said he should've read the situation better and not try to press Nardwuar into an awkward situation.

I think most things on the Eric Andre show are absolutely genius, mostly when they involve Hannibal. But most of the "pranks" are fucking facebook tier, and i actually think Eric on his own is not really that funny.

Shit like Bird up and Ranch are funny because it's original and not really hurting others, but the other pranks are terrible and unfunny.
